Amanda Stone was born and raised in the foothills of eastern Kentucky. She loves being from, and living in, this beautiful state so much that she decided to move to a small little town that is—no pun intended—called, Lovely.

When Amanda is not writing, or reading, she is a mom to two wild little kidlets, a wife to her junior high/high school sweetheart and keeper of a house full of animals. (Technically, its two dogs and a cat, but if it was up to her husband those numbers would be dramatically bigger.)

A late bloomer, Amanda, never discovered her love for reading until late 2008 and couldn’t stop reading anything and everything she could get her hands on after that. Almost four years to the day she picked up and read her first full-length novel, with some convincing from friends and family, she decided to write her very own novel, Breathe into Me.

She is currently working on the second book in the Breathe into Me series titled, Come Back to Me, which will be followed up by the third and final book in the series, Never Let Me Go.

Kane

Kelsey

The only thing that Kelsey wants is a new life.

The last six years she is trying hard to escape from the place that held her darkest memories and the pain that her caused her. However she never believed that a guy like Kane would be interested in her.She wants to believe that she is not attracted to him because he seems to be the player type but as she states he is the epitome of sex appeal.

How not to get butterflies in stomach when someone like him is interested in you?

Their relationship is very beautiful. They fit together like a piece of puzzle and Kane will definitely surprise you.

When I close my eyes to sleep ...
all I see is your beautiful face.

Kane has a reputation . One that he is not proud of but now he's changed. He doesnt want to be that guy anymore and he is utterly devoted to Kelsey.

I loved a lot this book but I rated it with 4 starts because it was quite predictable in some points.I have to admit though that I never expected that twist during the last chapters.
It left me speechless and full of emotions.

I wish I could fly like that.

Okay- now that we covered that, I can get to my review of Amanda Stone’s debut novel- Breathe Into Me.

Over the past six years I had changed from the carefree, outgoing girl I had once been, to being a shell of my former self. While I missed that part of me and wished I could get her back, I couldn’t help but think she was gone forever. That girl had been stolen from me.

 photo fa5886fc-db93-41f1-b7f6-6e256e5bb984_zps82bc2f5f.jpg

Kelsey is starting her freshman year at college. Starting over. She is getting away from her past, away from her hometown. Everyone there knows about her. She needs a fresh start. Going with her only family, her best friend Jessi, Kelsey is ready to start living her life. Her first night at school, and Jessi talks her into going out with her. While she is at the local college bar, she runs into Kane.
He’s probably the best looking guy I’ve seen in a while. Who am I kidding? He’s probably the best looking guy I’ve seen in all my life.

Kane has ‘bad boy’ written all over him. Tattoo’s, pierced lip, striking gray eyes, and the sexiest dimples, Kelsey is instantly attracted to him. But she knows she shouldn’t be. Jessi starts seeing Kane’s best friend Landon so Kelsey and Kane start spending a lot of time together and develop a friendship. It’s good for Kelsey, she doesn’t have many other friends besides Jessi.

The more time she spends with Kane, the more she realizes he is not the bad boy she first thought. He may have been at one time, but things happen. People change. Kelsey knows that all too well. Kelsey and Kane start to develop real feelings for one another. The more they share, the more they realize they have more in common than Kels ever imagined.
 photo db39d183-8092-47c5-be48-1e6b21b54c1e_zpsa5409486.jpg

I loved Kelsey and Kane’s relationship. Kane was so good to her, and they were both open with each other. My heart broke for both of them at times, but Kane was able to do something no one else had been able to do in the past six years. He was able to bring Kelsey back to life. They brought out the best in one another.
There is no going back for me. I never thought my heart was capable of these feelings until you. You shine so bright, and so warm, that you melted the ice I had around my heart and made me feel again.

Kane was a sweet and lovable guy with the exterior of a sexy bad boy. The perfect combination! Kelsey had issues, but she was funny, clumsy, unsure of herself. She was real. And how could you not love Jessi? She was such a great friend to Kelsey. Also Kane’s Paw and Maw- they were awesome! I really enjoyed this one. The only negative I have is that I feel like the ending was a bit rushed. Everything was going great, then the last 10% or so too much happened. I wish there would have been more time Overall, an impressive debut novel about friendship, love, two broken people finding one another and healing. Plus you will love Kane! Kane is a new name to go on the book boyfriend list :D I give it a solid 4 stars.

3 BROKEN HEART STARS.

Firstly, let's give it up for damaged shy girl digs dimpled bad boy from across the room, on a chance first meeting ...

