What I liked about this book was that it had more action than book 1. What I didn't like about it was that the beginning was packed with exposition. I was annoyed at the beginning, wondering when the actual story would start.
I also didn't like the sudden abrupt ending to the book. Yes, we could have probably guessed what happened next, but I think the way a book ends is just as important as the way that it beginnings. Those first few and last few paragraphs are really important. They make a big impression in the beginning, and the last paragraph is how we'll remember the book by.
While I did enjoy the book, I think it needs more work.

I just love this series
I can't believe I waited so long to read this.
Divided is the perfect sequel to Altered
This book does not disappoint!
This isn't your typical zombie novel, no. Think, "The Crazies." Yeah, how scary is that?
"It's the psycho brigade all over again."
They thought the outbreak was contained, well, they were wrong.
Ah! OMG. The suspense, infections, quarantines, action, conspiracies, cover-ups, ROMANCE, I loved it!
This series consumes me. I can't help but feel what the character's are feeling. Whether it's stress, fear, anger, sadness, love. It's perfect, the love these character's feel for one another, is perfect.
"Evie, I love you more than anything in this world, and I'll love you forever..."
This series is my favorite when it comes to "zombie-like/apocalyptic books"
The characters are wonderful. Selfless, heroic, charming, caring, they're perfect.

More rereads!
Dev is gone, and this book is basically Evie trying to get on with life when she’s completely broken.
There are a few different plotlines going and the infection mostly takes a backseat to pining and trying to get in contact with Dev. Because at the end of the day life is still going on, and Evie has school and college to get through. Why is this not always a thing? It makes perfect sense.
It takes a brief little interlude that’s like the calm before a storm before kick butt Evie is activated once more. And again, I loved everything. It’s this sweet high school story about trying college and missing her boyfriend, and it slowly starts to build until there’s a massive explosion of gore and violence and zombie apocalypse. I have read this book at least a dozen times, and I still love how this all comes to be. It’s like being sideswiped every time.
This one does have a cliff-hanger ending, though the next part of Evie and Dev’s story came out after about my eighth reread. But that one still doesn’t have an ending. It leaves on a slightly kinder note though.

Just discovered this is finally out! So excited!! Feels like I have been waiting forever!
Well I finally read it! And it left me hanging!! Now I will have to be a stalker until I get the third book;)
In this book the sentenid blight disease is quickly spreading its chaos to bigger cities across the country. All Evie wants is to see her boyfriend, the wonderful Dev, again. He has been trapped into working with the special forces along with Evie's brother, Harm. This tells the story of mostly Evie as she tries to stay strong and get both her boyfriend and brother back safe. The little amount of romance was very good and sweet, yet bitter at the same time. I can't wait for book 3 to find out the outcome of this semi- cliffhanger.

Awesome 2nd book way to go Kimberly ... I loved the follow up on this series the action the love between them i was truly engrossed in this book and so can not wait a whole year for the 3rd book !!!!

