Hollyleaf's story:
★ star
A story that wasn't needed as it offers nada. A filler of a story.

Mistystar's story:
★★ stars
Mistystar discovers that Mothwing doesn't believe in Star Clan so she alone decides she can be a Medicine Cat and decides to ban her from her duties.
From my POW she acts like and arrogant cat and doesn't have into account all the previous work of Mothwing or the pleas of the other medicine cats.

Cloudstar's story:
2'5★ stars
For me it was the best story of the bunch, because it actually has a beginning, middle and end, much like Mystystar's, but it also has an interesting plot: this one covers the moment in which the other four clans don't help SkyClan in their moment of need.

Being honest, this kind of books are more like collectors things (you want to have them in your collection) than reading material, as much of the time the plots they cover is either explained at some point on the books or not needed at all....

This book was amazing because of the gaps it filled for me. The events in this book were previously covered briefly or vaguely in the other Warriors books. This book provided the details to explain these events.

I wanted to like this book, I really did- especially because I liked the other novellas so far but this one … was just meh - the only one I've liked was Cloudstar's journey - and the journey isn't even there.

HOLLYLEAF'S STORY
I don't like Hollyleaf, I don't care about Hollyleaf- I wish that this book was about Fallen Leaves instead - he was such an interesting character that's mainly there in the background - though I did like the mini story about a fox- Hollyleaf saving a fox cub and said fox cub attacking her later because it forgot how she smelled and that she saved his life. It also gets slightly repetitive because it's mainly happening in one place- the tunnels - and there is a lot of just patrolling the tunnels and hunting - but since Hollyleaf was so unlikeable to me it ruined the story for me.

MISYSTAR'S OMEN
Man... I wish that anyone but Mistystar became a leader- the beginning was sombre and sad- Leopardstar dies, apologizes to Mistystar for killing her brother and saying that she wishes she was Mistystar's mom because she loved her like her own kit and is instantly forgiven even though she did some horrible things but okay- then we get to the story - Mistystar gets her nine lives, Mistystar sees that Mothwing is not in Star clan with her - Mistystar decides that since Mothwing is an atheist she shouldn't be a medicine cat because she needs to believe in Star clan to be a good healer…. despite being a competent medicine cat that has been healing her clanmates for moons at this point - but yes, the entire novella felt boring and dragging, Mistystar is unlikable, it takes her brother and an omen and her son to almost die before she finally gets to her senses and starts trusting her old friend again - and yes, she mentions over and over that Mothwing is her old friend since she was her mentor before she became a medicine cat- but she doesn't show that at all, I guess that the moral of the story is that just because someone close to you doesn't believe in same things you do you shouldn't question your faith but the main character is unlikable, the story gets repetitive and drags on when it's not needed and it was just … so boring and I wanted to scream at Mistystar for making so many dumb decisions in a row.

CLOUDSTAR'S JOURNEY
This one was the only one I liked out of the three. It's about Cloudstar and his clan, the leader of Sky clan when they were banished from the forest. We meet him and his clanmates living peacefully in the forest when the monsters and humans come and humans start destroying the forest in order to build houses- Sky clan is ran out of their territory when they ask for help at the gathering and everyone gets mad because they can't possibly spare the territory, a few medicine cats mildly protest but are ignored, then one mentions that there are four trees which must mean that there should only be four clans in the forest and besides, if Star clan wanted all five clans to live in the forest together they'd cover the moon with clouds, since they didn't do that they should totally banish Sky clan for reasons (I have no idea why Star clan didn't intervene there or why they allowed that to happen). There was also a part where Cloudstar has a dream where he meets previous leaders in Sky clan and they tell him that Sky clan is strong and they shall stay in the forest forever - and that only serves one purpose- to make Cloudstar more stubborn and try staying in his territory for longer than he should have. He had to leave his mate and small kits behind and he doesn't see them again until Sky clan is rebuilt many, many, many moons - years later when Firestar rebuilds it in Firestar's quest and he meets them in Star clan - I wish that his mate or at least kits followed him and met him at the gorge where they lived- that would've felt so much more satisfying- and the journey in the title isn't even there because the novella ends before they even start. Overall, best out of three but not the best out of all the novellas I've read so far.

#1. Hollyleaf's story: 4/5
I never liked Hollyleaf, but it was a nice change to finally see her face the repercussions of her actions. I was used to her doing all kinds of terrible things and being saved by her beloved family, so it was refreshing to explore how spoiled and selfish she can be and let her deal with her own mistakes for once in her life. I really hope this is the last we see of her!

