Enthusiastic writing, good art, and pertinent ideas. I couldn't recall seeing a monk's handbook prior, so I acquired this one. Mongoose Third Edition books seem to be a superior value to D&D Second Edition handbooks because they can show more possibilities.

Younts deeply contemplated playing a monk and delivered the goods. Ironic that he would claim it was the last word on D20 martial arts, but went on to write TQM 2, detailing upper-level prestige and Monk class advancement subjects.

Hats off to Ian Barstow since I felt no urge to edit this supplement. I recommend this to the monk player, but more to the DM, as a source of Oriental Adventure seeds. If you feel the urge to write a monk fantasy story, this book is an excellent reference.
