His perseverance unnerved me, scrutinizing my every move like a twisted guardian angel. Jace waited patiently for me to join him. Like he knew my defiance would crumble under his intense gaze, which was exactly why I avoided him...until twilight. He hijacked my dreams and proved to be a different kind of nightmare - unhinged, rebellious, and dangerously mouth-watering. "Escape from reality, Gwyneth. Sometimes life can be too painful to live in, even for immortals," Jace whispered in my dream. His heat, fervor, and unrelenting confidence resonated around me when he closed the gap between us. His lips hovered above mine, waiting for me to give into him. *** Gwyneth's chronicle began long before she witnessed her family being brutally murdered and lost her sight. Living as an orphan, her world is anything but black and white. She sees her vivid future that promises suffering and death. Cursed with these visions, Gwyneth pretends to be like everyone else, until a dangerously charismatic, young man walks into her life. From the moment Jace lays eyes on her, he refuses to believe Gwyneth is normal. He knows information about her past that only a psychopathic stalker could dig up. He reveals her dirty secrets. Unbeknownst details of Gwyneth's former life unfurl. Unsure of what to believe, Gwyneth searches for answers that lead to her inconceivable fate. However, the ancient truth she uncovers is more dangerous than any high school romance she'd bargained for. Gwyneth is drug into an inevitable battle brewing between immortal Gods and ageless Hunters - both of which have sworn to swear to kill her if deemed necessary.

Award Winning Author, Sarah J. Pepper, specializes in fantasy and paranormal romance. She unveils the beauty of love in her new adult/young adult novels. Her works envelope dark, paranormal romance - think "happy ever after" but with a twisted, dark chocolate center. Real-life romance isn't only filled with hugs, kisses, bunnies, and rainbows. True-love can be more thoroughly described in times of darkness and tribulation. It's in those harsh moments where you see what a person is truly capable of - both the good and bad. Sometimes prince-charming isn't always on time, and the glass slipper is a little snug. However, it doesn't mean Charming is not Mr. Right, and who says every shoe is the perfect fit? www.sarahjpepper.com

Anyone who knows Sarah J. Pepper’s style will know she does nothing halfway and Forgotten is proof of this author’s strong creative streak! Get ready to be plunged head-first into this tale, swimming in the nightmares that live in young Gwyneth’s dreams. She is being killed, she feels it is her future, that someday she will meet the boy responsible.

Her life has been filled with pain and loss, even though she appears by all counts to be a normal, self-assured teen with a touch of angst every once in a while, except, she is legally blind. After witnessing the brutal murder of her family, her mind refused to let her risk any more ugliness.

In a tale that blends mythology with contemporary teen lives, Gwyneth meets and is drawn like a moth to the bright flame of Jace. Yet, is he the boy in her dreams? How can she be falling for someone who may be the death of her, literally?

Are they souls from the past, destined to keep repeating history and losing each other over and over? Is there more to Gwyneth’s past that only the gods know of? What Jace tells her cannot be true, but events are proving him right. With a leap of faith, her heart reaches for Jace, until someone else claims him and she is left broken once again.
Gwyneth is in danger, and she is only beginning to understand why, who can she trust? When will the hunters come for her?

Page one and Sarah J. Pepper is off and has latched on to my hand, pulling me at warp speed, through each scene, every turn and every unveiling of each new element to this tale. Well written, chaotic, yet romantic, she has created a firm foundation for this series for anyone who loves to have to think about what they are reading, instead of having it spoon fed.

I received a review copy from Sarah J. Pepper in exchange for my honest review.

Detailed Review: <Review copy received from the author herself>

At the start of the story, I was blown away. I mean, the start of the book was already sooo good! So... at the beginning, we learn about a boy who's killing Gwyneth and suddenly she wakes up to find out, it was all a dream. Actually we also learn that Gwyneth's been having these dreams lately, knowing fully that one day that would be her destiny; being killed by *that* guy in her dreams.

Sarah J. Pepper (the author) wrote such an excellent plot that practically the book was brimming with excitement that made you go... "Woah." I was really impressed with the author's writing as well as her expressive words!