Yeh you know I love it, from my first glance at a review of this book I Knew, just KNEW I would be oh so predictable and fall a little in love with this book, it's characters and the love story.

So what's it all about? ... Shattered memories, regrets, pain, friendship, finding the one person who can love you despite your brokenness.

This is a simple story with enough Mystery and intrigue to make it interesting enough. The story builds and relationships develop nicely. There isn't anything too outstanding about this story, but there is likeable characters and a well rounded story line. I enjoyed this story enough, but it goes on the same pile as a lot of this genre, an average sweet read about college love, with some heart ache and painful pasts to add to the mix.

The story is told from our heroines POV, lots of the story is told from her broken hearted dialogue, Kelsey was a victim of witnessing the domestic violence towards her mum. The background story to this character was nothing short of horrendous. The story follows her journey of moving on with her life and meeting bad boy, tattooed, pierced Kane. A friendship starts which turns into the twosome finding each other through their own difficulties.

description

Some minor errors and editing issues throughout, nothing too off putting. All in all a likeable enough story with a loveable hero which makes it all the more worthwhile.

3 solid stars ❤ I can never resist a bad boy.

Again, my most repeated dilemma has occurred with this novel as well.
The idea behind the story was very good, it has great potentials but unfortunately the execution was not very good. It was immature and extremely gullible. For me There was nothing there...

Although it is 306 pages i felt like it was very short, and rushed, and there was no events really, a lot of events were irrelevant- don't ask me to give examples because i didn't even bother to write notes, and i forgot most of it :/
sad isn't it ^^^

There are book you read and you move on but you still think about them even after months of reading them , and there are other books you want to move on and never think of them WHILE reading them...

This book was in between .

Do i recommend this book to you?
If you are bored and want an easy, dull, boring read, then yes go for it.

Often in our lives we have these moments... Moments which we replay in our minds, think of things we could have changed, could have said, could have NOT said... Moments which could've changes the outcome of that 'Moment'

Kelsey Rein is an 18year old girl, a girl whose life has changed because of 1 of those moments... The moment that changed her and changed her life...

6years ago Kelsey's father murdered her mother right infront of her. The day Kelsey decided enough was enough, she couldn't take her father beating her mother anymore. She watched as her father squeezed the light out of her mothers eyes, her last breath.

Now Kelsey is a college freshman, determined to start a new life with her best friend, away from the town who now looks at her differently.

When she sees Kane for the first time, something draws her to him..

Their best friends begin dating which makes Kelsey spend time with Kane.
I love how Kelsey is a real girl who wears converse sneakers, eats burgers if she wants to.

A relationship which starts with friendship like Kelsey and Kane is a lasting one.
Kane is a tatted up boy who looks like a bad boy with all his piercings. When you get to know him he is the sweetest soul you would ever meet.

"all I needed was one tiny puff of air. Kane was my air."

As the story evolves you see that Kelsey and Kane both have has traumatic pasts and perhaps its what draws them together. Kane helps Kelsey accept that what happened to her mother was not her fault.

Kelsey is faced with the biggest monster of her past but Kane gets her through it.

"You feel that? You make it do that. When my mom died I never thought I would be able to breathe again, let alone have my heart beat again, but then I met you and you stole that last amount of breath I had and breathed a new life into me. You are a part of me now. This is right, please don’t question that.”

Kelsey experiences things she never thought she would have.. Sweet kisses, butterfly moments.

"I never thought I would have someone like you in my life, Kelsey. Maybe there was a reason for me waking up and becoming a better person. Maybe it was because all along I was meant to find you and the person I was before wasn’t worthy of having you. But I swear, now that I have you, I’m never going to let you go"

"I don’t think I will ever get enough of you, Kels. I’m addicted, and there is no going back for me. I never thought my heart was capable of these feelings until you. You shine so bright, and so warm, that you melted the ice I had around my heart and made me feel again.” He leaned forward, rested his forehead against mine and took a deep breath that he held for a minute before slowly blowing it out. “I love you, Kelsey"

This book has its own share of drama, albeit not too deep and somewhat predictable but sometimes that's good too!

**I recieved an ARC in exchange for an honest review**

First off, let me say that Amanda Stone did an *amazing* job with her debut novel. The story flowed seamlessly & the characters, along with the overall story line, were incredibly well developed.

Kelsey Rien moves away from her home town with her best friend Jessi in an attempt to escape a tragic past. She decides that college is her new beginning & that its time to make new memories. Lucky for her, those new memories include the sexy tattoed bad boy Kane Riley, with his smoldering grey eyes & sexy as hell lip ring. After more than one 'coincidental' encounter, Kelsey soon learns that Kane has a tragic past of his own & by some twist of fate he is able to help her come to terms with the tragic events of her own life that took place 6 years earlier. Just when Kelsey learns to trust Kane, tragedy once again finds her & brings along with it her demons from a life she desparately tried to leave behind.

