Stephanie Bond

USA TODAY bestselling author Stephanie Bond was seven years deep into a systems engineering career and pursuing an MBA at night when an instructor remarked that she had a flair for writing and suggested that she submit to academic journals. But Stephanie, a voracious reader, was only interested in writing fiction–more specifically, romantic fiction.

Upon completing her master’s degree and with no formal training in writing (her undergraduate degree is in computer programming), she started writing a romance novel in her spare time. Two years later in 1995 she sold her first manuscript, a romantic comedy, to Harlequin Books.

In 1997, with ten sales under her belt to two publishers, Stephanie left her corporate job to write women’s romantic fiction full-time. In 2011,

Stephanie launched a self-publishing business. Since that time, she has sold more than 1 million copies of her own books. To-date, Stephanie has published over 70 novels and has over 6 million copies of her work in worldwide distribution in numerous languages and formats.

I picked this box set up in the kindle store for a very good price. There are three full length novels and one novella.
First up is Party Crashers: Jolie's boyfriend goes missing, she quits her job due to dishonest practices and has to take a job in the shoe department at Neiman Marcus. Detectives want to question Jolie about Gary's disappearance especially since he stole her car and his car was pulled out the water with a dead female body in it.
Then Jolie meets Beck Underwood, a wealthy business man that is going out of his way to help Jolie with her problems. Her new friend Carlotta takes Jolie under her wing and Jolie finds herself rubbing elbows with the wealthy patrons at certain events she didn't really have an invitation to.
Next up was Deep Voodoo: Penny's ex- husband left her for a younger woman and their divorce is now final. So, Penny's friends throw her a happy divorce party. A few drinks too many cause Penny's tongue to loosen up a bit and when her ex is found murdered, Penny is the only suspect the police are interested in.
The third book is :Got Your number- Roxann works with a domestic violence organization that helps women that have run out of all other options. Now, an angry husband is after Roxann because his wife has left with their children, which violates his parental rights. So, Roxann is also being hounded by a detective. When Roxann attends her cousin's wedding and the poor girl is jilted at the alter the two go on a road trip. Along the way they encounter old friends, make new ones and solve a couple of murders.
The last book is a novella- Bump in the night- Renni's ex- boyfriend shows up drunk at her apartment in the middle of the night. In order to keep the neighbors happy she lets Daniel in. The two hook up but when Renni wakes up the next morning- Daniel is dead. It seems he was stabbed to death. Renni is the obvious suspect. It's a good thing her ex-husband is a lawyer and comes to her rescue.
If you are looking for a some great beach reads or light romantic mysteries, load your e-reader up with this box set. I really enjoyed these stories. Stephanie Bond will be a go to author from now on. Overall an A.

These are mis-labeled as "humorous" mysteries. They are anything BUT humorous.

I don't know if they wanted to expand the genre listings these books would appear in or what, but these are NOT humorous. They ARE murder mysteries, yes. Humorous, no. Sorry.

2.5 stars. So-so contemporaries. The constant use of 'doolie' for 'duallie' (dual-wheeled pick-up truck) was irritating.

Jolie is trying to find out what happened to her boyfriend Gary when she meets Beck in the shoe department. Yeah, Jolie and Beck are attracted to each other have sex and fall madly in love. But, not before the dead bodies start piling up. Jolie's life is in danger from two different people. And, nothing seems to be going right. The story does make you laugh as Jolie uncovers the truth of Gary's disappearance and who is trying to kill her. Its a quick read and Charlotta does make you laugh out loud with her antics.

Each one of these books is a great read! The first three are stand alone novels and the fourth is a stand alone short story. Each story had wonderful characters and a storyline that kept me guessing who really did it until the end, which was a great surprise because I am one of those people who usually guesses who did it before the book is half read! They all have some funny scenes that had me laughing out loud, lots of sexual tension and some steamy love scenes! A Book Junky's Obsession - http://myopenlife2001.wordpress.com/2...

Book one: Party Crashers-four stars. It's a fun read. It is also the prequel to the Body Movers series. Carlotta Wren will be the main character in this series. I plan to read the series, sounds fun.

Book two: In Deep Voodoo-four stars. Another fun read. This book is a start of a series but it stands alone just fine.

Book three: Got Your Number-four stars. This is a stand alone novel. A fun read.

Book four: Bump in the Night (short story)-four stars. This was a fun short story. Had more to it than I expected. Most short stories seem to not have enough substance for me.

I've always enjoyed books written by Stephanie Bond and these are no exception. She develops her characters in a way that you feel like they could be someone you know. Her mysteries can have twists and turns and danger but she pulls them all together for a very satisfying conclusion.

I enjoy Ms. Bonds books. They have good characters and a good plot. This book was very good. It was a toss up on which person was really the murderer. Good ending.

This has 4 mini books in one book. The first one was pretty good. Maybe I'll try later to read the other 3, but for now, I have no desire to read a book by her.

These are three great books and a great short story as a bonus.

Life as a single gal can be murder.... in each story there is a strong, wronged female and the bodies are piling up.
