Αρκετά ενδιαφέρουσα δουλειά.

Είναι προσιτό ανάγνωσμα τόσο σε μελετητή της Ιστορίας όσο και σ'έναν απλό ενδιαφερόμενο της περιόδου.Βέβαια,δεν θα το πρότεινα για μοναδικό εγχειρίδιο σε φοιτητή ή υποψήφιο που επιθυμεί να μάθει εις βάθος τις εποχές&τα γεγονότα,καθώς ο τρόπος γραφής και παρουσίασης γίνεται με μια δόση κριτικής ματιάς που προυποθέτει ένα υπόβαθρο γνώσης των λεπτομερειών των εκάστοτε γεγονότων.
Στα θετικά στοιχεία όμως περιλαμβάνονται: η ύπαρξη χαρτών,τα μικρά και σύντομα κεφάλαια σχεδόν για κάθε θεματική από το 1815-1989,επιπλέον βιβλιογραφία,ακόμα και πρόσφατης χρονολογικά,για περαιτέρω μελέτη στο τέλος κάθε κεφαλαίου.

This is a fantastic book for those who are relatively new to the history of Europe. It covers vast majority of questions and analyze different dimensions. The fundamental questions were:
* The Identity of Europe:- This was the fundamental question of the entire book. This book explains it in different debates and historical events since 1915.
* The Question of Empires:- In the nineteenth and twentieth century mostly empire rules the Europe e.g The Russian Empire, The British Empire, The French Empire, The Habsberg Empire and so on and so forth.
* The Jewish question:- This was very important and the author explains how Jews of Europe faced problems which peaked in Nazi's Germany.
* The World Wars:- Those were basically civil wars of Europe which killed millions of people.
* The Question of Women:- Since world war 2 their question of participating in every walk of life was palpable.
* The Question of Germany:- The question East and West Germany and the horrors of Nazi Germany faced by Non- Germans and Jews.
* The Question of Communism vs Capitalism :- The cold war between Soviet Union and America took siege of entire Europe until Soviet Union's collapsed.
It a must read book and i recommend it to everyone.

Kindle version very poor technology.
At the end of each chapter book jumped immediately to title page of the next chapter. Made it extremely frustrating to read. Very difficult to get back to first page of the chapter. Otherwise a good history of Europe.

A marvelous sweeping overview of European history over the last two centuries. No particular historical event is given excessive attention, as would be expected given the large scope of material covered, but important turning points, shifts and trends are consistently highlighted. Well written and engaging, highly recommended.
