A spiritual sequel to Zombies!: Feast, Eclipse of the Undead is a bleak and devastating view of the start of the end of days. The story, in brief, is of a group of refugees huddled inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum after things start to break down for the military. People are crushed together and many are irrational and violent, angry that the wealthy plus a good deal of children and some women have been evacuated but they are left behind with little food and a constant attack of zombies at the gates. The military finally decides to leave and a small group of various characters does their best to escape both the stadium and the city. The three main characters are a red cross worker named Brad, a Latina barrio girl named Paquita, and Shigeru, a Japanese Martial Arts teacher trapped in L.A. due to the outbreak.

***Parental Warning***: As zombie graphic novels go, this is not one for the kids as full nudity, scenes of rape, and hardcore gore are on full display, so let the buyer beware.

If you took some young, talented artists from the barrio in LA and combined them with creative kids from Staten Island who live and bleed Wu-Tang and then asked them to write a zombie story that simultaneously depicts human nature as they have experienced it with metaphorical and actual reference to gang life, life life, and struggle, you would probably end up with something like this. Not for everyone, but, if you think it sounds awesome, you would be right.