At first, I was genuinely surprised by her bestfriend's boyfriend, Ryker. Gwyneth's bestfriend, Bree is a really good friend and at the same she had the really opposite boyfriend of herself. Ryker is totally mean, hateful towards Gwyneth and a total bleh to everyone.

The characters were written quite well with detailed descriptions that 'frame' each character wonderfully. You'll definitely enjoy this book once you get a taste of it!

GWYNETH; I love this character! She's strong but she's more than a typical normal teenage girl - actually - there's more to this dark tale and under that pure blond hair of hers. Once she meets Jace, can she get enough of him or is this the start of upside-down relationship?

JACE; Charismatic, in-between, who is Jace really? When he meets Gwyneth, everything he's ever known is just blown away. They're both drawn together like gravity as the relationship blossoms, who knows who will kill each other first?

A story of Goddesses and ageless Hunters like in summary, a world filled with the unknown is a dangerous place for Gwyneth. Hunted down and found, the question is; what can Gwyneth do to stop this madness? To end this battle that has been brewing before her time?

I guarantee you'll fall in love with this book! Sarah J. Pepper has developed and created a story surrounding the world where a girl is someone she never knew before, a life that has been shadowed, enemies at your every turn, this book has a delicious ending and twist that will make you want MORE!

Brief Review: Forgotten by Sarah J. Pepper is an author who has created a world where the unknown is sweetly dangerous with twists and a secret hush between the past and present, this book will NOT disappoint you.

My Rating: 5/5 "Totally Amazing!"

Forgotten was a great start to The Fate Trilogy. I found myself devouring this book in 6 hours and instantly wanted to know more. The characters were engaging and their interactions were realistic and left me feeling intrigued.I enjoyed the mythology put into the world of the novel and of course enjoyed the spice thrown in during the yearning young adult romance. Of course the concept of old souls along with the danger and betrayal. Of course the angst of youth and the sheer stubbornness of Winnie our leading lady made me want to shake her and say wake up! But that's a sign of a good book. I developed feelings for the characters and enjoyed the book in general. My only complaint is that I instantly wanted more and have to wait for another chunk of hours to read the second installment in the trilogy.

Please give this book a chance. It was hard for me to understand what was going on at the beginning because it was hard to determine what was real and what wasn't but once I pushed myself to continue reading, it became a beautiful story. I truly felt the emotions in this book. I was there, feeling them as Gwyneth was feeling them. The story unfolds and you finally start to understand everything that was going on in the beginning and you just can't stop reading. The only reason why I gave it a 4 and not a 5 is because of my initial confusion. I am sure that if I were to go back and reread this, it would all flow nicely and be a lot easier to get through. But please don't get discouraged initially because the rest of the book is definitely worth the read.

From the moment I began this book, I was mind-blown. Not only with the blurb, but the trailer which finished winning me over and making me forget any other doubt of reading this. In this story, we are met with Gwyneth, this unusual blind person, making her only see blurry shadows of those around her. But she knows what's fiery red, sky-blue, and brilliant yellow because of visions she has of her "future". Her life consisted of surviving each day with these visions of a not-so-happy future, the memory of a family she never got to know, and her blindness. She had accepted all this. Until Jace gets in the picture, claiming to know who she is, from where she comes, and a way to make her see the splendor of the world again.

In this story we have a lot of twist, among the characters and the myth in it. We encounter these deities and the most important characters here, the fates. I loved how the author described them. The common Greek myth describes them as being ugly and that stuff, while here we don't. I love the fates because they are somewhat victims of their own "gift". And here I see something of that, which I loved. There aren't any mentions of the usual Greek gods, other than the fates, and these deities completely made up by the author, as far as I know.

I loved how Gwyneth was, how she didn't want to fall for oh-so-swoonworthy Jace. (I did in the first chapter.) She's strong even with her discapacity and life situation. We see her character grow as she discovers why she's the ways he is and starts to accept her destiny, even when she has so many other problems to deal with. She was a believable character, not only a cardboard one. While Jace...