Kelsey is one of those characters that you immediately resonate with - she's cute, shy, clumsy & at times so awkward its funny. She's also incredibly brave for someone so young & carries so much pain & guilt on her small shoulders. Her best friend Jessi is my favourite 'Book Bestfriend' because she's unconditionally supportive & loving when it comes to Kelsey. In many ways, Kelsey learns to step out of her comfort zone & with Kane, she finally learns to live again.

Kane.... what do you say about sexy bad boys with tattoos & lip rings that will actually do them justice? Kane was probably the biggest surprise. He has a 'tough-as-nails' attitude but once he lets his guard down he is one of the sweetest & most sincere people. It was unexpected but so refreshing & he absolutely adores Kelsey - something she had yet to experience after all the pain & loss she's had to deal with. Kane has also had a tragic past & in sharing that with Kelsey, he is able to not only deal with it better, but he is also able to help Kelsey open up. He also proves that he's willing to go to any length to protect her, even if it means giving up his own life.

This is a story about loss, forgiveness, trust, love & self-discovery. It teaches you about first loves & what 'Forever' is really made of. Kelsey & Kane will consume you long after you've turned the final page <3

Amanda, you've set the bar for yourself ;) I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next!

Okay, not much to say. I didn’t love it but I didn’t hate it. I’ll probably forget the names and details within a week so, here I'll tell you about it while I can remember.

Tattooed, reformed bad boy, man-whore, Kane, is hot and irresistible. Obvs.

Kelsey, the hot but doesn’t know it, clumsy, broken girl is the instant love connection with Kane.

Yes, mega instalove.

Yes, one has grey eyes and one has golden. (At least the h admitted that people had never seen the color of her eyes before. Well, that makes two of us.)

Yes, he drives a motorcycle and it is her first time on a bike.

Yes, she is a virgin. (I know, insert eye roll)

Yes, there is over-the-top, yet predictable, drama. It just happens to be all crammed in the last 30 pages.

Sigh.

I found Breathe Into Me to be predictable, typical, and just like so many of the other NA/CR books that I’ve read or that are on my TBR shelf.

This was an unexpectedly good reading.
This is not an original story. It’s your traditional NA book where two broken souls found each other. But that doesn't mean that is not good. On the contrary, it’s really good.
Kelsey and Kane are two persons with a traumatic past, with trouble trusting other people and opening up. They both just want to be able to get rid of the guilt they feel about what happened and finally be free.

description
Like two similar broken souls looking for the same thing they are drawn to each other the first time they meet. Some call it love at first sight.
And as the time passes and their romance grows they realize that maybe need each other to finally move on and be free.

description
I loved the evolution of their romance: It was sweet, it was very realistic and so good to read. There are also very sweet grandparents, great best friends, really stupid people, really bad people and the perfect amount of drama and good steamy scenes.
A little predictable sometimes but that doesn't really hurt the quality of the book.
And not to forget: The hero is a sexy, tattooed, lip pierced guy with dimples. Yes, dimples. So just for that the book is worthy!

Go read it people. :)

Just shoot me in the head.

A coworker and I decided to form our own book club based on covers. He wanted to be introduced to the new adult genre and I suggested this one. The cover was a little cheesy, some young adult, and a lot new adult all mixed up. Seemed like my kind of book!

Barf.

I must start off this review by discussing the awful writing. The author should be ashamed of herself by attaching her name to this. Does she not have any pride in her work? This book was filled with spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and straight up missing words!

“‘What’s up Kane?’ Nate smiled at him, and again Kane didn’t return the smile.’”

Like what’s up his ass? Oh, he was addressing him by name. Gotcha. Oi. Punctuation matters!

Or how about this gem: “As far as I was concerned I hate no father.”

Yeah, she meant have no father. The author either didn’t have an editor or the person lacked basic language skills. It felt like each page had an error. I knocked off two stars just for that alone.

And the winking!

“…she finished with a wink.”

“…stared straight at a table of decent looking guys sitting across the café and winked.”

“Oh god, did he have to wink?”

“She looked at me and gave me a quick wink.”

Total wink count: 24.

description

Aside from the dreadful writing, I detested the clichés. Granted, the entire genre of new adult seems to be made up of clichés - but this one takes the cake.

