Angelique and Louis are soul mates but they can’t be together for reasons beyond their control; one of them is on the earth plane and one is in the realm of the angels. Their bond is not a physical one but one of senses; each feels the others presence.
They come from very different families: Angelique’s parents are comfortably off but their longed for family is elusive, Louis’ mother is a homeless drug addict.
The angel watches over the human and both of their families, guiding and protecting, and tells their story with an ethereal voice.
website www.sherrielowe.co.uk I am a divorced mother of two adult sons and I have five lovely grandchildren. I was working as a learning support assistant in a mainstream high school when I became ill with ME (also called chronic fatigue syndrome) in 1995. I have since written eleven novels and two memoirs and Song of the Phoenix although the fourth to be written is the first to be published, mainly because the first three are more or less a trilogy. As of June 2012 - all novels and the memoirs are now published and available in paperback from http://www.feedaread.com/ and Kindle editions from http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_n... Writing has kept me sane through what is an extremely debilitating and isolating illness and my aim is to earn my living from it.
"... we exist as you might on your earth plane but in a more diaphanous form. We don't walk we drift..." Two soul mates of earthly and celestial spirits merge on two different planes in this intriguing storyline that draws the reader in to this unusual and unexpected tale. The author does a fine job of merging two different storylines: one involving Louis, who is of the earthly plane and Angelique, who is in the realm of the angels. I found it an enjoyable read with a unique storyline: a simple, but well-told and well-written romance tale.
This week I finished a delightful book called ‘Angel Breaths’ by Sherrie Lowe. Honestly, I found this book under the theme pregnancy loss and miscarriage, but it far more fantastical than a reality story. Sherrie Lowe eloquently tells the story through the eyes of a ‘lost angel’, a child never born. It certainly touches on loss, but the essence of the book links themes of humanity, family, friendship, loss, hardship and most of all love. The concept that our ‘lost angels’ remain watching over us, connected as spirits to our world, may resonate with women like me who have experienced miscarriage. Whilst it carries a theme of why these spiritual angels came to existence, and the remorse them leaving this world so prematurely; the story beautifully holds their essence throughout, allowing the reader to believe that there is a purpose. Nonetheless, this story takes us from the spiritual realm, into the lives of two women and their families on two very different paths of life, and effortlessly interweaving their journeys together. The book brings in themes of humanity, friendship, loss, hardship and most of all love. Angelique (the ‘lost angel’) watches over her own family through their struggles to conceive, and the conception of her soul mate, born to a drug-addicted teenage mother. This was certainly a very different story telling, and it reminded me in parts of another book I enjoyed reading called ‘The Lovely Bones’. Angelique is ever present throughout the book, but it is her story of two expectant mothers, that draw you deeply in, keeping you turning each page until the very end. I am not sure how much of this book will support a woman or family dealing with infertility or pregnancy loss directly, but in saying that, the underlying story of hope and forgiveness that is healing and valuable. Apart from everything it is a wonderful read and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wondrous story with a different angle.
Having already read Ms Lowe's The Author,The Gardener and The Woman What Does, I expected something similar in style. What a surprise? This novel was much grittier tackling homelessness and drug abuse. Clearly the author has researched her topic well. The main characters are a teenage headstrong girl and a childless couple. Drawing in other characters, Ms Lowe interweaves the story of the girl who runs away from home with the couple as they befriend one another. She portrays life on the streets as the girl slips into a life of drug abuse and sleeping rough, and finally falling pregnant by someone she doesn't even like. She has now reached the lowest point in her life. I am impressed how the reader is drawn into this tragic decline...Ms Lowe has may strings to her bow. I won't reveal how it all ends, suffice to say that it's not all gloom and doom. I recommend this well written book and look forward to reading more from this author. Well done!
In this story, the soul of Angelique, a baby who miscarried, follows the life of her mother (Michelle) and also the life of the woman who will give birth to Angelique's soul mate (Leah). Both women come from different backgrounds and different desires to have a child--Michelle trying desperately to have a viable conception, and Leah's conception coming as a result of a "one off" while she was high on drugs. The story talks about both women's experiences during pregnancy and bringing up their child.
It's a book of emotions, not of action, although the story does pickup a little more towards the end. It's a touching story of the unfolding of lives--people's fears, regrets, anger, jealousy, love--and finally coming to terms with the demons in their lives. A story about life and soul mates, some who meet in this life, and others who meet only in heaven. The telling from the point of view of Angelique adds a insightful look into all those involved in the story.
I really enjoyed this book, having lost two angels myself, reading from the perspective of a ghost baby in the realms brought peace, having a 6th sense myself I do believe our angels are watching us. I loved how everybody got to meet and be friends, or should i say they are friends yet it went back to the start and how they all came together in the first place, how life brings people together whether in good or bad circumstances.
Having this based in Staffordshire was another plus, as we also live in Staffordshire, so other than possible name changes? of the characters within the books I would expect that the hospital the mums gave birth to their lovely children, was the one in the same where I had my angels and my daughter also.
Beautiful story, and if there is more to be written or extended on other than what was in the epilogue it would be nice to read more in this genre.
Angel breaths is the beautiful story that follows the soul of an unborn child. Angelique watches over her family as they go through the sadness and heartache of trying to conceive another baby. Mean whilst Angelique is also watching over her 'soul mate' someone that is due to be born to a young girl in an unfortunate situation.
The story alone was a wonderful one, with or without it's telling point, though it added to the feeling of it. The author has a brilliant way with words and helps paint a wonderful picture to the lives of the people we follow. Angel Breaths has its sad points but as the characters grow you get that 'feel good' factor and a warm glow. Great story - brilliantly written!
Enjoyed this story very much. On the lines of The lovely Bones, but more poignant. I liked the way the stories of the two families ran side by side until they met in the middle.
didn't think i would be able to read this for personal reasons but i got sucked in and couldn't put it down i really enjoyed it and would recommend others to read
