John Kinsella is the author of more than twenty collections of poetry. The recipient of the Christopher Brennan Award, he has taught at Cambridge University and Kenyon College. He lives in Western Australia.

This is a fantastic book if you are wanting to know some history of Ireland and those of Kinsella clan to know their roots, the reason for the family tree going back to the bible . That isn't what the family wrote down. That was monks that write that down , just to clarify. The reason for this was to show the people they ruled they were ordained by God to rule and there for you are not to disobey a godly person so to speak

Heavy going, repetitive at times and grandiose. A history of Ireland from my families perspective. It could have done with some heavy handed editing but I guess when you are writing the entire history of a nation from your clans eyes verbosity, poetic license and embellishment is to be expected....including starting the family tree from the Bible...

My maternal grandmother Alicia was a Kinsela [variant spelling:]. An ancient Irish clan.
