Complete with foolproof parenting strategies for handling tricky situations, this book also braces you for the years to come, which will be full of head banging, temper tantrums, and restless days.
The first twelve months are make-or-break when it comes to parenting and Dude, You're a Dad is your guide to making sure that nothing gets broken.
Read enough of this book to know that the author is one disgusting man. His reference to mothers as babyMaking Partners, constant sexualisation, making horrid jokes about women’s body. This guy thinks he is funny, but he is nothing but a horrible partner and sexist person. I would go out of my way to tell every expecting parents to avoid this book.
Got this book as a gift when my wife and I were expecting. Great book with a lot of really great advise, both for handling the big changes that were happening personally, as well as a lot of practical advise when it comes to the baby’s development, safety, and things we need to do as she grows older. Will definitely gift this book to my friends and family as they become dads!
1.5. very basic overview. "This will happen," with no explanation. If it's your first parenting book, it will ease you into what to expect. If you've already learned a bit about parenting, you can skip this one.
If you're going to be a new dad, this is the book to read. I would say this book is rather basic, but it's meant to be a book that pushes you to face the reality of the special event in the upcoming months. I enjoyed the humor and witty comments.
Disgusting book with absolutely vile opinions on pregnancy. Why bother getting someone pregnant and then complain that they look pregnant? This author needs offing. Men really do shoot themselves in the foot - not all men yeah?
Awesome primer book for men who have no idea what they’re doing for their first kid. Can’t wait to put some of his ideas into practice in a few months!
Pretty good overall guide I feel, probably could have been sorted a little better but had good information. A couple things I have some contention with in the True or False sections, but I think it was well done overall. His humor was a little hit or miss but got better throughout the book I felt with less reaching.
Recommended for new dads who're still figuring out what just happened!
While general parenting advice can be found in a lot of places - it's the calm and friendly way in which John put across content in his books that helped with emotional comfort not found online or talking to other people.
The book was well handled and flowed well. Every in's-outs-and about's of all things related to being a father. It was well humorous with a nice touch. A very well handled piece of a parenting book.