#2. Mistystar's omen: 2/5
Mistyfoot was one of my favorite characters, but now I can't stand her anymore. She betrayed her best friend simply because they held different beliefs, risking her own son's life in the process. She refused to let Mothwing do her job, even though it was necessary for the good of the Clan. I couldn't help but wonder what happened to their once-strong friendship and the trust they had in each other. Mistystar's actions showed that she is not fit to be a leader.

#3. Cloudstar's journey: 4/5
This story was so heartbreaking and unfair that I couldn't help but cry. The contrast between the peaceful past and the horrible future that was coming was absolutely cruel. I loved Cloudstar's determination and how hard he fought back when everything was crumbling. He has definitely won a special spot in my heart, and I hope to read more about their journey someday!

Hollyleaf's story - 4 Stars
Reading the series by itself did give you a little bit of what happened to this warrior after she initially fled, but this filled in every remaining gap. She was such a broken soul when we first lost sight of her. By the time she came back, much of her character changed, and I wasn't sure how the cat who went into the tunnels became the one who came out. This story chronicles her changes: her life in the dark, befriending another cat (whom she never figures out is a ghost), looking at life a different way, trying to frickin' save a fox (her nutty moment, but telling), and her eventual decision that she couldn't stay away from Clan life. The inner struggles we finally get to see help shape who she is by the end of Omen of the Stars. Awesome.

Mistystar's Omen - 4 Stars
I really do enjoy stories from different Clan perspectives. We get to see it only a tiny bit throughout the regular series, since it's primarily through ThunderClan. Mistystar was a strong character without getting into her mind. Now that we get a chance... yay! She was just as powerful as I imagined, and her issue was something I'm sure every reader questioned during the regular-run of the story. Mothwing. I loved this little story. I thought it was quite emotional for its short length, and we can better understand the mind behind RiverClan during the dark rebellion of Omen of the Stars. Again, awesome.

CloudStar - honestly, didn't read it. Never felt that connected to SkyClan, but that may change once I get around to its own Super Edition. I'll get back to this one.

Hollyleaf’s Story
Seeing what life was like for Hollyleaf when she went missing — presumed dead — added more to her side. I enjoyed it and I liked how it ended with when she came out hiding and helping Dovewing and Ivypool.

Mistystar’s Omen
Review: I enjoyed this story immensely. Usually, we follow cats from ThunderClan. This time, it is RiverClan—Mistystar of RiverClan. And I have been fascinated by her character since she is Bluestar’s daughter. It is great to see her following in her mother's paw steps and becoming a leader. It seems so daunting, but from what I've seen, Mistystar was born to be a leader.

Cloudstar’s Journey
It looks like I have to read more about SkyClan. I am intrigued by them. This particular story shows their struggles as twolegs “steal” their territory. I feel like the title is misleading: it doesn't really show any journeys. But it was still enjoyable.

A great big yellow sticker takes up most of the front of this book, proclaiming it to cost just $5. It was one of the books I brought back from the Blue Mountains last time I had holidays. I really felt like a Warriors book today, and have been slowly working through the novellas and stand alone stories. As per usual, this book has made my appetite stronger for them rather than weaker! I always love these books.

There are three novellas here, two dealing with characters I know and the final one about Skyclan. I haven't read Firestar's Quest, but I really should soon. I feel like I'm missing a major part of my Warriors education. The others were good, but Mistyfoot's story was my favorite. I definitely will pick up another Warriors book next, as I move through my final fifty books for my challenge this year. Five stars.

The last story was sad to read, nearly unenjoyable. My favorite story to read was the first one. The whole book is well writen as a Warriors book usually is. I believe that anyone that considers themselves a Warriors fan should read this book.

That was a really good book if they hadn't included "Cloudstars journey" or at least made it better I would've done five stars but Cloudstars journey was only four star worthy.

Hollyleaf's Story: 3 stars
Mistystar's Omen: 3 stars
Cloudstar's Journey: 2 stars

I really liked coming back to some of the more "og" cats of the warriors series- Hollyleaf and Mistystar. However I could have cared less about the Cloudstar novella, I was bored and it didn't provide any new insight besides what I already knew.

In this book there is three stories of three warriors. They are told in different points of the main story and it can help you understand the story a little better.
In the first story it tells the story of Hollyleaf and how she survived while she was a loner. The story can get boring and it lacks action. If this story was its own book, I would give it a 2 out 5. However it gives you an idea on hw the story works.
The second story, Mistystar's omen, it still lacks excitement, but I feel like it's better than the first story. It's about Mistystar's struggles as a leader and her dealing with the fact that Mothwing doesn't believe in starclan.
The last story is a really interesting story and it tells you how come Skyclan had to leave the forest. This is the best story out of the three and the plot is definitely better. Also it is filled with action which is one of the reasons I like it.
Overall I think this book is good, but not as amazing like the main series, Warriors.

