When a blind woman is found murdered in her home, Detective Inspector Briscombe is called in to investigate. He soon discovers that, beneath the facade of a close-knit family and friendship group, all is not as it appears. When it seems that everyone had a motive for Harriet Harding’s murder, can he unravel the threads to track down her killer? He thinks he’s on the right track until a second murder derails the investigation. Now it’s a race against time to unravel the secrets before the killer strikes again. Finn Abara has just been released from prison after serving his sentence for causing the accident that blinded Harriet and killed her husband. He knows he’s the police’s number one suspect and unless he can prove his innocence, he’ll be back in prison and this time they’ll throw away the key. He determines to stay out of trouble but his old associates have different ideas, and when they threaten to harm his young sister, he’s forced into making some tough choices. Meanwhile, DI Harry Briscombe’s private life explodes, when the secret behind an anonymous funeral notification is revealed.
I've written as a hobby for almost as long as I can remember and now that I have books published, I'm living the dream! If you'd like an introduction to my writing, do visit my website at www.carolynmahony.com where you can download a FREE copy of my Prequel Novella, Behind Closed doors, introducing my Detective in the series, Harry Briscombe. The first full length novel, Cry From The Grave, is a story that was bubbling away inside of me forever, and follows the story of Hannah, who's baby went missing six years previously. When I'm not writing, marketing or researching, I'm catching up on my sleep but even my dreams are infiltrated by (sometimes totally nonsensical) plots and scenes. The second full length novel in the series is called The Jagged Line and the third one about to be published any day now, is called No Escape. Each book follows the same detective but is a standalone story in its own right and can therefore be read out of sequence. Shadow Watcher is a slight drift away from the psychological crime thriller and is a standalone romantic suspense novel. I tried to bring it back into line with the others but it just wasn't co-operating, and in the end I decided to go along for the ride and enjoy it. I hope you do too! Who says crime and romance don't mix?

A tough case for Harry & his team - touching story. Highly Recommended
Harry is back! This time he is investigating the murder of a wealthy, blind lady, killed in her own home, but by whom? And why? Nothing is as it appears at first and as the story progresses the plot thickens.
Well there are plenty of suspects, each pointing the finger at the other, and all seemingly having a motive.
A complex case and a humdinger of a story woven with intrigue and twists along the way, in Carolyn Mahony’s inimitably style.
Just goes to show, you can’t judge a book by it’s cover - as the saying goes.
Five years ago in a traffic accident, her husband was killed and she, wealthy Barbara Harding was left blind. Now she has been killed, but by whom and why. DI Harry Brimscombe and his team investigate. Too much about certain characters and drugs and other activities, not enough about the murders. Overall, enjoyable enough modern mystery