If charisma, raw hunger, and undying lust could be wrapped up into one hot package, it'd be called 'Jace'.

You see? He's so positive, supporting, and understanding towards Gwyneth even when she pushes him away. There are times when he just explodes and leave, but anyone would react that way, which makes me like him more. And the guy that makes as him on the back cover of the book and the trailer... *swoons*. And the other character are so full of personalities, detailed in a way that makes you think of real people, that you know them and know what they're capable of doing, or in some cases, deceive you.

The story makes you think that even with the bad things, something good must happen. That there are second chances for everyone to make things up and right. It made me think a lot on how we have to learn to trust even when we don't. Trust is earned, but we also have to give it to receive it. And how with sad things, we can learn to appreciate the bliss of the happy things.

It's so full of romance, hope, vengeance, hate, action, it has it all wrapped up in (unfortunately) 396 pages. It'll make your heart ache from the first chapter. An utterly mesmerizing and compelling read.

Some of my favorite quotes:

Lies weren't always easy to live, but they were tempting to hide in.

Sorrow amplifies bliss... You can't truly experience one to its fullest potential without surviving the other. You can't experience love without understanding hate.

Reading this book was so much fun! By ‘fun’ I actually mean, “I have got the HOTs for Jace BAD!”

“You know nothing of war, do you, Gwyneth?” Jace said. “No, you are just a little girl, mad at the world.” –Sarah J. Pepper, p.67

That quote doesn’t even come close to the amazing fabulousness that is Jace Eatros. Hang tight guys, there will be more quotes on this matter.

With that let’s start the list:

1. Slow Start

While the story is quite gripping, it takes a while to gain some steam. Things started getting super interesting a little after the halfway mark, which is late for me in a novel. All the clues were laid out in the first half; I was just getting antsy to learn the suspense. It was getting super annoying that I had to wait for a good 200 pages before some of the unveiling began (of course this annoyance was nothing compared to the Hotness of Jace). Anyway, part of me has to ask the question whether this story could have been told in lesser amount of pages. The suspense wouldn’t lose its enticing quality and some of the boring parts could have been spared.

“You make it very difficult for me to show you my true intensions,” he said and handed me my backpack back. “Courting was so much easier, when a girl knew how to act like a lady.” – Sarah J. Pepper, p. 258

2. Blindness

I would like to hand it to Pepper for accurately describing such a difficult condition. Gwyneth’s blindness is special where she can make out shapes and grey colors, and, like most blind people, her other sense are heightened. Most people cannot adequately describe this phenomenon in movies or even to one another let alone write about it in a novel. The way Gwyneth sees the people around her and the world is so different from the way anyone normal would view it. It is astonishing how incredibly well Pepper captured that essence.

“So give me a taste of your kiss, and let me be reborn into a life of eternal passion.” Jace said, speaking in the same melody. – Sarah J. Pepper, p. 201

3. Jace Eatros

Come on, you saw this coming! Hell yes, I’m devoting an entire section of my review to the hunkitude of Jace. The chemistry between him and Gwyneth is unbelievable and makes me want to be her so bad (regardless of her tragic history). I mean if I had a boy after me the way Jace is chasing Gwyneth, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second. So, it did kind of upset me that Gwyneth was pushing Jace away so much…but I guess it makes for a spicy tale to tell.

“If he were here right now, Id swoon because the sound of his voice would completely overwhelm me. Oh, how I wish that he’d wrap his arms around me and protect me all life’s complications that I’m facing now,” I said with equal sarcasm. – Sarah J. Pepper, p. 180

If it isn’t evident, I would like point out how much I really enjoyed this book. It was un-put-down-able! I recommend this read for anyone looking for something fun, with a fantasy twist and who love cutastic boys. The character of Jace alone is enough to warrant a read. It’s really unfortunate that he has to be fictional.

I would like to thank the author for hooking me up with this ARC to review.

Happy Fictional Loves!!!

