These stories were terrifying! You will feel what all these different characters are going through in each story while reading this. From the jealous husband who does the unthinkable because of a misunderstanding… To the thoughts of a serial killer that will terrify you and have you feeling a little squeamish.. To the end of a marriage and one man’s pain while he lies there…The train that comes for the lost souls, the Graverunners, the bearer that catches them and a journalist trying to get his next big story but what will it cost him… A cursed Inn… To three collage friends that are in for a surprise from their tour guide..

All of these stories in this book will terrify you, twist you and leave you feeling like “what just happened”! The way this author grabs you from the start of this book and takes you down a different path of horror, one like I have never seen before was amazing! You do get some gore with this book and harder moments to read, but everything that happens goes along with the story. I think for me what got me the most with these stories was the feeling of being in the head of whoever was causing the pain or was in pain. The details that are gone into and the sense like you are really there are what I love the most about horror books and you will definitely get that with this book.

I would recommend this book to those who love horror with a different twist then you might be used to but will leave you feeling like you did not want this book to end…

I received this book from the publisher for a honest review!

When I read a book that makes me stop and think about the language that is used, I feel a sense of contentment. After all, isn't that why we read? In a dark fiction novel that contains some pretty intense scenes, perhaps the last thing you would be expecting is beautiful words, yet this is exactly what drew me in from the the very first story in this collection.

Gently Bleeding is a series of short stories and a screenplay that all share the same theme of death, a subject that has always baffled me. However it was a simple exchange between a couple that became my favourite moment. A bedtime conversation about the estrangement within their relationship, although simple, is devastating. The dialogue is real. The effect is enormous, a true testament to a great writer.

I have read a few books by Steven Marshall and he's one of my go to authors when it comes to horror. I recommend him to anyone who likes that genre. This was a great book, very deep and emotional but also terrifying. This isn't so much slasher kind of horror with a lot of gore but more so will leave you thinking about the story long after you've finished it. It will leave you questioning things you might not have thought about before. You'll feel emotions for these characters sometimes it'll be sympathy while other times you'll cheer for their demise and sometimes you'll just be left speechless. The writing is excellent, Steven has a way with words that will draw you in and hold you captive. This is a series of short stories that will chill you to the chore. Enjoy!!

Actually I finished this book a while ago and have recommended it to several people who are really into the dark terrible horror that resides in the author's mind. He is a master, and this book book left me with nightmares. It was glorious! If you are into the dark and terrible, horrific nightmarish story, this is the book for you.
