Read this for a class; appreciated the range of chapter topics, and the conciseness of each (compared to other, often dense & repetitive, readings on ed leadership).
Really great anthology of the best writers in ed leadership today. Excerpts from Senge, Fullan, Kouzes & Pozner, etc. that gives you just enough to know if you'd like to read more of them. Great foundational book for starting to learn about ed leadership.
A little out of date, being published in 2000; however this primer does provide a good foundation for education leadership at a post-secondary institution. Particular chapters that stood out to me were written Sergiovanni, Wheatly, and Deal.
As far as text books for graduate class have gone, this has been by far the most interesting. It's a collection of shorter pieces from educational philosophers, so it's really not that bad.