I hated Kelsey. I wanted to like her – I even tried to like her – but ultimately her character was shallow and annoying. While I felt for her past, it was brushed over so quickly it made it difficult to connect with her. Then, upon learning of her wretched home life, I figured she would at least understand that looks could be deceiving.

Nope.

“‘Well still, I don’t get involved with guys who whore around.’”

Uh ice princess, much? The guy barely had time to say hi before she was judging him into oblivion. Yet, less than thirteen days later, she had different thoughts on him.

“That I was with someone as attractive as Kane and that I was finally learning to live life again.”

Wait – hold the phone. You’re contributing the fabulousness of your life to the hotness of you boyfriend? Not his sparkling personality or his ability to overcome difficult obstacles? Seriously?

Kelsey, you are one superficial chick.

Her relationship with Kane didn’t endear her to me either. The virgin (cliché #81), after blowing him off, decided she wanted to be friends. Then a day later, they kiss. Then the next day, they’re making out. Two weeks later, they’re sleeping together.

“‘I want it to be with you, Kane.’”

Bitch, you’ve known him five seconds!

If that wasn’t stupid enough, the sex scenes made me gag.

“Kane raked his teeth across my nipple and my body exploded into a million different pieces.”

I’m pretty sure that only happens on Grey’s Anatomy.

description

The romance was boring, but the sex scenes were laughable. I can’t get over how bad they were. I think she had eight orgasms their first time together.

Not even Kane was redeemable. He was the tattooed, pierced thug that really had a heart of gold. Except, not really. The author gave him tattoos and relied on that to make him a bad boy. That his reputation followed him so much when he reformed months before he met her didn’t make sense to me. This feels like the interpretation of an inexperienced fifteen year old. Piercing and tattooed = bad person. Uhhh yeah. Okay. No.

The side characters were so underdeveloped and dull that they don’t even warrant a full discussion.

Finally, the ending was the cherry on top of a crappy sundae. Along with being predictable, it happened so fast it became disjointed from the rest of the book. This was about their romance. The author should have focused on Kelsey, Kane, and their college drama and kept the homicidal father out of it.

If you are presently on a new adult kick (like me), skip this one.

Don't get me wrong. I started this book with all the best intentions, and looking at the rate i thought that it's gonna be a interesting and romantic book. just like I'd like it to be.

I was wrong, yes this book is romantic, but in a way of creepy romantic. come on, you can't tell all your secrets like the tragic loss of your mother, after how? 3 weeks? to an unknown person?

and OMG, all the dialogues... seriously? 20yo talk like that? perfect said at the perfect time, always? every time???

it's everything too fictional, and so so so far away from the real life that I can't bear to read another word.

I'm sorry for this review, and usually I really don't post them, but the disappointment is too big, and in my opinion the rating it's not right for this book.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

This book was amazing. This is the first book for this author and I can't wait to get my hands on another one of her books. Kane is...oh my word how to describe perfection. oh there we go I just did! He is for sure going down in the books as an amazing good "bad boy". He is so sweet and kind and loving. Then there is the messed up Kelsey, poor girl. Had a bad childhood, but meeting Kane changes her obviously! If I met Kane I would be a changed women too! The twist in this book are unlike anything I have read and I read a lot. The build up your thinking "what is he gonna do to mess this up...what will separate them?" Well let me tell you there is nothing you are thinking that will come close to what actually happens! I was like "no freken way...This is not happening!" Then with in a few pages your like "WHAT!!!!" and then your throwing your kindle because you can't take it. No worries it's nothing you can't handle. No cliff hangers and your heart will be mended, as long as you did not break you Kindle or whatever e-reader you have...May I suggest not throwing your stuff, just maybe stomp your foot like a petulant child! Anyway this is a must read...in fact I will go read it again...yes that good! Enjoy

3.5★'s. This is another one of those books that keeps you turning the pages, you route for the relationship the entire book and bam, you hit the end and your kind of like "what just happened?". I enjoyed the whole story. Broken girl wanting new life, broken "bad" boy rebuilding his reputation and his life, the two finding each other etc. It worked. They were pretty functional and communicated the entire book and were really good for each other. And then the drama got thrown in, but it got thrown in like in the last two chapters and I was kind of like what? Aside from the end that just kind of seemed to be thrown together, a few editing issues that are like whatever, I liked the story and the characters. Glad I read it.

3.5 stars!!

