Joseph Michael Linsner is most well-known for DAWN, his personal Pin-Up Goddess. After her debut appearance on the cover of CRY FOR DAWN #1 in 1989, Dawn struck a chord with thousands of fans on an international level. She is currently published in six languages and has come to life in the form of statues, action figures, t-shirts, lithographs, lunch boxes and trading cards..An award winning Illustrator, Linsner has painted covers for all of the major comics characters, including Wolverine, Justice League, Conan, and Vampirella. One of his proudest moments was getting to illustrate a short story written by Stan Lee for 'Actor Comics Presents'. Next up for Linsner is 'The White Phoenix & Other Stories' a collection of Dawn short tales, before he starts work on the fourth Dawn graphic novel due in 2013. A beautiful collection of large sized artwork from Mr. Joseph Michael Linsner.

I bought many of the Linsner "Dawn" comics and this though not a collection of of those comics, this is a great representation of his artwork.

The book includes many covers plus over a dozen previously unseen and unpublished paintings. There are also special "how to" sections in which Linsner gives a sneak peek at the production of one of his dazzling Dawn originals.

Linsner also recently announced that he is currently working on the new VAMPIRELLA mini-series: ROSES FOR THE DEAD, for Dynamite.

If interested Mr. Linsner sells artwork on ebay.

Youtube has a video of a guy going through the pages here -->

Image's Dawn creator Josph Michael Linser now has a book full of Dawn art for all of you fan boys and girls out there who have been vying for one. This is the first book collecting the body of work that Joseph himself is proudest of.

Linser praises comics as having saved his life. At an early age he discovered and fell in love with Batman and Conan comics (and others as well he says) and learned to read from their pages (which kept him from getting held back a grade). Currently this artist has returned to the career of self-publishing (publishing portfolios, one shots, prints, art books and things of that nature - all of which are his own). You can find more information on these publications at Linser.com.

Other works (comics/books including this artist) by Linser include: Crib Death & Other Bedtime Stories, Gate Crasher: Ring of Fire 4, Amazing Heroes Swimsuit Issue 4, Amazing Heroes Swimsuit Issue 5, Deadworld Necropolis, Vengeance of the Aztecs, and Mystic. But he is BEST known for Dawn (his own interpretation of a fertility goddess).

This much anticipated volume boasts 176 pages of Linsers very best work, including covers and over a dozen previously unseen and unpublished paintings.

Also included is a special "how-to section" where Linser takes you through the drawing process to the finished paintings.

This book is one of the most terrific buys I've ever made. A must have for any fans of art books or Linser or just the goddess Dawn.

I've loved JML's art for years. He draws women that I like, not skinny with minimal or outlandish curves, but women that are curvaceous, sexy, and the true meaning of "voluptuous" (as opposed to its current connotations): women with curves and hips and hourglass figures and. . .

Wait, what was I talking about?

Oh yeah, the book. So, I like JML's art very very much and have for many years (when I met him to have my copies of this book, I described a lady that I had a romantic interest at the time as having a body like "she was drawn by you and Frank Cho," to which JML raised his eyebrows and said only, "Damn!") I've got so much Dawn stuff (his primary character) here that, if one didn't know she's not real, one might think I've become obsessed with a tall, curvy redhead with odd tears on her eyes. Buying this book when it came out was a no-brainer for me; buying it as a gift for others was also a no-brainer (I like to share the love, after all).

If you're like me, and you like great painted art, pencilled art, or art of any style, I recommend this book. If you like hot women in poses of various styles, I DEFINITELY recommend this book. If you like both of the above, then you should have this book already!