Not your typical YA paranormal romance! The Setenid Blight books are a tale of almost too real apocalyptic proportions. I read the first book in the series, Altered many months ago. It stole my heart from the very beginning. Many months later, I was contacted with an e-mail letting my know that Divided, book 2 was (finally) available. I can honestly tell you that my fascination with YA paranormal romances got it's beginning right here! However, I no longer really see that this series truly fits into that category. You see, we're not talking about the over-done, but always fun vampires, witches, werewolves, etc.
The Setenid Blight Series covers a near adult girl who's going through hell. Literally. When her town suddenly becomes swept with a mysterious infection which turns its victims into murderous psychopaths, all hell breaks loose! Evie (Piper) first must deal with the loss of her parents, the separation from her big brother, Harm... falling for another while actively in a relationship with Jay, who has been - up to this point the love of her life. She finds her soulmate in Devlin, but all hope of happiness is ripped away when she is then forced not to only deal with all of this, but SURVIVE as well! This mysterious infection really hits home for her and she becomes a target early on. The infected lose all sense of humanity, develop the tell-tale unnatural green eyes, and serve one purpose and one purpose alone - to kill and destroy! I know, that sounds a little zombie-like but it's NOT! The infected victims are not brain-less killing machines. They are still the people they were. Just instead of protecting and nurturing those you love, you become hell bent on violently destroying them. It's a pretty scary concept if you think about it. Your brother, sister, friend, husband, parent, CHILD now lives only to kill you with their bare hands and their determination and inhuman strength means that there is next to nothing you can do to stop it.
What makes that even more scary? When the government gets involved! Take every movie you've ever watched about an epidemic illness that sweeps the country, killing hundreds of thousands... how does the gov't react? They down-play it first and foremost. Cover it up even. Then, they try to use it to their benefit. Finally, they cut their losses. Abandon it's citizens, its towns. Quarantine the innocent and healthy, leaving them no hope for survival.
This is what you get in The Setenid Blight Series. AND... MORE! You also get love, perseverance, hope, romance, drama and oh! so many chills. This story literally gives me chills as the insanely talented author, Kimberly Montague lays it all out in a way that you can REALLY picture it all happening to a town near you, to a friend, to YOU! I've recently finished book two and **lucky me** got an advance-reader copy of book three, Manipulated which is due out August 19! I am a crazy busy woman right now, but if even three minutes can be spared, my nose is in this series!
Please, I BEG you, do not hesitate to dive into this so-close-to-reality-it's-scary piece of 'fiction'. I'm going to take it as a personal insult from anybody who doesn't follow this awesome piece of advice!
Follow this amazing, talented author on all of her outlets, and look for her in the future. I really think this is a name you can expect to hear BIG things about in the future!

Divided is the perfect sequel to Altered. It isn’t as fast paced, nor does it contain as much of the creepy as the first book, but it is written appropriately. Love Evie! She is such a strong character; I have never once been annoyed with her. She was a little innocent and confused in the beginning of this series, but it’s fitting and genuine. She has come a long way and I’m so proud of her. My other two favorite characters, Dev and Harm are absent for most of the book, but again, this is realistic for the story.
We do get lots of Gary and Sonya, which are both fantastically supportive friends, and they give me good laughs. I really enjoyed getting more of Sonya’s parents; her dad is just awesome. Kimberly Montague has character development pegged – which is always important to me. This seems to be a struggle for some authors. They either share too much or not enough, or too much is revealed internally and not through interaction. Montague pulls this balance off flawlessly.
I felt all of the emotions in this book and got completely lost in the story. I love a book that has me so wrapped up I’m completely in tune with every sentence, and Divided is most definitely one of those. I am almost at a loss for words where this series is concerned. It’s sooo good.
As I said, there aren’t near as many horror-filled moments as the first, but the when there are they are completely creeptastic. Montague isn’t afraid to be graphic – which bothers some, but not me. LOVE it! That’s probably really weird, but oh well – that’s me. ;)
The romance. Oh man, the romance between Dev and Evie is to die for! They feel so strongly for one another, and would do anything for each other. *sighs* They have one of the best love stories I’ve ever read. It’s like sparks are flying off the pages with these two!
The development of this story is executed excellently. The heroine is a tough chick, but she’s also scared and apprehensive. Evie is just so human, I can’t NOT love her. I recommend this series to anyone who likes a bit of horror mixed in with their romance. I'll be adding the paperbacks of this series to my shelves soon!
Side note: I have the utmost respect for Kimberly Montague as an author. She actually wrote the sequel earlier, but realized it wasn’t true to the story, chunked it, and started over. That takes a lot of guts when you’re under pressure from fans and I think she’s awesome for it.

I don't know how she does it but Kimberly Montague makes me crave Evie and Dev like you wouldn't believe. I want them to find a way out of the horror they're in so that they can be together SO BADLY. I hurt for them, guys. HURT! Evie's emotional breakdown at being apart from Dev made me teary. Dev's shining love for her, the fact that Evie had no pictures of the two of them together... *weeps*
I love that we're getting to see the beginning of the end here. The world is on the verge of falling apart and everyone's trying to go on like it's business as usual. The division between what the government is telling the public is happening and what really is happening is shiver-worthy. Evie, having insider information from both living through the first outbreak and from what Dev has managed to tell her, knows that things are much worse than they seem. Her ability to cull through the information being allowed out of the hot zones and figure out what's what is one of the things that's going to keep her family and friends alive as things go from bad to worse.
The storytelling is heartfelt, the horror is gruesome and the love between Evie and Dev is endless. I am smitten with this series in the biggest way and the ending just about killed me. The lights are about to go out on the world and I plan on having a front row seat!

