Love in El Dorado #2
A Poinsettia Paradise Christmas: A Cozy, Grumpy-Sunshine Holiday Romance
This Christmas a lump of coal might just turn into a diamond…. Natalie Gonzalez-Torres has never been a fan of Christmas. As the manager of her family’s coffee shop, she avoids all the holiday kitch. But this year, her uncle assigns her to run a coffee cart at Poinsettia Paradise tree farm to prove she’s ready to become a full partner. The assignment feels like a lump of coal in her non-existent stocking, until a Christmas tree farmer helps uncover her inner elf. Too bad she’s already given up on finding love. Mason Lavigne bursts with expansion and improvement ideas for his family’s Christmas Tree Farm, but his dad still still sees him as a kid. This Christmas, Mason’s determined to prove his worth, especially after his dad mentions he’s thinking of selling. With his stress off the charts, helping Natalie is a bright light this holiday season as long as Mason’s not distracted from his mission by her sparkling eyes and quick wit. They both have something to prove but doing it together might be more than they can resist.

This didn't click quite as well for me as the first one but I still enjoyed myself. I liked the prickly heroine of it all and her reluctance to be in a relationship made a lot of sense to me.

Janine Amesta never disappoints in my opinion. I love that Natalie truly is the grumpy to Mason’s sunshine in this holiday romance. I also loved how Natalie and Mason had trying to prove themselves to their families in common. My favorite parts of the book were the small but sweet and thoughtful ways Mason showed he cared about Natalie and the point where Natalie realized it was okay to give in to her love for Mason. I now want to read the rest of the Love in El Dorado series.

A sweet Christmas romance by Janine Amesta.
I received an arc of A Poinsettia Paradise Christmas in exchange for my honest review. This is the second book in the Love in El Dorado series. This book features Natalie Gonzalez-Torres who manages her uncle’s coffee shop. She wants to be a partner in the business and keeps talking to him to hopefully make that happen. He sets up a plan for a coffee cart to be at his friend’s farm and tree lot during the holidays. He tells her this can be a way for her to show him she should become a partner. Natalie meets his friend and his son Mason Lavigne when they come to discuss the coffee cart. We learn that Mason’s dad is planning to retire after this season and he is hoping to take over the business. He also has to prove himself because of things that he has done in the past.
Natalie is not a fan of Christmas and doesn’t believe in relationships because of the way her parents have always acted. She isn’t happy about running the coffee cart and all the Christmas stuff there. Mason is the opposite and loves all things Christmas. He gifts her with a real tree the two pick out and helps her decorate it. Natalie tries to resist all of Mason’s overtures towards her. He has fallen for her and she won’t admit to herself how she feels about him. They spend time sharing food after working at her cart and the tree lot. Her friend Mia tries to help her get past her hang ups about Mason and having a relationship. He introduces her to his friends when he takes her to a game night and she again worries about ending up unhappy like her parents. Mason slowly works his magic to change her opinions on Christmas as well as the two being a couple.
This is a wonderful story of opposites attracting and a sweet and beautiful romance. I loved the characters Janine has created. They have flaws but are genuine and likable. This series is well written and enjoyable to read. I look forward to the next book.

