It Can Be Done: Poems of Inspiration

Rate this book
1921. This is a volume of inspirational poems. Its purpose is to bring men courage and resolution, to cheer them, to fire them with new confidence when they grow dispirited, to strengthen their faith that things can be done. It is better for this purpose than the entire works of any one poet, for it takes the cream of many and had greater diversity than any one writer can show.

There will always be God to serve, my boy,
And always the Flag above;
They shall call to you until life is through
For courage and strength and love.
So these are things that I dream, my boy,
And have dreamed since your life began:
That whatever befalls, when the old world calls
It shall find you a sturdy man.

My favorite book of poetry, nothing but Inspirational poems. I gave a copy to my daughter and keep one old tattered copy on my bookshelf. If I was on a desert island and could only have five books this would be one of the books.

An outstanding collection of inspirational poems. I’m grateful to the people at Project Gutenberg, who made this amazing book free for all.

Update: abandoning. Too glurgy with poems that scan badly and have horrifically forced rhyming schemes.

Trying this one via Daily Lit. Will it be too glurgetastic, or will the daily emails inspire me of a morning? I'm not sure yet.