The best way to explain Forgotten, is if Phenomenal and Epic got together, had an extremely steamy night of passion and then 38-40 weeks later Forgotten was born. Corny - I know, but oh my fricken god this book is,

I could not put down Forgotten once I started. I had to feed and put my child and husband to bed but even then, my head was still in the story. I tried to go to bed and after 30 seconds lecturing myself on the importance of a full night's rest, I knew sleep was futile until I finished this book.

The only issue I had and it wasn't really an issue, I was just sort of confused in the beginning with the italic parts. I didn't feel like it made the story a deal breaker, obviously - if anything it made me want to understand the meaning behind them more. I just wanted to put it out there, that if you're confused or lost, you will understand later. Also, I should warn you about the...

I'm not one handle fictional frustration of the sexual nature well. That sounds bad but in cases where the character or characters fight the attraction, I'm internally screaming "Just do it already!" Consider me the devil on the character's shoulder explaining why being bad is so very good. With this book though, I thought it was well done. Either way, this novel rocked. It's what all other novels about 'this' genre/type of characters wish they were. I recently read a pretty well known author's book about something similar and while I enjoyed that author's work, this is just so much better. So Forgotten, you earned it, excuse me while I...

I'm off to read then next one.
Oh wait! I almost forgot something important, the overall conflict of this book is resolved, but the bigger main conflict is left opened. I don't want to say its a cliffhanger, because I don't feel like it was. Hmm how do I put this, I'm pleased with where the book was left versus wanting to slam my head into a wall over and over again. You are left waiting the rest of the story but not so much so that you wanna strangle something in the mean time. I highly recommend this book. Happy Reading!

I am so impressed with this read the author blew me away with how unique and epic this story was and it’s only the beginning in this trilogy. In the beginning of the story I was confused because I didn’t know what was going on, but I loved that. Makes me connect with the character, because that how Gwyneth felt, her life was changing and she could not comprehend why. So as you read you’re following her journey to actually find all the answer that come to her why she looking for the truth. Of course she has great company to help her; Jace he confused me so much. Which was what Gwyneth felt; even without the past she lived through in this life. Makes sense whole lot of sense why she wouldn’t; I certainly didn’t why I was reading, he always spoke in riddles. All answers are answered in the end where everything finally comes together.
I am so impressed with the author; she came up with this completely new story that does not compare to any other. How she wrote the story was great because Gwyneth kept having visions and dreams, that were colliding with the really of her life and she could not understand what happen. Her past made her fight, and that what I enjoy with Gwyneth she is strong for herself, I love strong characters. Lets not forget Jace, he so confusing, but so persistently crazy it comes off just so sweet, because you can tell how he much cares. The other characters are great to because they fit perfectly to the story being told but also help express better the story give it more depth. I just loved this book it was an amazing surprise. Got surprised when something would happen because I didn’t know that was going to happen. The author took me on a new adventure with her story. Just so fresh and new that I was pulled me right in from the beginning wanting to figure out what was happening.
I give this book five huge stars, was just so unique and epic, wow. So, if you are looking for something totally new and love paranormal this book is for you; without a doubt. You will so entertain; there is humor, romance, mystery, adventure, and action all packed in this amazing read. Cannot wait to read the second book this trilogy so anxious to start and continue reading this amazing, unique world the author created.

I was given this book in return for an honest review. I'm going to keep my synopsis short on this book, if I get to into it, I will give everything away. Gwyneth was an infant when her family was murdered. As a result of the mental trauma, she lost her sight. She lives with a wonderful couple and tries to lead a normal life. Then everything changes with the arrival of the mysterious Jace. She sees him as a bright burning light and it makes her physically ill. He won't leave her alone, he shows up everywhere and insists on being near her. Over time, the physical side affects dim somewhat and Jace begins to tell her of a past she has no memory of. Can she believe what he is saying? She has no one she can talk to about it, nobody would believe her anyway. She has her best friend and her close boxing buddy, but that's about it and she thinks she may be going crazy, and is sure they would think so as well. It doesn't help that she's having visions on top of all the other weird stuff going on around her. He makes her nervous and excited at the same time. In the end, she will have to trust somebody, but will she make the right choice? Her choice ultimately will have the fate of an entire race hanging in the balance. Want a taste of Jace?? His voice tasted like syrup on my tongue, but his lips never moved. This book was refreshingly different, I love when I read something new and not like all the other books. There is a lot of tension between Jace and Winnie, it is palpable through the entire book. This was a very original story line and I enjoyed trying to figure out what the heck was going on. There is a lot of intricacies to this story and it's background. The paranormal elements are super cool but you really need to pay attention to the story and the visions or you will have to backtrack to understand what is going on. The only complaint I have is that it did get a bit dragged out in the middle of the story, but that's it.

