I would have given it three stars if she hadn't of forgiven him so quickly after sleeping with someone else.

4 SUMMER ROMANCE STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Total escapism.
I really enjoyed reading this book.
Saving Sullivan is a very fun, flirty and entertaining book.

"Because being alone with Sullivan like this is quickly becoming one of my favorite past times."

Abby is smart, cool, self-confident and a no-nonsense type of girl. She really cares for others and accepts them as they are. I very much enjoyed getting to know her.

Sullivan is great, a real character. He has his vices and doesn't like to share much about himself but in his own way he can be a good guy and blossoms with Abby's love.

"Well, if it isn't Mr. Freshly Fucked from the Handicapped Stall himself. This should make for an interesting trip."

Abby and Sullivan have a funny and unforgettable first day but decide to be just friends. Slowly, their relationship becomes much more complex and complicated as the story progresses. Sullivan, of course, finds a way to botch things up but eventually they both learn to forgive and love.

Enjoyable story all around.

I am still trying to sort my feelings out after reading Saving Sullivan, whether to truly be happy for Abby and Sullivan or still vent out my frustration of how the climax happened in this story and how quickly it was just explained away without further repercussions. I really do like the buildup and how strong Abby was portrayed while still being able to be fragile about the people she loves.

Abby is a nursing student who is spending the summer doing her internship at a summer resort. This is the first time she has ever been away from her family- her dad and three brothers. At the airport, she first notices Sullivan who had just literally gotten off in the airport bathroom with a stranger. They end up sitting ext to each other on the plane, and Abby already has him pegged as the womanizing playboy, which he plays to the hilt by being in the mile high club on the flight. Abby immediately knows that she shouldn’t have anything to do with him, and places him the friend zone, which he interprets to be a challenge to get her to sleep with him. He is working at the same resort for the summer, which at this time for reasons unknown since he is affluently of the higher class when he was being described.

They strike up an odd friendship, which gives way to serious sexual tension building between the two, and one night them giving in ad having a friends with benefits arrangement, with growing feelings for each other. Abby proves herself over and over by being there for him, knowing that even if he didn’t talk about it much, didn't have a very good support system growing up.

Then it happens, the moment of contrition for me, what does break them up, and how it was resolved. Cross communications happen because of a friend of Sullivan's not wanting them together, and in a moment of regret later, he cheats on her. I am not a fan of cheating in any storyline, in fact, its one of my least favorite storylines besides a love triangle. what bothered me even more was once it happened, how it got explained away and over in the matter of literally a day. That is my main reason for giving it 4 stars and not 5, but not lower than that, because it still drew me in, and I really wanted them in the end to find their HEA.

I liked how the basic story worked out, that they went from friends to something more, and despite the cheating, they still fought for each other in the end, which makes Sullivan more redeemable in my eyes, that he knew what he would have lost out on if he didn’t let her in all the way with his emotions. Do read this and make your own opinion on what happens with the characters and if you would have been so forgiving so fast. Don’t miss out on Saving Sullivan, I fell in love with Abby and Sullivan and you will too.

This book felt like it was trying too hard. For starters - Sullivan has to fuck two different women in the two hours that Abbie first encounters him - charming. Abbie tries to hard to be sweet, charmingly naive - which just comes across as annoying. Oh and of course she has body betraying syndrome from the start even though she's a virgin. And did I mention she has never had a sip of alcohol. When your eyes are rolling barely two chapters in you know its going to be a long haul.

Spoilers for those who want to know why they should avoid the rest of this shit show:

So Abbie the kind hearted doormat falls for this obvious player, has sex with him, then sees him with another chick and vows to still help him out, since you know he's an addict and that what good nurses do. Oh and cause she's so good - she also has to prioritize calling her family back home in Nova Scotia at the same time. Then she actually catches him the next day in bed with same chick and stays mad one for one whole day - what a toughie she is!!!! Before she forgives him - Cause wait - its his friend and alcohols fault. At this point I am beyond caring what other shit this pathetic chick has to wade through with this douche. Like this asshole won't be cheating the first time she pisses him off or he gets bored.

This got two stars because the writing wasn't terrible and I did like seeing Canada as the setting.