I really enjoyed this book because the first 2 stories were really interesting and I obviously did not even think about either of those events. The first story (Hollyleaf's story) especially carried a lot of suspense when (kinda spoiler) she couldn't be discovered. The 2nd story (Nonbelief in Starclan) answered an important unspoken question. (What would happen if a medicine cat didn't believe in Starclan; Starclan is usually vital for medicine cats. I still wonder what would happen for a normal cat to not believe, though.) The last story about Skyclan; it actually answered a question that I had had for a long time (by the way I love how the English language lets me say usually confusing things and its ok).

The Untold Stories was a great a spin off to a very popular series. It was extremely interesting realizing how Hollyleaf survived, and Mothwings deadly secret. I felt like Cloudstar's struggles were unnecessary though, and that story kind of bored me. Overall though, the interesting stories make this a great and heartfelt story, and I recommend it to any warrior's fans.

Wonderful! However do these Erin Hunter writers continually produce books of this standard? Hollyleaf's Story was as you might expect however beautifully written. Miststar's Omen was lovely and Cloudstar's Journey was in my opinion the very best of all. I will definitely add to my already comprehensive collection with the latest Vision of Shadows when it becomes available in a boxed version.

So far my experience with novellas is that this is content that you can skip entirely and I'm hoping to be proven somewhat wrong in the future. As for the case of this book, all of these are stories you could skip out on. I'm very disappointed with Cloudstar's Journey in particular.

Hollyleaf's Story Review - 5 stars
Hollyleaf has always been one of my favorite characters, so it was really fun reading the Forgotten Warrior from her point of view. At first it was sad because it turns out she really was injured by the tunnels, but then she ends up meeting Fallen Leaves in the tunnels. He ends up rescuing her and they very quickly build a friendship together. Along the way, Hollyleaf saves a baby fox, but later the fox doesn't remember her and tries to attack her. Hollyleaf lives and then that's when her point of view from the Forgotten Warrior begins. She watches over her clan mates to make sure that they're safe and it's just overall a really cute story. It shows she never really forgot her clan and was still thinking about them even moons later.
I don't think Hollyleaf ever figures out that Fallen Leaves is a ghost and honestly it's really sad that Fallen Leaves is back to being alone in the tunnels forever. It kinda makes me wish that the ghost of his mom (Broken Shadow) brings him back to the tribe of endless hunting or something, but then maybe that would have been too cheesy of a story.

Mistystar's Omen Review - 3 stars
This book wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. It takes place after the drought in Omen of the Stars. Leopardstar dies and Mistystar becomes the new leader of RiverClan. Most of this book is her coming to terms with being leader, but also nonstop arguing with Mothwing because Mothwing doesn't believe in Starclan. At the end of the book, she receives a sign of a moth from starclan and decides that Mothwing is a good medicine cat and should be able to do her duties. I just don't see why she needed a sign from starclan to decide that. Mistystar has seen Mothwing do her duties and is a close friend of hers. I guess I just feel like this book was a little pointless.

Cloudstar's Journey Review - 1 star
I hate giving this book a one star because I thought the concept was very interesting. I would have loved a longer story about Cloudstar's life similar to Bluestar's Prophecy, but this novella was just disappointing. There's so many aspects to SkyClan that was just and would be really interesting to read about such as how SkyClan cats go about their daily life before to how they all eventually went their separate ways at the gorge. I don't need another story that just retells what happens in another book. We already knew how the other clans drove them out and what was said. They basically just recycled that content from Firestar's Quest. If you have the option to, I would recommend just skipping this novella entirely and go read Firestar's Quest instead.

Hollyleaf's Story

It was nice to get a glimpse of what happened to Hollyleaf when she was living in the tunnels. But it seems she never figures out that Fallen Leaves is not alive. I think she learns the importance that some secrets don't matter as much as she thinks they do. But it was like this was meant to happen so she could teach her Clan how to fight in tight spaces, like the tunnels.