This book had potential to be amazing, but it fell somewhat flat on the carry out. Gwyneth a living s semi-normal life with her foster parents. She can only see outlines of gray, until she meets Jace. He is a bright white spot in a world of grey. Literally. It's just too bad her makes her nauseous, clammy, tired and well just sick. And he also makes her want to kill him as soon as he opens his mouth. And then there's that part of her that wants to kiss him like he's a missing part of her soul despite the other two.
I like how the author describes Gwenyth's vision. I could actually understand and see how she things so that part was great.
Jace was the best part of the whole novel. His attitude and comments made me want to slap...right after I finished making out with him that is ( Whaaaaaaat?) However, I don't really understand what he is and that's my one big issue with this book, it left me so confused. Why is Jace working for Anelee if she basically killed the person he loved a few lifetimes ago and then stole something that was so important to her? And I know I'm talking in riddles but I don't want spoilers. Then, why does Analee need Deino? I mean she already tortured and killed her once. Also the whole Marco thing? I just didn't understand anything that was happening towards the end of the book. I actually checked to see if my kindle was missing parts because like a really major event would happen and then it would just be overlooked and not explained. Like towards the end, Analee should want to kill Gwyneth and yet that part was never addressed. I don't know maybe my Kindle was spazzing because I swear this left me so confused about the whole deity and Fates world.

I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest, spoiler free opinion.

I will start off my saying that I LOVE the paranormal genre. And Forgotten was so unique.

I will start off with Gwyneth. When she was a child she witnessed her family being murdered and due to the trauma she was diagnosed to be legally blind, though she can see in different shades of gray. Pepper did a really good job with describing the everyday life of someone with such a difficult condition. Gwyneth lives with a loving foster family and tries to have as normal a life that she can. But normal is underrated. She believes herself to be clairvoyant, having dreams that she thinks are scenes of her future. But then her life changes when Jace forces himself into her life. Though she is drawn to him for reasons she does not know or understand she tries to stay away from him.

Jace is a mysterious boy. And I imagine him to be beyond gorgeous!!! At first I found that he talked in riddles as he was trying to get Gwyneth to trust him and to divulge too much information would put her in danger. But he has to heal her and help her remember the life she has forgotten, the love she has forgotten. And the journey getting there was captivating.

I am not going to lie there were some parts that kept me confused however, in the end everything came together.

Forgotten has a lot of twist between the characters. Will the visions from her past affect the present? And of course the incorporation of the fates, I loved Pepper’s vision of these characters. I prefer to envision them as being beautiful than how common Greek mythology describes them to be ugly.

This book is packed with love, hate, vengeance, action and best of all hope! I would recommend this to any paranormal romance fan. I myself can't wait to read the rest in the series.

Let me begin by saying that the end of the book (regardless of the frustration) makes reading the book worth it but it was one main thing that made me give this book a 3 and not a 5. That being that for about 73% (yes i did count) of the book i was completely lost! BEYOND LOST! The author repeated certain sections later on in the book so they would make sense the second time around. But for the entirety of the beginning i felt like i was an outsider on some inside joke. Other than that there was also the fact that Gwenyth could so easily believe everything anyone said and had no problem what so ever with Jace saying he wasn't human. I don't know about you but i kinda expected a "What you aren't human?! What are you?" moment (i mean she had one but what bothered her more was that she was attracted to him and feared him not that he kept saying he wasn't human or that he knew everything about her OR that he made her feel pain).

