This actually should have been a five star rating because it was phenomenal. However, due to the spelling, editing, factual and grammatical errors, which seem to be the Hallmark of this Series, I had to lower my rating. It's a shame because the topics are spectacular topics to write about. Mark Black, don't quit your day job. Leave the writing to the professionals. Ever and always interesting to read books about the Titanic. A few nuggets of info and insight here not found in some other books. e.g., The still night waters of the Atlantic kept the lookouts from seeing splashing waves over the iceberg, which could have given them advance warning that an iceberg was ahead.

A Brief History of Titanic

It´s a concise and very well written history of the Titanic. Hundred years since the tragedy there is a lot of facts to know about it and the author managed not only to draw out the most important ones, but also to depict a wider picture. Author describes technical details about the construction of the Titanic, as well as the circumstances in society and the reception of tragedy in the popular culture- it´s all in one place.

I´ve found some new information which caught my attention, such as demographic facts and the social context which I find especially interesting. I´m pleasantly surprised with readability of the book; it definitely won´t be the last I´ve read from this author.

Titanic is, quite possibly, the most famous ship in the world. At the time of her construction, she was the largest and most luxurious ship ever built. On her maiden voyage, she carried some very important and wealthy passengers, including millionaire John Jacob Astor, industrialist Benjamin Guggenheim, millionairess Molly Brown and the Countess of Rothes, and her sinking in the Atlantic was one of the biggest tragedies at sea.

Titanic: A Very Brief Story is a concise and short book about the “unsinkable” ship including all the important information and details to give the reader a wide and useful knowledge of Titanic, from her construction to the moment of the sinking.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn about the Titanic fast.

I love these guys, in just one sitting I can bring myself up to speed on historical happenings or people in History. This is so great because people nowadays don't give time to sit down to a book of a hour or more on these issues. I think we all need to remind ourselves of our past and this is a quick way to do it. Highly recommended.

The usual poor edit work, but the story itself was very informative.

A nice book, but as in the others ".. a very brief history", has a lack of references.