Mistystar's Omen

When Mistyfoot was receiving her nine lives, life four was given to her by Crookedstar. While giving her a life one life lesson he mentioned to her was to remember that every problem is nothing more than a challenge to overcome. This reminder I think needs to be said more often as there are many life problems every day. However, I did not like how Mistystar treated her friend once she learned the truth about Mothwing not believing in StarClan. I don't know why no one told Mistystar that Mothwing's sign for her to be a medicine cat was false as it was Hawkfrost who planted the moth's wing by the medicine cat den for Mudfur to see. When Mudfur spoke to Mistystar about Mothwing, he didn't mention it. In fact, it made it seem like he didn't even know himself, speaking to her by saying if she was meant to be or how she may have not meant to be. Mudfur says that StarClan allowed her to be a medicine cat which is true I suppose, but they also allowed Tigerstar to become a leader which they should not have allowed. But I do agree, it is not Mistystar's decision to make fully and she should have spoken to StarClan first before making the decision she did, asking Mothwing to retire to the elders den. It never says how Mothwing fully felt. Let's not forget that Mistyfoot is half-Clan as she is born to a RiverClan father, Oakheart and a ThunderClan leader, Bluestar. Mothwing doesn't seem to make a big deal about this of her being half-Clan, but the now Mistystar I guess feels like she now has something on another cat. Far worse than her situation. She doesn't even pay fully attention to when the apprentices are lying to her. She could have caught it right way if she were not so worried about Mothwing. She ignored the apprentices lie about where they were going, in chapter 8 they mention a holly tree and Mistystar realizes it later, but still chooses to ignore it. Her Clan is starving, and she is more focused on Mothwing not believing in StarClan.

Cloudstar's Journey
This was sad to me at the end when Cloudstar had to leave his mate, Birdflight. It is at the end we learn that Spottedkit was once a SkyClan cat and turned into a medicine cat for ThunderClan, because Birdflight chose to live there when SkyClan was forced out of their territory. Seems to me no cat is truly and fully what they think they are.

A nice companion book to the Warriors series, with the return of several familiar characters and a bunch of cameos (I see you, Bluestar). However, I had to use the list of Allegiances at the beginning of each novella to figure out when the stories were taking place, which was slightly confusing. I think the volume was organised with Hollyleaf's story chronologically preceding (or overlapping?) with Mistyfoot's?

Hollyleaf's Story: 3.5 stars. I quite liked this one as it shows Hollyleaf reflecting on what she'd done in Sunrise. I haven't read the fourth arc yet, but I'm guessing this leads up to her return to Thunderclan? The moment with the fox cub was also quite touching, and I'm holding out for a Fallen Leaves reappearance!

description

Mistystar's Omen: 2 stars. I didn't like this one as much because apart from telling us that RiverClan is still struggling for food and that Mistystar now knows that Mothwing is an atheist kitty (lol), there wasn't that much else going on. Also Mistystar's attitude towards a non-StarClan believer was annoyingly close-minded, and just flat-out discriminatory. I guess she needs StarClan a lot more than Mothwing does, if an omen is necessary for her to just treat Mothwing with the respect she deserves!

Cloudstar's Journey: 4 stars. This was probably my favourite of the three, and I just felt so sad while reading it because I know how it ends. It started out so happy and has such a sad ending:

My heart just broke for Cloudstar. I think I need to go re-read Firestar's Quest and SkyClan's Destiny to catch up on what happened to SkyClan!

This was my first novella and I loved it sooo much.

Hollyleaf s novella- 5*
I absolutely hated Hollyleaf before this novella I couldn’t stand her, thankfully that’s now changed. I had very low expectations for this story and they were all exceeded. I loved Hollyleaf s character development and her regret/feelings towards Thunderclan. My favorite thing was probably fallen leaves and his relationship with Hollyleaf. He was hardly in the main series at all but I’m glad this time he got a lot of spotlight.

Mistystars Novella- 3.5*
I could not STAND Mistystar in most of this book. But I loved the plot and Mistystars character growth. Also my atheist girl Mothwing just shines bright I love her. I liked the ending a lot too with the dog attack and Mistystar accepting Mothwing for who she was. However a good chunk of this story just felt like a filler.

Cloudstar s novella- 5+****
So if y’all don’t know I’m a Skyclan warrior at heart so I was so excited to read this story. I loved the world from Cloudstar s POV. It was really intriguing. I loved the apprentice side characters they were really fun to read. I love the warrior cat stories that tie in lessons for human nature. We need to stop tearing down trees because we disrupt the life that’s living there. And OH GOD I hated Thunderclan smelly little pieces of crow food.
By far my favorite novella out of the bunch

So, this one consists out of three books:

Hollyleaf’s story
Mistystar’s omen
And Cloudstar’s journey.

