Clifford A. Wright is a cook, cookbook author, and independent culinary historian who won the James Beard Cookbook of the Year award and the Beard award for the Best Writing on Food for A Mediterranean Feast in 2000.
I asked for the vegetarian cookbook some like it hot for xmas. I was given this one. I do eat meat and I like spicy, so I gave the book a chance. Some of ingredients were just really hard to come by and I wasnt hugely impressed with the book. I also try to keep my cooking really healthy. It just wasnt for me. I ended up selling it to half price books.
seemed very gimmicky, but the recipes seem great, the historical asides are unintrusive, and the layout is pretty obvious - making for ideal last minute decisionmaking.