Another miracle!
With Dev part of the Special Forces (unwillingly part of) and fighting against the Infecteds and probably never returning and not having any contact with family or friends, being his job description, Evie starts to get seriously pissed off.
I mean, who wouldn't? I sure was.
With the massacre that is taking place ACROSS the country, they had to worsen it by removing people from their family and not revealing anything to them and keeping them in the dark.
It sucks. But Evie isn't going to sit around while Harm and Dev plan to either get out of there, or die trying.
This is a story about how love can survive despite distane, time and lack of presence. This is the story of a girl who has lost many her loved one's and strives to keep safe the ones she has left or die trying.
This is the story of love going against all odds and winning.
FIVE stars.
Again, I have to mention the cover! So. Good! The idea about the eyes is brilliant and usually the very first thing that catches your eye and makes you think "Hey, why's the eye the front cover?"
And, I want to add, I think the author has done a great job of keeping the book in pace WITHOUT the presence of the hero.

A few years back I was given the privilege to review the first book for my then blog. I had so loved that book and thought it showed so much promise. Ever since then I had been eager to read the second book but just never found the time. Unfortunately, I just couldn't fall in love with this one. It wasn't bad but it just was missing that special spark that the first one had.
The first third of the book was spent with Evie moping about because of her missing Dev. It is not the authors fault but I'm sick of teen stories with characters ready to die because their soul mate is parted from them. As an adult I can only roll my eyes and see it for what it would be in real life. Married at 18...two kids before age of 22. Divorced before 30 and miserable as all get out. Lets face it insta love and obsessing about your lost "one-true love" till you almost kill yourself is just not realistic nor healthy.
Again this is not a bad book it just isn't as good as the first (which was a 5 star book for me). It also has tropes that I long ago outgrew. But as always you should read the book yourself and form your own opinions :)

This book was just as amazing as the first book in this series! I am so glad I had a chance to read it! In the first book Evie delt with the agony of being in love with someone she could not have because she already had a boyfriend and then when she finally got him, he was ripped away from her and now in this book she is dealing with that loss and the constant wondering how he is and if she will ever see him again! She is kind depressed in this book and she does not really want to deal with life. But with the help of her friends she takes control of her her situation.
The ending was horrible! Or it would have been IF there wasn't going to be any more books about Evie but as it is there will be!!!! I am so happy about that because the book ended with a major cliffhanger!!!

OMG!!! That ending just makes me wanna pull all my freakin' hair out!!! Here I was incredibly engrossed in the book, eagerly getting to end, then bam, the end. I was like, what the... and then reality hit me like a mack truck and I screamed really loud and angry like. I'm sure I scared a few people but I don't care!!! THEN, I tell you, the third book Manipulated is NOT *shouty capitals* about Evie or Dev!!!! Aaaaaaaah. FYI - I would definitely give this book 5 humongous stars if that ending didn't shatter me into a million pieces. Just saying:) I know I'm going to obsess on this for the rest of my life until I get some kind of satisfying closure. Which I'm begging for sooner rather than later.

All I can say is oh my god!! This book had me going crazy with anticipation! The whole book had me itching for Dev and Evie to get reunited but that ending argh! You're killing me Kimberly!! I loved the first book in the series and the second one was even better! I definitely recommend this book. I know you'll love it. My only gripe was the teaser for the third book. I know it's only a teaser and I can't wait for the blurb on the third book because I have to know what happens to Evie and Dev and it looks like some more (new) characters are being added.

4.5 stars for me. I love this series. I am however a little terrified regarding the cliffhanger ending and then finding out the sequel is about different people. I hope we get to find out more about Evie and Dev. Pick up the series and check it out; You'll be in for a ride!

Still loving this series and know there will be another. Craziness galore, but still loved it. The romance wasn't overdone and the crisis at hand is acknowledged throughout the book instead of focusing on the romance and the storyline kind of goes to crap. Looking forward to the next one...

Wish someone would have given me a heads up to there NOT BEING A THIRD BOOK OUT! Ugh. I always do this to myself and never check to make sure the series is complete or out yet. But come on now it's been a few years.. where's my ending to Evie and Dev!!!!! I don't want a book with unrelated characters! I want the ending to this story ! How dare you woman!!