3.5 ★ Hollyleaf’s story.
This book was okay. It was kind of interesting and had some good idea’s you should absolutly give it a try if you’re a Hollyleaf fan. However, the book might get a little boring at some points.

★★ Mistystar’s omen.
I didn’t like Mistystar’/ omen that much. It was just an expand on the whole “mothwing doesn’5 believe in starclan thing.“ it was overal not interesting enough in my opinion. And the “omen“ Mistystar got at the end was kinda weak.

1.5★ cloudstar’s journey.
I found this one very dissapointing. Almost evrything in this book is known in Firestar’/ quest. And even thoigh the title says “journey“, the while journey they made is missing. It’s only about how SkyClan couldn’t stay in the forrest and how stupid Vloudstar could be. Defentaly expected more of this one.

Spoiler Warning!! I thoroughly enjoyed all of these stories and I was so excited to finally get to a place in the main series where I could read these novellas with no spoilers! Hollyleaf’s Story: I am now the official captain of the Hollyleaf and Fallen Leaves ship. They were so sweet with each other, but it broke my heart to see Hollyleaf so upset that Cinderheart had moved on to Lionblaze when they clearly had something going as apprentices. Mistystar’s Omen: I love Mothwing, and I probably liked this one the least because I hated seeing Mothwing getting treated so harshly by her best friend! If only wifey Leafpool was there to help her out... Cloudstar’s Journey: Dang, this one was depressing. Would not recommend if you’re a big Skyclan fan, but it was interesting and emotional for sure.

I love Hollyleaf’s story in this. It did a great job of filling in this gap in her life and it was a great story in itself, helping to show Hollyleaf’s true motivations.

Honestly Mistystar’s one felt pretty boring. It wasn’t exactly a story I could imagine anyone asking for as it could be summarised in a basic sentence. Generally not too bad, it’s nice to see some earlier RiverClan life, just there didn’t seem to be much point to it; not a very interesting story.

I think Cloudstar’s was perfect. It was a well spaced short story which fills in a bit of a blank, yet important, spot in the warriors history. Yes it is a story which has been previously summarised multiple times, but I think it’s nice to have a short story which just gives a bit more detail and adds some emotion to the whole situation.

These three novellas put together into one book were amazing! I love the idea of putting them all in one but that isn't the reason why I loved this "book." The plots of all three characters were great and they revealed, as the title claims, untold stories! I've always wanted to know what Hollyleaf was up to when she ran away from her hard life, and now I know! Hollyleaf's part was my favorite because she's always been my favorite character! Next was Mistystar! Her part revealed how she and Mothwing fell apart! I felt really bad for Mothwing... last but not least was Cloudstar, the leader of SkyClan. He was leader during the time they got driven out! This was an amazing book and I highly suggest that you read it as well!

Read Hollyleaf's Story and Mistystar's Omen, but not really feeling too inclined to read Cloudstar's Journey or whatnot. As I said earlier, neither of these two stories felt necessary to understand anything in the main series and reading/not reading them doesn't affect my enjoyment of the main series, either positive or negative. I've lost interest in SkyClan as a Clan ever since SkyClan's Destiny, so I'm returning it to the library without finishing it. Maybe after I finish all other Warriors books that are out there, I'll come back and read Cloudstar's story, but right now, there are too many other Warriors books I haven't read, and too many other non-Warriors books I want to read, for me to care about finishing this.

Hollyleaf's Story- 2 stars- Overall hit and miss for me, probably because I don't like Hollyleaf very much. Full review at: https://skybookcorner.blogspot.com/20...

Mistystar's Omen- 4 stars- Pretty much exactly what you expect from a Warriors novella: a concise yet functional story to fill in the gaps. This one does that job to a T. Full review at: https://skybookcorner.blogspot.com/20...

Cloudstar's Journey- 3 stars- A bit dragging, but nevertheless it sheds light on a very major event in the past of the Clans. Full review at: https://skybookcorner.blogspot.com/20...

This wasn't my favourite novella collection, but was still enjoyable to read. I think Mistystar's Omen was the best out of the three, as it certainly had the most plot. (Though, once again Mothwing's character was different from all her other appearances... *sigh*) Hollyleaf's Story wasn't super interesting but the vibes were soft and Fallen Leaves is a cool character - I don't know if I ship them yet though. Finally, Cloudstar's Journey was just... quite sad. SkyClan really got dealt a bad hand there, huh? Honestly, Firestar's Quest makes a lot more sense with this novella, as it makes it a little more clear how and why SkyClan got driven out. Overall, this is a good collection - nothing outstanding or really crucial, but enjoyable nonetheless!
