This is a serial killer and an honest cop story. The killer is famous as Gentleman Killer because he looks decent. But there is nothing decent about him and he kills without guilt. Inspector Vikaram singh is determined to catch him again as he escapes from prison.

It is a good chase story though a bit idealistic.

I am highly disappointed in this novel. It is called SMP's best creation. But it does not stand up to the hype. It's a straight forward story. Not much twists involved; come to think of it, not at all. And I did not like the end, although in retrospective, there was not better way to end the story. Although I would have liked two Inspector Vikramsinghs at the end. Anyways!

But the biggest letdown is the narration. Trilok narrates the story in dry, monotonous voice. He tries to change voice sometime and sometime try modulation, but doesn't succeed. There's no sound designer involved, only recordist and maybe editor.

Storytel hires voice artists who has deep and clear voice, and does not care about voice acting. And that's where it fails to Audible, even though they are a bit cheaper. I'm not sure whether I'll renew my subscription.

I'm highly disappointed in the book for story as well as narration.

हिंदी मसाला फिल्मों की तरह ही इस उपन्यास को दिमाग बिना लगाए पढ़ना होगा। कहानी है इंस्पेक्टर विक्रमसिंह की और खलनायक है कुलभूषण। किरदारों के चरित्र फ़िल्मी हैं। थोड़ा जोकर वर्सेज बैटमैन वाली फीलिंग आती है।

The story is just a case of cat and mouse chase. Not the best work of the author. But people who love reading such chase stories where a killer is on the lose murdering people left, right and center with a duty bound incorrupt cop on his heel, may find it interesting.
The plot is good but the writer loses on the thrill and suspense built up. Maybe he was trying to experiment with this style of writing.
