The wolves of Europe have chosen sides. Those who still believe in the old ways have assembled at the call of the Old Council in Geneva. Those who imagine a new order for their kind have united themselves with Nick and the rest of the New Council in Spain. The hunt is on to rescue Orlando, their Shadowborn ally, from the Old Council, but it's been half a year since he's been seen alive. At the head of the search is Candra, Orlando's Lightborn lover, with new and unlikely friends and a need to find her other half that rivals every other desire.
The only problem is, does Orlando really want to be rescued?
As the deciding conflict approaches, the wolves of the New Council must all make sacrifices that will change the world they thought they knew. The war will uncover secrets, test loyalties, and force Orlando and Candra to discover the unknown limits of their godlike abilities. When the smoke clears, the wolves of Europe will have new masters, for better or for worse.
I can't really review this book very accurately, because I helped write it. I'm pretty fond of it, though, so I do recommend at least checking it out. I promise this is not your teenage daughter's werewolf book. It is our take on the nature of werewolves not just as tortured men and women living under some kind of curse once a month, but as thinking and feeling individuals in a society as fully complex as our own. We hope you enjoy it, as well as its prequels, The Ironborn Claim and The Heartborn Mate.
