Once there was an extremely gifted writer named C.W. Gusewelle, whose columns graced the pages of The Kansas City Star. One evening back in 1994 we were once privileged to share a meal with the author and his wife, and we have always appreciated his writings. He produced several books, including this 1988 volume which I have just finished rereading. Gusewelle often wrote about seemingly unimportant things, which -- upon reflection -- were clearly the MOST important things. This book includes 101 columns about his two daughters and his many dogs and cats. And, yes, from the first to the last, there are observations that will bring the tears! If you can find this or any of his books, I'd encourage you to read them.