A fab debut book from Amanda Stone. I was hooked from the beginning and had to finish in one sitting…you knew something was building but you had to wait till the end…I did feel that the ending was a bit rushed but still really enjoyed it.
Kane…hmmmm yum yum yum..gorgeous, bad boy, biker dude with gray eyes, tats, piercings and has the most lovable grandparents ever!! My fave grandparents yet!! Kane was a bad boy, his parents died..he spiralled out of control, did lots of things he regretted including lots and lots of gratuitous sex with all and sundry, hence the player bad boy rep he has going. However, Kane has changed, he dragged himself up with the help of his grand parents, removed himself from the “bad” in his life, enrolled back in school, got a job, got a new apartment and was just trying to get himself back on track. As Kane finds out, as he keeps himself to himself now, people are not so willing to let his reputation disappear with the old Kane.

Kelsey is extremely damaged, she decides to move away from her past and the pity to go to uni with her best friend Jessie (and a fab best friend she is too). She wants to get the old Kelsey back and tries her best to make it happen..Kelsey has a lot of guilt over her mothers death, which her father was then put in prison for and this back story is revealed eventually. Kelsey keeps bumping into Kane around campus and they both cannot get each other out of their heads, eventually they speak, make friends and become each others confidantes..this friendship does not last long as they soon realise that it is a friendship they both want but a lot lot more..both have never dated so it is a learning curve for them both. As in any real life relationship there are ups and downs, angst, stupid decisions and misunderstandings..but will all be ok in the world???? You will just have to read and see.. throw in a really freaky study partner and the shock of all endings and you will be dragged into the book as quickly as I was.

The romance side was beautifully written could be very super sweet at times, but as Kelsey was a novice at all things male it was justified..Kane was so believable in this book, he took his time with Kelsey which is just what she needed and I think deep down he needed it too. Loved the tattoo, so sweet. Loved the relationship between Jessie and Landon and so glad that Landon stepped in when required to stand up for Kane, being best friends since diapers he knew that for Kane this was different and stood up for him when needed.

Great first book, cannot wait to read more from this author.

So very meh. Another NA where there is an introduction to show attraction and then the h tells us how wonderful the H is and recaps a period of time in which she has learned about him. Now she is half way in love and at this point the author can move the story along and give us the obligatory scenes where the H says all these passionate things and shows his possessiveness blah blah blah.

There is also the standard tragedy in the h's life so we can hear over and over and over again how damaged she is blah blah blah.

But the ending is what really took the cake.

2 stars because there were scenes between the H and the h that I liked. But the story was predictable, and then completely ridiculous at the end. The dialogue was often awkward and I didn't feel a connection to any of the characters except the H on occasion. And that was because he, as the tortured lead, had to bare his soul and become vulnerable so we could all swoon over his love for the h. Nice words but the emotion behind it was lacking.

IMO, the lack of connection was because the author skimmed when an emotional connection could have been developed by delving deeper and using some of the thousands of words in the book to develop characters instead of harping about the h and her damaged past and how she use to be. This way, as a reader I could connect to them and maybe they could feel genuine.

And BTW so much was made about the H hating this one guy but that hate was never explained. Why make a big deal out of it just to drop it in the end. Huh?

I wasn’t like your average eighteen year old. I had seen things that had changed me, broke me. It would take a special kind of man to love a person as broken as me.”

Six years ago a horrific tragedy happened to Kelsey Rien that forever changed her life.
She is no longer the boy crazy outgoing teenager, but a shell of her former self.
The only person that has stuck by her side is her highly boy crazy, flirtatious, best friend Jessi.

They have made the move from their small town to College.
Where no–one knows what happens to Kelsey, no one stares at her with pity.

A new start.
A fresh start

On the first day, in a café she see’s a stranger with a set of eyes that she knows will haunt her dreams.
They weren’t just gray; they were almost silver. It was almost as if they shined. I had never in my life seen eyes like his.

Those eyes turn out to belong to the tattoo covered, lip pierced, motorcycle riding, college bad boy Kane Riley.

As Jessi and Landon (Kane’s best friend) start dating Kane and Kelsey become close. She feels safe with Kane.

Landon’s brother is a tattoo artist, and Kelsey and Jessi decide that as they have always wanted one to go and get one.

Kelsey doesn’t tell Kane the meaning behind her tattoo, but it has him even more intrigued with the shy bombshell.
 photo tattoo_zps6eb36325.jpg

Everyone has told her of his reputation. “Wham Bam thank you Ma’am”
Even her good friend and stuffy buddy Nate tells her to be wary. Kane and Nate used to be frat brothers together until Kane went off the deep end.

But the more time she starts spending with him, the more she see’s that he is not that guy anymore.
Things happen and people change.
It’s a fact of life.

As they start to fall for each other, Kelsey comes out her shell more and more.

