Fondling children find each other as adults when their powers come on line. After enduring rotten childhood's they become protectors of mankind. Fun, intriguing and hard to put down, read.
I read the first book and didn't realize it was part of this box set. There is something g about the writing that creeps me out instead of finding it romantic.
I bought this because it was cheap and I was on a Christmas reading binge. The first book was intriguing as it opened the door on this interesting little world & community, but the second and third books were disappointing because the world didn't develop beyond there - no light was shed, no characters grew. Also, everything fit together too well without actually fitting at all. It's that whole 'everything is weird and evil but it's ok because you've found 'the one' and have therefore become all powerful and wise having shacked up with this weird bloke you just met' premise that makes people run off with losers in real life.
This series had good potential, and within each book of the three, begining and middle was fairly well written and interesting with good character development. However the author seemed to be in a rush to finish and the end galloped along in a lack lustre mannor and was mostly unbelievable. Bearing in mind disbelief had already been suspended to allow for the supernatural "Protectors."
Anyway, it was ok. Nothing special and it really left me wishing the concept had been fleshed out a bit more.
I really enjoy Dorothy's world building... in this alternate universe there are people who are capable of protecting the human race from evil... the fact that they don't look like little green men helps... I realised that I had read book 2 before but it felt brand new sandwiched between other stories. ☺ loved the cafe that only appears when you need it!! I also realized that I have a lot of Christmas stories.... love this season.... lots to smile about!!
I loved this series. All the couples were unique in their own right. Hadrian and Holly introduced us to the power of love. Brendan and Dallas the truth about our souls and Horace and Faith, the true meaning of a soul mate. I can't wait to read more of this series.
Three stories. Three romances. When you don't fit in anywhere, how do you find what is missing? The Protectors are foundlings that have never had a family and suffered horrible childhoods, but this Christmas they will find the love that will complete them.
These are not Christmas stories. The first is a fairly chaste romance; the second is straight up erotica and the final is somewhere in between. It's an interesting world, but not enough to compel me to read more.
