AN EASTER PRAYER TOUCH AND FEEL is the most adorable little baby book ever. Babies will enjoy touching the bunny's fur, the velvet of a flower, the smoothness of an eggshell and more.
It is geared more toward springtime than why Christians celebrate Easter, so technically it is a thank God for springtime theme, but it is adorable and would make a great gift for baby's first springtime.
This is a great book for preschool age kids. Between the touch & feel pieces on each page, the colorful illustrations and the cute rhyming on each page I imagine it will be loved this spring around Easter time. There are lots of cute illustrations featuring rabbits, baby chickens and frogs, along with a great little rhyming story about the beauty of spring and the story of Jesus. A great board book for Easter.
Thank you to the publisher, Thomas Nelson, for sending me a review copy of this book.
This sweet Easter prayer book simply couldn’t be more adorable or precious! It’s perfect for explorative infants and toddlers who enjoy the different sensations a touch and feel book has to offer. With a fuzzy cover and unique textures inside, this prayer book is my favorite addition to my daughter’s Easter basket as we look forward to celebrating her first Easter this year.
An Easter Prayer shares short prose with a new setting and colors on each page. The adorable illustrations with delightful colors will melt your heart as Bunny and her new friend, Chick, offer little bits of thankfulness to God for the wonders of spring. I adore that the book encourages an attitude of gratitude for various springtime delights and highlights that being most thankful for Jesus.
Reading this book with my ten month old daughter is an excellent way to impress the true meaning of Easter on her heart at a young age. I feel certain this will be an Easter/Spring favorite for years to come.
The quality and thickness of the board book pages are impressive and I highly recommend this book as a gift for new parents/babies, an Easter basket addition for toddlers or a baby shower gift for babies due this spring!
An Easter Prayer is an adorable touch-and-feel children’s book written by Amy Parker and illustrated by Alison Edgson. The words of the book focus on giving thanks to Jesus. It is a board book, and each of the twelve pages shows a chick and bunny in a cute scene. The rhymes are well-written, the drawings are endearing, and the book as a whole is wonderful.
Each page has a different area that you can touch and feel; on one page, for example, you can feel the fluffy chick (which feels a little bit like a soft rug), and on another, you can feel the smooth, leather-like “water.” My favorite touch-and-feel object was the soft purple flower. This would be a great book to put in a young child’s Easter basket. Though I received this book for review, I plan on buying a few additional copies.
This is a sweet little touch-and-feel board book written by Amy Parker, illustrated by Alison Edgson, and published by Thomas Nelson. This adorable book celebrates the spring season as well as the day Jesus lives again. It has sweet little rhymes that go along with this little bunny and chick, as they explore the many different ways to enjoy spring and Easter. This would make a wonderful easter gift for any child's Easter basket.
I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers book review program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
This is a perfect length book for the toddler or baby in your life. It has a cute rhyming scheme that is set-up like a prayer for Easter. I loved the concept of the book and the story itself, but the touch-and-feel part was really weird to me. The textures didn’t match the pictures well (for example, there was a circle blob of felt for where grass should’ve been I assume). My toddler won’t know the difference, but I thought it was poorly done.
I really enjoy the cuteness and shorter story. The book is great for little hands and makes a perfect Easter treat especially if you read it outloud. I am so happy to be able to share it with my kids this year and would recommend it to a faith based family that celebrates Easter.
“For new life blooming all around, For family and friends … But most of all for Jesus, Your Son who lives again,” the story ends in Amy Parker’s children’s book, An Easter Prayer.
~ What ~ At twelve pages, this Touch and Feel board book with a soft oval cut-out on its cover targets children ages two to five years old. With no scary scenes, it is a nice compilation of animals and flowers celebrating spring and the risen Christ. Full page color illustrations are on the open pages containing small areas of fabrics or finishes to feel.
Written in rhyme with some complicated wording, this tale involves a baby chick and bunny who thank God for Easter and spring. They hop and play in the sun and rain, plus watch new chicks being born. The readers can touch the circles and feel the supposed objects.
~Why ~ Our two-year-old grandson loves looking at board books, especially if they contain baby animals. The illustrations of the critters are cute and pleasant, especially the bumblebee that circles adorable baby chicks and bunnies on each opened page.
~ Why Not ~ Those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ may not approve of this book. Others may find it is limited in its story since it is only eight pages. Beginner readers may struggle with some of the more complicated wording.
~ Wish ~ I wish there were more ovals beside the seven that include rabbit fur, eggshell, chick feathers, shiny blue “water,” flower felt, grass strip, and rainbow sparkles.
~ Want ~ If you are looking for a book to read at Easter, this one is cute as it vaguely mentions the real reason for the spring celebration.
Thanks to Book Look Bloggers for this complimentary book that I am under no obligation to review.
An Easter Prayer by Amy Parker and illustrated by Alison Edgson is an adorable touch and feel book to help teach little children about the new life of spring. Amy Parker has written another wonderful story for children, this one to teach them to be thankful.
This is an adorable book for families with little ones. It is a sturdy board book with cute brightly colored pictures. The story helps to teach little ones to be thankful for all things, especially Jesus. With just twelve pages, this book is a good length for little ones. Each set of pages includes a cut out with a different texture insert for little children to touch and feel. With textures like, bunny's fur, chick's feather, a smooth egg, velvety soft tulip, and the shiny ray of God's love, the child will enjoy this book for a long time. For the child that likes to look for things within the pages, they will be able to follow the bunny, chick and little bee through out the entire story. This would make a great Easter gift for a young child. I received a copy of this book from Tommy Nelson through the BookLook blogging program. This is my honest review.
MOMMY: The illustrations are soft and sweet so they perfectly accompany this rhyming prayer. We thank God for all the things that springtime brings but most of all for Jesus.
PEANUT: 3 1/2 yrs old. The little chick being born perfectly coincided with the chicks being born at his preschool so that was an extra bonus. He liked the pictures and would repeat the lines after I read them, like he does with prayers. Peanut thought the little chick with it's galoshes, egg shell umbrella and bumble bee friend were especially fun.
An Easter Prayer is a hard back book for children by Amy Parker. It's a touch and feel book that the grandchildren reached for as soon as they saw it. A sweet bunny and chick made the cover a book they instantly wanted to explore. The book is rhyming and has delightful illustrations. The touch and feel of a soft bunny and silky flower petals and others were fun to find on the pages. A nice message of Spring and Easter. I received a copy through the Book Look Bloggers program, no review was required. My review is voluntary.