”Kelsey,” he whispered, “I’m sorry I just did that, I want to kiss you so fucking bad right now. I have wanted to for so long, and I don’t think I can tell myself no any longer. But if you say no, then I will somehow find the strength to not crush my mouth to yours and make you forget every problem you have ever had-make you forget even your own name.”

Secrets are shared, love grows the more the relationship builds.

”I was finally living and breathing again. This is how it’s supposed to be but didn’t Sir Isaac Newton himself say, ‘What goes up must come down’? Hopefully that was just a reference to gravity and my life in general. “

THOUGHTS

What a wonderfully written debut novel.

Loveable H/h.
Kane is swoonworthy and amazing… Hardcore punk bad boy on the outside, inside a softy with a huge heart.
Kelsey steps out of her shell and becomes a great heroine.

Great secondary characters.
Jessi and Landon bring the laughs.

Great Chemistry between the H/h but also the best friend Jessi and Kelsey.
Enough character depth.

So why not a 5 star rating?

The fucking ending!

I need to state first of all that there is no cliffhanger.
It is a stand alone

But your quietly just reading along enjoying the story then
BAM

the last 10/15% book just take you on a different storyline that leaves you like WTF?!

SOO much is jammed into it, and it all just kinda HAPPENS.. no build up. Just

 photo confused-guy_zps6dbaae02.jpg

And then it’s just over….

As I said.. a bit too WTF for my liking

A few misspelled words as well but all in all an enjoyable read all round.

4.5 STARS!!

I was given an ARC for an honest review so here it goes.

I knew a lot about this story from the author but reading was completely different. Amanda Stone blew me away with her debut novel.

Kelsey thought college would be the great escape. She had it all planned out until she met the guy with the gray eyes. The guy she couldn't get out of her head (and I don't blame her).

While her best friend and roommate, Jessi dove into the college experience, Kelsey decided do indulge in academics, she wasn't planning on anything other than friendships but then again, when do things ever go as planned?

Kane stole my heart from the very beginning and the lip ring--drool.
Kane's past has dubbed him as the campus bad boy. He's worked hard to shake his reputation but it seems to come back and bite him in the ass.

Kelsey and Kane look like polar opposites to an outside person but that couldn't be further from the truth.

I absolutely love Kelsey's story and I'm looking forward to more books from Amanda.

Breathe Into Me will be released on May 2, 2013. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. :)

3 Estrellas!

My honest opinion of this book? I hope you can appreciate it when all is said and done. I liked Kelsey and Kane. I liked that there wasn't a drag out in their relationship and I liked that they told each other their stories so early on. I liked Maw and Paw, and I appreciated Jessi. As far as what I liked about the book, that's where it ends.

Why weren't we ever given the info of how Nate knew about Katie and Kane kissing? What did he plan to say to her? When someone you testify against gets out early, the courts are required to notify you, so that made NO sense that she was so clueless. Clearly though, as a reader there was never a doubt who left the voice mail and flowers. And back to the Katie kiss...I still side 100% with Kelsey. It doesn't matter if he pushed her away "a few seconds after" that isn't okay! A man who loves his girl would push her off IMMEDIATELY!! A few seconds later is a few seconds longer than he should have allowed it. I knew Katie kissed him, that was clear, but he should have pushed her away the second her lips touched his. If I were Kelsey, I would not accept his excuse. It's still not acceptable and he still deserves to be in the dog house by himself.

That's my issue with the story line...now to the actual writing itself. This book was RIDDLED with spelling and grammar errors. I had to read and reread at LEAST two sentences every chapter I felt like because if I read it as it was written it made absolutely no sense. I'm very tempted to reread this and mark every error so that I can send it to the author. She should have spent more time proof reading and editing her story, or she should have chosen people she trusted more to help her do that. And the dialogue was obnoxiously forced. There were very few conversations that felt genuine and real...basically everything out of Kane's mouth made me laugh with how over the top and feminine it was. And I was so tired of hearing Jessi constantly declare that she was there for Kelsey, that she would always be there for Kelsey yada yada yada. We got it! That is something that Kelsey should have gotten already too. It has been 6 years! Jessi and her family moved her in and made her part of the family...why did Jessi need to still constantly tell Kelsey she was there for her. If I were Jessi and had to constantly remind my friend of that I'd give up and say screw it.

