Speechless. I just finished the book and I literally cannot get out of the emotions the book gives me. It has led me through the magnificent mountains and forests, through rural and urban areas, to meet thousands of animal and botanic friends, to learn the unspeakable history of this island, and most impressively, the ups and downs of the characters' memories, emotions and life stories. The book cheers me up and makes me sad at the same time. It teaches me to always keep hope but meanwhile, to always know that life is fragile and that do not miss any chance to convey love and appreciation to others as well as to nature.
Oh what a book! I haven't seen any that combines so many topics (forestry, religion, folktale, mountaineering, history, war, etc.) The poetic language is also very fascinating. For example, - How long does it take to get here? - A sun, a moon, a river and six mountains
However, I think some plots are arranged poorly. Like in the beginning, a 18yo girl left her family and friends for a man on the first sight. The man is depicted as neurodivergent but spiritual whom I thought he's also young. But it's revealed later that he is over 30! To end the story, the author used a very lame reason to alienate the two! He makes the girl believe that the man had an affair with her friend. This is too horrible!
