Bart Simpson, the bad boy of Springfield, is back in Bart Big Shot , a bold series of comic misadventures. All of your favorite characters here, including Maggie and Lisa Simpson, Milhouse, and neighborhood bully Nelson Muntz. With full-color illustrations throughout, this monumental collection of big-headed and big-hearted tales from Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons , may be the biggest Bart Simpson book yet! And that’s a big deal!
Matthew Abram Groening is an American cartoonist, television producer and writer from Portland, Oregon.
Groening is best known as the creator of The Simpsons. He is also the creator of Futurama and the author of the weekly comic strip Life in Hell. Groening distributed Life in Hell in the book corner of Licorice Pizza, a record store in which he worked.
He made his first professional cartoon sale to the avant-garde Wet magazine in 1978. The cartoon is still carried in 250 weekly newspapers.
This was an unusual volume. For one thing, it featured some of the biggest names to work on a regular Simpsons comic in Sergio Aragones and Gilbert Hernandez. But really, the volume overall was weaker than most Simpsons graphic novels. I think I have gotten used to the comic just trying to be as close to the TV series as possible (the art looks just like the show, the storylines are similar, etc.) so when creators take things in a slightly different way it throws things off. The Hernandez story really confused me, which is something that I don't think ever happened in a Simpsons comic. Aragones is probably my all time favorite humor comic guy (Mad Magazine!) and his work here is good, but for some reason the overall volume didn't grab me. Still, I would give four stars and if you're a fan of the Simpsons comic line you should still enjoy it, but it just wasn't quite as good as usual.
I read the book Bart Simpson BIG SHOT! This is a good book because it has some good action parts, scary parts and, and a lot of funny parts. The best part I liked in Bart Simpson BIG SHOT! book was when Bart Simpson and his friend were picking up parts to make a rocket for the moon. They were building it with parts that they got from the garbage place and they got the motor from Bart's dad's car. Then they didn't know how to get all the parts together to build a rocket so they called a builder rocket person he helped them build it for them the next day they we're finish and it had a logo that said "TO THE MOON". The military found out and he brought all the army to his house. And they stopped them from turning on the rocket because it was going to explode. And they saved the day.
This is the least funny collection of Simpsons comics I have ever read. There's a lot of Sergio Aragones work, which I normally adore, but it just wasn't funny. You should especially watch out for the "Lil' Krusty" sections, which are especially bad. I gave this three stars cause I can't resist reading about the adventures of the Simpsons, even if it lacked humor.
Another decent collection of Simpsons comics. Standouts include some seriously meta-fictive work by Sergio Aragones, and the series of Li'l Krusty one page gag strips. Clever stuff, worth reading, but nothing to guffaw over.
In this series, there are a few that are both funny and thought-provoking: The Simpson Project - Mars going rocket being a hoax; Children off the Cob - The danger of over-believing; The last day of summer vacation - the (un)beauty of trial; Bart's Invisible! - A series of coincidences may make one feel invisible and do something wrong; Big Top Flop - Sometimes just follow would be fine :D
Another comics entry that had a mix of some really good ones (Bart making the comic book sound glossary) and then others that fell flat in story or art, or sometimes both.
The one with Homer carrying around the comic book was especially awful - seemed like an inside joke that I just didn’t get and an art style that was so unlike The Simpsons so none of it worked.
Have you ever watched The Simpsons? This book is about Bart Simpson,is the baddest boy of springfield. If you are looking for a book that has a lot of drama and many problems, this could be the one. Your favorite characters or as others say main characters are here, including Maggie, Lisa Simpson, Milhouse, and neighborhood bully Nelson Muntz. Bart gets into a lot of trouble, which is the main point of the book. i really enjoyed this book and recommend it to all of those who want to be entertained. it has many coors and pictures. Some people might say i shouldn't be reading this book since i'm in the 9th grade but i can't resist on how good this book is. i can be a adult and still read this book, cause i could never get tired of it.
Read this is two sittings...It's not a hard read by any means and that is sometimes what I need :p
It's a collection of Bart Simpson comics compiled into a graphic novel. Within it you'll find pretty short comics and the One Offs (one page comic).
The artwork will always differ between story to story..Some people can draw better than others...I'm thinking they're now including stories from other countries and not just from the US.
This book the Bart Simpson by Matt greening speaks about one family who lives in Springfield and this book has a lot of contents like "12 angry kids or bart vs. Bart". This is a good book that all the people can read it whit different's tittles . The book that Matt greening do, is for all the kids or families because this book doesn't has bad words o something that can effect to the people.
I loved this book. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys watching the Simpsons. It was very entertaining and I loved reading every second of it.