I recently read another author getting frustrated with negative reviews but I am working on my first book and all I do is read and reread everything to avoid everything I mentioned here. The story wasn't closed, the characters fell flat or fake, and the readers are left with so many things not wrapped up or explained. I don't think that is good writing and I think that potential readers should know the flaws of the book going in. If everything I mentioned is stuff you can overlook then by all means you should read this book. I however couldn't overlook all of it when it occurred so often in one single book and for that reason I have to give this book a low rating. I am only one person though, and my opinion could greatly vary from yours. I'm just being honest and hoping the author looks at this and keeps the same mistakes from happening in her next book. You can't get better if everyone is always just telling you how great you are. Constructive criticism is required to make you better no matter what it is critiquing you about.

This was an average read, but it could have been way better. I had a problem with most of the characters and their reactions to everything. Jessi and Landon were the only 2 that were borderline "normal".

Kane was amazing (physically speaking, he had tattoo sleeves, and a little more on his chest). Also this quote expresses what I'm feeling as well:

"(...)Kane with his tattoos, piercing, biker boots and- from what I had seen so far- monotone wardrobe(...)"

I had a huge problem with how he would speak sometimes, though. It seemed like he would speak as if he were reading a poem. He would go on and on about how special she is, how he can't live without her and blah blah blah. Well, guess what, men don't speak like that and as much as some would wish it, I don't. It also became annoying how he would let Kelsey step all over him towards the end.

Kelsey started out like a nice character, but ended up an over reacting b*tch. The thing that I found strange was that

That just annoyed me on so many levels. Even after he wanted to explain what happened she wouldn't listen and would cry like a baby. Well if you don't want to listen you deserve your misery.

Jessi & Landon and Maw & Paw were two of the best couples this book has to offer. Both relationships were so cute and sappy and happy (Great, now I'm rhyming. What's next pigs flying?). I just loved them and let's leave it at that. C;

One other HUGE problem I had when reading this novel: the author chose to add action/suspense in the last two chapters. I mean, REALLY? Instead of cramming all the unnecessary action there, why not build it from chapter one and have the book end with a "BOOM!"? The worst part of it all was that, as fast as it began, it ended. I got whiplash in the last few pages. It was like BOOM: Story over.

P.S. Who paid for the girls' tattoos? Or were they free?....My brain hurts.

I liked this book but I didn't love it. It didn't WOW me, something was missing but I don't really know if I can put my finger on it. I liked the premise of the book, like I said something was missing to really having me truly connect with the book and characters fully. I liked the flow of the book, it wasn't to fast or to slow, but then the ending felt rushed for some reason. The author decided to put twists into the story that I liked but I think they could've been built upon. I thought the epilogue was to short, had it been longer I think it would've answered some of the questions I was left with. One being what was with the negativity between Kane and Nate....there was a story there but we never find out what it was.

I liked Kane A lot....but then again who wouldn't like a tattooed, pierced, bad boy....YUM!!!! I felt he was truly genuine with Kelsey and that he was a changed person after everything that happened to him. I loved his relationship with his grandparents, it was truly endearing. Kelsey wasn't a bad Heroine but she did bug me a little. I felt she was a strong person after living through what she did, but it bugged me how she kept saying that she trusted Kane

I have to say the biggest problem I had with this book was nothing with the storyline itself, but with the editing. I am not an editor, but even I can see when things need to be corrected. There were a lot of times when the wrong word was put into a sentence or the word was misspelled. Having to mentally correct a book while I am reading it kind of makes it hard to connect with the book and to truly enjoy it. I was also confused as to the setting of the story...some of the wording the author used made it feel like it took place in the south but then the rest of it led me to believe it was somewhere else. I don't know maybe that is just me...LOL :)

Would I recommend this book? ... YES I would, I am glad I read it and I think many others will probably LOVE it. I would just say go into it knowing there are some grammatical errors.

honestly had no idea what to expect walking into this book. It's hard to get storyline now different from all the rest.. That being said- us girls always like a good love triangle in a book but I loved that the *3rd* was never really ever an option. THis is a great story about true love and love at first sight. Don't believe in those things? - Then you just have never experienced either. I LOVED Kelsey's character (broken, hurt, innocent but at the same time she was independent, strong, and moving one with life) I adored her and her BFF Jessi's banter and true friendship with each other. Almost a sisterhood.

I totally related to Jessi and how she felt for Kelsey and also alot of the comments made by her were flat AWESOME.

Here are a few of my favorite highlights of the book:

"Could you please keep your sandwich orgasms to a minimum? You're giving that able over there a free show."

"How much more stalker could I get " <----- Yep, this was so me

"Mr. Blue Shirt"<---- Again, me I name EVERYTHING - if I don't know your name - no worries -- I will give you one;)

"Come on, Slut Puppy"<----- this is how true friends talk to each other:) hhaahaha

"I'm just saying Kels. These boys want some Kelsey. Bad"

"All right Miss Wants to Point Fingers, you know I have ten I can point right back at you" <---- I WILL use this one day

"coocah" <-----bahahhah!