HOWEVER! I must say that i got the ePub from the author this morning and have not put it down till i finished it. At first Gwenyth's inability to see frustrated me because i felt like i was condemned with her but i found that that was the beauty of the writing, we were completely immersed in this character. Even re reading her memories, which albeit bothered me at times, was key in us understanding the story with Gwyneth vs. an outsiders viewpoint.

I will be reading the second of the series but i hope that the moments with Jace and Gwenyth grow in romance and depth (Think more Gwyneth at the dinner with Jace and her first dream and less the weirdly descibed and cryptic scenes in the art class).

I enjoyed the plot and story of this book. I'll admit it was hard to understand and keep up with what was going on though. When Winnie had her visions I had a very hard time understanding what was happening and who was who. Towards the end it made a lot more sense to me. I needed a better understanding of the terminology used, maybe if these uncommon/fantasy words were better defined in the beginning it would have helped. I think I will re read the book so it will make sense to me now that I've finished it.

Also I wasn't too keen on how slow the book was. I just wanted Winnie to remember who she was and who Jace was to her. This is not the authors fault, but my own. I could tell how close and connected these two were and I just wanted to see that connection as soon as possible.

There were quite a few twists that I wasn't expecting. Which was nice. The ending was not what I was expecting, as far as who sees her in the hospital.

The author gives very good descriptions for the looks and feel of things, since Winnie is blind. You are feeling and sensing things from her perspective most of the time. This brings a new point of view that I'm not used to reading. I could really picture what was happening throughout the book. When she saw black & white figures I could see them. When she saw the bright light coming from Jace I could picture that as well. I love when books are written like this because I easily become wrapped up in the story, like I'm there in that world.

The second book in the series comes out soon and I will definitely be reading it.

I would like to thank the author for gifting me this book for a honest review. And thanks to We luv YA books group.

We are Introduced to Gwyneth, shes a teenage girl when she was younger her family was murdered and from that she is blind, shes able to see grayness and some shapes. She lives with her foster parents and gets along with them very well, she tries to live a preety normal life, going to school hanging out with her best friend. Then one night she falls and meets Jace and his shape is white, bright and she senses something different about him and his friend. She tries her best to stay away from him and wants nothing to do with him. But Jace is everywhere and enrolls in her school is in her classes, he's determined. Soon Gwyneth starts to have visions and strange things happen when Jace and his friend are around her. Jace starts to tell her what they are and why they are there. He wants her to trust him, but Gwyneth stuggles that and with the visions. After things start to come out in the open on what she is or was, she struggles to except it.

I realy enjoyed this book. I did get a bit frustrated with Gwyneth at times with her always fighting her feelings for Jace. At times I got a bit lost on what was going on. At times I felt the visions were too much, ya we did learn alot from the visions, but some of the visions we saw over and over again. We did get to see how Gwyeneth and Jace's relationship was like. I loved Jace, great guy, he totally loves Gwyneth and how he would do anything for her. Great read!! Cant wait to read the next one. :)

Sarah J. Pepper blew my mind away once again with Forgotten. Never did I even think that someone would write a book about the Three Fates. And here we have Sarah J. Pepper doing exactly that and doing it well.

Gwyneth is a blind girl with the ability to see the future. Wih only nighmares for company, Gwyneth is trying her best to move ahead in the murk that is her life. Believing in supernatural is not the the pragmatics, but everything that is going on around Gwyneth proves that supernatural too is a part of the world she lives in. Her dreams are a mirror to her future death and she'll be killed by the very man she loves.

When Gwyneth meets Jace, she is instantly drawn to him. How she even fall for the guy destined to kill her? Jace did try to support Gwyneth every step of the way, but with him keeping secrets it's not easy to believe him. Gwyneth herself has a lot to her that no one knows. This book is as unpredictable as it can get. The twists at every step of the way leaving you wondering what the hell happened, and the identity of the person who ultimately betrayed Gwyneth, I couldn't even have though of.

