Ingalls wrote a series of historical fiction books for children based on her childhood growing up in a pioneer family. She also wrote a regular newspaper column and kept a diary as an adult moving from South Dakota to Missouri, the latter of which has been published as a book.
Cosy reading about a family and their quiet life in the woods I enjoyed the detailed descriptions of how they manage to survive there like how they collect food and hunt and store it I also admired the relationship between the parents and their kids especially the way they raised them and taught them the manners, they were lovely