"I mean Kane's a big guy and all but if he were to ever hurt my girl do not count the fact that I would be allover him like a spider monkey"<-----(Me and Jessi are sisters at heart I SWEAR.. I say that all the time b/c I am only 5'1)

"She may have been the size of a chihuahua but she had the attitude of a Pit bull"

"I could taste his coffee on his tongue. Best way to have morning coffee...EVER" <------Um, yes please

and Lastly-

I <3'd Kane's relationship with his Mah and Pah.<3 So sweet and there is always something about grandparent advice that pulls my heart strings

this was Pah to Kane and Kelsey

"What can I say the ladies love me." He shrugged. "But that little 'ol gal in there cooking away stole my heart when I was about your age, and the little thief never gave it back"<--------This one gives me goosies.

Overall- I LOVED this book. I dove in and didn't want to come back out, which is exactly how a good book should be.

I loved every character (well a couple you love to hate) and thought the 4 main characters could have been my friends or even I could have been one of them. I felt every emotion they felt and that's what makes for a GREAT read.

WELL DONE MISS Amanda:)

Now, give me some more Kelsey and Kane. I was NOT done with them yet;)

I'm not good at writing reviews, so I usually don't. But after reading this story, I really wanted to share some thoughts. *spoiler alert*

I really loved this story, and the characters. However, I felt that it ended too abruptly. The story built up to an amazing climax(no pun intented), but then it was like, "Dinner's ready. Twenty-six chapters is enough, I'm going to stop now". I was left with many unanswered questions:

What was the backstory with Nate and Kane? How did Kane know that Nate would take Kelsey to the abandonded building? I think there could have been more made of Kane after he was wounded, i.e., bring his grandparents into the picture(loved both of those characters), showing their support not only for Kane, but for the anquish that Kelsey was probably feeling.

I read this story pretty much non-stop from beginning to end, and I just felt let down at the ending.

Also, I'm not sure if it is just the conversion to digital format, or if it was originally published this way, but there were a lot of words mis-spelled, and verb tense issues. It's just a pet peeve of mine. I'm not a grammatical/spelling Nazi, but there were some really basic things that I would have thought would have been caught in editing. I wanted to be able to grab my red pen and have a field day. :)

I will say that I was THRILLED that it wasn't yet another 'series' that left me with a cliffhanger that I wasn't expecting with a 6 month to year long wait for the next installment.

Here is my review for "Breathe Into Me": (Coming soon!)

I was excited that this novel was released earlier! So of course I got it from Amazon and read it in one sitting. Overall, I did like it, but it wasn't my all time favorite novel. There were some difficulties. One, the way Kane and Kelsey gave monologue speeches to each other. For some reason, I couldn't get into that. It just seemed too forced and stiff rather than having a conversation.

And second, the ending. I think Stone needed to make it a little longer. There was a point when I thought she was going to leave it a cliffhanger because the main event happened around 90% of my Kindle, so I was getting worked up about that. But no, as far as I know this is a standalone? However, it all happened at once at the end and then, bam, done, finished. Was a little anti-climatic for me.

Even though I had problems with this novel, I still think it was a good book and I do think that other NA lovers will really enjoy this book.

Look out everyone!!! Amanda Stone is an author to take note off. I seriously LOVED this one. It reminded me so much of Wait For You by J.Lynn which is also absolutely adored. This story was so beautiful. All of the characters were absolutely lovable. The storyline was great and so were the characters. It was a fun read, but also quite meaningful. I wish it was longer because I just wanted their relationship to go on forever! It wasn't too short where it left me feeling like their relationship needed to be more developed! I just wanted more. I seriously, seriously recommend reading this ASAP.

OMG! Just let me calm down a bit from that ending. Phew!

This book is good. I was set on 4 stars but I thought after that ending it deserved a bit more.

I have to admit that the book did have factors in it that are similar with other books, but I like the combination of them. There were things I expected but there was this huge twist at the end I did not freaking expect. I was practically having a panic attack when it happened.

If you just love romantic books, with a bit of heat in it and a giant twist that makes your heart race, then this is the book for you.

I normally wouldn't read anything like this because of how young the characters are within the story, but once you get caught up in the book you forget all that, beautiful story line, there were moments of Awwwww and the odd sigh, moments that stuck out as unique..

The only real let down for me is the bad grammar/missed words/or spelling mistakes that really let this down, if those were tweaked this book would be awesome..