Gwyneth and Jace are two old souls who have loved and lost each other in their past lives. Will history be as cruel as to repeat itself? In this intriguing tale of love, loss and anguish we'll find all about it. Forgotten leaves us wanting for more. With the steady pace the author maintains, and the novelty with which she deals with in this novel, Forgotten will blow your mind and keep you on your toes.

Read the full review on my book blog The Book Brats

First thought when I started to read the book: She is blind. How is this going to work? Well Sarah made is work alright. I constantly forgot that Gwyneth was blind. She is independent, stubborn, and has a dark past. One she doesn't even know about.

Through Gwyneth's flashbacks we see her past life, and the murder of her family (Which ties into the whole plot line.) It was confusing until the end when you found out who and what she is. The flash backs are of all different things that she thinks are going to happen in the future, but she eventually learns they happened in her past.

My thoughts were really conflicted on this book. I liked it, then is confused me, then I didn't like it. But overall it was really well written with a interesting plot line.

So Gwyneth was originally Denio who Jace killed (the reason is confusing) and all the other deity's took oath to find the faith sisters who are the strongest goddesses there are? Confusing. BUT when you read the second book in the series everything is easier to understand.

I am going to end this review now. I have nothing more to say about the book other then I really really enjoyed it (and that I didn't sleep)

When Gwyneth was little, her family was killed. All but her. In the midst of such trauma, she lost her sight. Well, mostly. She could see shades of gray, outlines of people. Doctors can't explain it, she can't explain it, but its the way she has grown to know life. Its not until a night out with her best friend Bree, that things take a wild turn. One of the outlines that she sees, begins to glow. Jace walks into her life, and turns it upside down. When she begins to get visions, Winnie is sure that she has gone crazy. But Jace is sure that she is a long lost deity, come back to save her race. It will take a lot of convincing, and maybe a miracle or 2, for things to fall into place. The story had me turning the page to see what happened next. Would she remember who she was? Would she remember Jace? Would she remember what happened the night her family died? It was very well written. The only thing that kept me from giving this book 5 stars, is that it is in need of a deep editing. A few times I was having to re-read parts to catch what was being said, or if it was a vision, etc. That being said, I still can't wait to see what happens in the rest of the series.

I received a free copy of this book from the author through Goodreads We ♥ YA Books! group in exchange for an honest review.

First off I would like to say that I loved this book. The way the author created a mythological world into a everyday world blew me away. This book start's off as Gwenyth a blind teen who can some what see shadows, get's knocked over at the bowling alley. Here comes this bright light of a man who attack's her attacker for hurting her. Another man comes to heal her wounds and he's the brightest white of them both who name is Jace.

Gwenyth does want to get close to anyone but Jace wants her. He even start's going to her school and joins her in her classes and becomes friends with her best friends boyfriend. Series of event's happen and Gwenyth start's to learn who she is and who she was. Jace is her past but also her future and there are people out there who want to hurt her and she start's to trust Jace to give her answer's but also protect her if need be. This book involves Gods and Goddess and Mythological Folk Lore you couldn't imagine. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

Forgotten was a perfect first book for the Fate Trilogy. The ending will not disappoint and will leave you wanting to read the second book right away.

The passion between the two main characters, Gwyneth (Winnie) and Jace is so strong I felt it. MMM, Jace! I'm 32 years old and this is the first time I have fallen in love with a book character! It may have started as lust, but I was head over heels by the end of the book – long before that, really.

If you have an interest in romance, paranormal romance or just raw passion and mystery, this book is a MUST READ! I don't want to say too much and give the story away, I just want to say that I strongly encourage anyone who had enough interest in this book to take the time to browse the reviews, to get it, NOW. You will be glad you did!

Cannot wait for the 2nd book of the trilogy! I will be reading it ASAP!
- Update: I have now read The second book “Twisted Games” and it remains the best book (out of 4) I have ever read by this author!

I liked this book. It was well written and was engaging. I really thought the author did a good job of making the reader see what Gwyneth was seeing even though she was blind. It was confusing at times, but I thought the author did a really good job.