First off I know some people don't like cheating in books I'm not trying to sway you from reading this book because it was really awesome but to me there was a scene that by my definition was cheating. Now Sullivan he can be a gentlemen at times, "he drags his hands down his face. "I'm not a complete a**hole. You take the bed and I'll take the floor." Then there's the side of him that's like a ex addict, "it doesn't take long before I hear his voice again. "You know, I've often wondered if I'm gay. Maybe we should eff, just to make sure I'm straight." Yes that was him trying to make fun of our girl Sam. He's also a heavy sleeper that doesn't mind making himself comfortable, "Sullivan snores quietly and when I try to move out from under his heavy muscled arm, he pulls me in closer and wraps his leg around mind." He likes to visit her at work and surprise her, "I was horny. I couldn't wait anymore." And then there's that tubing incident that's hilarious, "my pants! I have nothing on my a**!" He reached out to sup my naked a** cheeks. "Sullivan, help me find them!" Besides the one scene I didn't like I really enjoyed this book.

Abby is a sweet and caring person who tries to believe the best about everyone. She had to leave home for a few months to go on a nursing internship and thinks this few months away from her family is going to be hard . Abby meets bad boy Sullivan on the plane. She has decided that they will be better off staying friends. Sullivan has agreed but had told her that by the end of the summer she will be wanting him. It doesn't take long for Abby to change her mind about Sullivan. She can't seem to deny the attraction she has and does have sex with him. Abby has been warned that he is a player and will drop her very soon. Despite all the warnings she is still heartbroken when she finds him in bed with another woman. Will she forgive Sullivan or will she just forget him and move on?

This was a great book. I had a really hard time putting in down. It kept me completely interested from the 1st through the last page. The one thing I didn't like was this book needed an epilogue and there wasn't one. I will definitely be reading more from this author

I received an Arc by the author in exchange for an honest review

I'm cringing

giving this five stars. yeah you got it. there's "cheating" or is there. labels were not placed, other than friends, I get that, but still.....bad bad move. the cringe factor takes a whole new meaning though when you sleep with him again the NEXT DAY. SHUDDERS.

BUT, for some reason I got passed. some how this broken man just crawled right in. just like he did for the h, he just had to take root so that I could NOT hate him for what he did anymore than she could, so I forgave the cheating too, just not enough that next day back in the sack moment would have happened.....SHUDDERS. HOWEVER, this book totally served its purpose. it drew me in. it kept me tied down to the story and engaged with the characters. would have loved a dual POV. that would gave totally rocked this book. would have loved more of their new life amongst her family. but I can't complain enough that I can't say I didn't love this read. so. great job

A lot of drama + a touch of a love triangle + broken hearts + damaged souls + healing love = a very enjoyable read.

There was nothing just over the top or crazy original about this one, but that doesn't mean I enjoyed it any less. It kept my attention and fueled my desire to know what is going to happen.

The only thing I didn't like, was the lack of an epilogue. An epilogue should be required. I need a bit more closure.

4 stars!

Such a great love story. Will definitely recommend this book. The author describes her characters so well I could totally picture each and every one. She has a great technique in making each character come to life. The story is fast pacing and saucy. Check it out, it's an AWSOME read!!

~ 3.5 Mixed Feeling Stars ~

I really don't know what to think about this book. On the one hand I really did like the story but on the other, there were some aspects of the storyline I didn't agree with or like.

I will admit that what drew me to this story was because it was written by Sara Hubbard, who also wrote inCAPABLE, which was a story I absolutely loved, so I figured this book would be just as great. I'm sad to say that this book fell short for me. I do still love Sara's writing style. Her stories, even if they aren't 5 stars, still suck you in and I find I have a hard time putting them down.

What really gave me trouble with this book was that I had a real hard time connecting with Sullivan. He took the word badboy/playboy to the extreme. So when it finally comes down to him admitting his feelings I found them hard to believe. Also Sara added some aspects to the story that I don't really like in my books. There are two hard limits for me and they are a love triangle and cheating, and Sara incorporated both of these in this book. The love triangle was a very short lived one, but still there non the less. And as for the cheating….I really can't express my feelings on that one. Some will say there is a fine line when it comes to Sullivan and his indiscretion, but in my eyes it was cheating and I lost some respect for both characters after that scene. I think that is were my disconnect with Abby happened. I felt she forgave Sullivan WAY to quickly and she should've made him grovel more.