I liked reading a little bit about greek mythology by having Gwyneth be one of the three fates. I thought the transition between past and present and past lives was handled very well and easy to follow.

I found the characters engaging and really liked the relationship between Gwyneth and her fellow foster sister, Elsie. I loved how they related to each other, and I found it very enduring that Gwyneth allowed Elsie to guide her and help her when she didn't need help.

So many times in life, allowing others to help us or serve us, has more to do with the other persons needs than our own.

I struggled between 4 and 5 stars on this book. I ended up giving it 4.5 stars just because it frustrated me but in a good way. I couldnt read it fast enough to find out what happened. In this story the author seamlessly wove us into a world of gods and humnas. Everything about this story was flawlessly done except the end! I loved each character some I loved to hate. The author has a knack of being descriptive through the eyes of a blind girl. Telling us of visions of a life past and of the present.
What I didn't like was when you finally find out what has happened and when Gwenyth finaly remembers the story has ended. I get that is a cliffhanger to make you want to read the next book. (and I will) It is just frustrating and made me want to scream! That is why I struggled with the 4/5 stars.

I was confused through the first half of Forgotten but my guess is that is what Sarah was aiming for. Most of the time, the reader just knows what Gwyneth (or Winnie) knows, and she’s in a state of confusion throughout most of the book.

I like Sarah’s style of writing. I did get tired of the same memories being repeated over with just a little added each time. I’m not sure if there would be a better way to accomplish what she did, but I found myself skipping to the end of those memories.

The relationship between the 2 main characters, Gwyneth and Jace, is one of those one-of-a-kind loves. The problem is that Gwyneth doesn’t remember Jace even though her body does, which is even more confusing for the poor girl.

If you like young adult fantasy/romance you’ll definitely like this book.

I have always had a fascination with mythology of any kind, and it's been a long time since I've read a modern interpretation even HALF as well done as this one. For some reason, the Fates have hidden in the back of my mind. I know of them, and a little bit about them, but after reading this I want.. no, I NEED to read more!

The book tended to drag in a few places, and some areas tended to seem repetitive, but I am NOT a fan of books where people meet and then get married 2 weeks later because they know without a doubt happily ever after will ensue. The relationship between Winnie and Jace has already transcended time...she's just 'forgotten'. He needed her to remember him, and defenses take a while to break down when your life has been as hard as hers.

I absolutely loved Forgotten by Sarah J Pepper. I thought the storyline was unique, the plot was interesting, the characters were compelling. This book pulled me in from the beginning and kept me turning the pages. I was never quite certain what was going to happen with the exception that I figured out the main "baddie" at least for this book pretty early on, but when he was finally revealed it was a "Yes, I was right" moment.
I highly recommend this book to all paranormal lovers, people who love paranormal fantasy and paranormal romances. Also this book offers some unique takes on gods/goddesses and mythology, which I really liked.
* Note: I received a copy of this book in return for my honest and frank opinion. *

I finished this book last night and OMG Sarah J Pepper is an absolute genius! This has got to be one of the best books i have EVER Read. Stop what you are doing and get this book NOW! I wish i could have given it more than a 5 star rating. The charachters are so in depth and real and the story line is simply amazing, it is one of those stories that you just have to keep turning the page, like an impulse because you need to know what was going to happen next. Definately one of my favourite authors now !!!!!

I greatly enjoyed this breath of fresh air, but at times i got annoyed with Winnir. I mean, you are obviously something other than human & stop being so stubborn! I mean, I'm stubborn, but not that bad. I hate Analee & I really wish someone would kill her...slowly, I want Winnie to get her scavengers back, I want go know her plan & who her sisters are. All & all, I enjoyed this book & look forward to reading the next

I had a bit of trouble getting into this book. I didn't particularly like Jace, and some of the visions threw me. I didn't know what to think about the story. However, after finishing this book I want to READ it AGAIN. I want to see if I catch every hint of what is to come. I am definitely going to read Fate #2.

I definitely recommend giving this book a shot.