Even with all that said, I still found myself invested in this story and I was still holding out hope that Abby and Sullivan got their HEA.

I am not trying to sway anyone from reading this book, I just like to give a far warning to readers who may not like certain aspects of a story, so they go into this knowing what to expect. Just because there were some things I didn't like, I would still recommend this book.

Saving Sullivan is a stand-alone novel, that is a quick read about a sweet girl who is forced to move away from her family for a short time and meets a man who is so not what she would be looking for but ends up falling for. This book is told solely in Abby's POV, I do wish we would've gotten some of Sullivan's POV, because there are times I wanted to know what he was thinking and feeling. Maybe I would've connected to him better had I known what was going on in his head. This book does have a Happy Ending, it's just a rough road to get there.

I'm not going to lie, I LOVED this book. It hooked me from the beginning so I read it in one sitting.

Abby Claire is a sassy, sarcastic nursing student. She is a smart, no nonsense kind of girl. Her heart is huge and she really cares and accepts people for who they are. Sullivan Hope is a HOT, one and done type of guy on the outside. On the inside, he's a tortured soul, who uses alcohol to escape the pain. He's very closed off and won't let anyone in. His life is thrown for a loop when he meets Abby. She somehow brings out the good he has in him. As he starts to fall for her, he gets very spooked. Will Sullivan be able to open his heart to Abby or will he break it for good?

Saving Sullivan is a fun, flirty, HOT, and entertaining story. The character development was fantastic. I just loved Abby and Sullivan. Their first meeting had me laughing so hard. The interaction between these characters is hilarious, especially when they decided to be "just friends." Their relationship grew slowly as the complications smacked them in the face, like a realistic budding relationship. The love and forgiveness was beautiful as Sullivan isn't a settled in boyfriend overnight, so he makes some bad decisions because he is terrified of his strong feelings. My only complaint I had was that it wasn't long enough. I'm hoping we will get to see more of Sullivan and Abby in the near future. I recommend this book with both thumbs up.

Wow, this book. First, I have to say that I usually don't love using the trope of the virgin heroine because I find them to be too goody-goody and judgmental. But not Abby. From the start, it's clear that she is accepting, smart, and cool. I liked her character a lot because she was so no-nonsense and placed more importance on her studies and caring for others than anything else.

Sullivan is also a great character, even though he is not a likeable one at first. I sympathized with him, though, and by the end I was desperate for him to have something good in his life, despite his mistakes.

The only thing thing I didn't love was that, when Sullivan really, really messed up and did something truly terrible, Abby's forgiveness came too easily. It seemed rushed and didn't quite address the emotions there. Also, the dad's change at the end seemed a little too fast at the end, but despite these two small issues, this book was incredible. Really moving, believable, sexy, and romantic.

Saving Sullivan - Sara Hubbard 4 Stars

A really lovely standalone.

Abby is a sweet girl, who loves her father and brothers dearly. She needs to move away for a few months to complete her nursing placement - on her journey there she meets the 'player' Sullivan. Whilst his actions shock and repulse her, as time goes on she still finds the attraction extremely hard to fight. They agree to be friends ...but can they ?

I'm not really into romances but this one was really lovely, drew me in and kept my attention all the way through, I loved Abby's strong and independent character and whilst Sullivan's actions annoyed me my heart broke for him. I've only dropped a star as I felt she forgave him too quickly and it ended a little too suddenly - I would have really liked a little more at the end, maybe an epilogue.

It was a pleasurable read. I liked the protagonist, I just wish the romance took longer to develop - she told herself they'll just be friends and then two days later proclaims her love- and more of her job. Also, I wish the author expounded on the ending a bit more. But a cute read.

I liked that Sullivan and Abby were friends before anything happened between them. I find it endearing that Sullivan really tried with her. It just makes me go AWWWW. I just wished it went a little longer because their story just wasn't long enough for me. I want more! Still a cute book though :)