This one I've rated 3.5 stars, but rounded up to 4 stars (I'll explain at the end).
A Poinsettia Paradise Christmas is book two of the Love in El Dorado series by Janine Amesta. Being that I've not read book one, I can also say that this works fine as a standalone book.
A Poinsettia Paradise Christmas brings together Natalie Gonzalez-Torres and Mason Lavigne. Natalie is a true Grinch who dislikes Christmas - or anything that brings the family together - with a passion. She works with her Tio, helping him run his coffee shop. She loves working for her Tio and she even has ambitions on how to help him expand the potential of the coffee shop. Mason isn't a Grinch, he also has a far less complex family dynamic than Natalie, although that isn't to say that it isn't difficult for him. Mason works the family nursery/Christmas tree farm business with his parents, who are planning to retire to a warmer climate.
They are thrown together when Mason and his father organise some family friendly activities on site at the nursery as their small town prepares for Christmas. The attraction between them is immediate, however, the path romance is not simple. Natalie has commitment issues and Mason is a little gun shy when it comes to romance. This is a slow burn romance with a small dose of angst from Natalie.
Now, to explain my rating. I found Natalie difficult to like. I understood her backstory and her issues with commitment, but I still disliked how wishy washy she was with Mason. I really liked Mason and Natalie together, but I struggled with her attitude, to the point that part of me thought that I wouldn't mind if they didn't get together in the end.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is book two in The Love in EL Dorado series and it is Natalie and Mason’s story. Natalie is the manager of the family coffee shop and she is not a fan of all the Christmas hype but when her uncle tells her that she is too run a coffee cart at Poinsettia Paradise Tree Farm she is definitely not happy but she will have to do this if she wants to become a full time partner and she is hoping that the time goes quickly so that she can get back to her job and life. Mason wants to improve and expand the family’s Christmas Tree Farm Business where as his father wants to sell it so now the pressure is on and Mason only has a short amount of time to prove himself so there is definitely not time to be distracted especially as he is already stressed with the pressure that he is under. When Natalie and Mason meet there is a attraction between them but Natalie having commitment issues and Mason being shy when it comes to women and romance things could get complicated especially as they both have baggage and trust issues due to there family and past so things will not be easy for these two but will they be able the weather the storm and get the happiness and future that they both want and deserve, well you will have to read this book to find out but you will not be disappointed with the outcome. This book was written so beautifully and pulled you in right from the beginning and kept your attention throughout and i cant wait to read more books by this author.

A Poinsettia Paradise Christmas (Love in El Dorado Book 2) by Janine Amesta
This story follows Natalie who runs the coffee shop at her uncles place. She has the opportunity if she tries hard enough to be the new owner when he retires. Love that she spends time with data and putting into a spreadsheet to prove that a coffee truck woutld work out well for them.
Story also follows Mason who's in line to take over the family tree farm business. He is given the chance and they have food trucks there and all kinds of activities for children and families to participate in while getting their own tree. A few obstacles are in the way and after meeting Natalie and wanting to spend more time with her and as he listens to her issues he realizes his parents are not that close to one another.
Natialie lives with her parents but they are no happy at all and the father spends his time in the garage. the parents just do nto get along and Natalie fears the same thing will happen to her so she stays away from dating and men.
You figure with what they all hae going on there is no way they will go the distance with one another. Mason talks to his father while Natalie is hearing about the opportunities at the shop with her uncle and asking about her parents when they first got together.
You wonder where they will each end up...
Great story, a bit drawn out for me but love the holiday activities.

I loved that Natalie was more a Halloween girlie than Christmas fan. Having to work in a coffee truck on a Christmas tree farm to prove her worth as a business partner to her uncle is a perfect set up for this wonderful slow-burn romance.
Natalie doesn't believe in marriage or even long-term romantic relationships. She's more of a hit-it-and-quit-it kind of person. She hasn't had the best roll models in her parents (and a sister with her on again/off again relationship with a bad boy) and after a nearly catastrophic failure of her own, it's a reasonable position to have.
Enter Mason, who hasn't had the best of luck in love either, but he remains an eternal optimist. I love that for Natalie (and for us, the reader) because he doesn't give up on her easily despite her every attempt to discourage him. He quietly bides his time, making her comfortable and fed (my fav!) at his family's Christmas tree farm which he's running this year as a test by his father.
See? Messy family dynamics all over the place. Needless to say, the author does an amazing job with Natalie and Mason on getting them past all their family baggage and making them realize what's worth really pursuing, both in their careers and in love.
This is such a delightful love story with some steam that will be satisfying to any romance reader. Highly recommend!

Janine Amesta is the queen of slow burn. You’re so involved in the story and the characters that you don’t even realize you’ve already read half of the book and they haven’t even kissed yet. Her writing hooks you almost immediately and keeps you wanting more the whole way through.
The characters are deep and interesting and Amesta expertly defies expectations with both the characters and the plot. I had developed expectations while reading and was genuinely surprised (and pleased) by how the story ended.
I love the grumpy, jaded, prickly Natalie. Mason was the real star of the show for me. Described as someone with a dad bod who looks like he gives good hugs, Mason is unerringly optimistic. He wants to see the best in people, he wants to believe everything will work out. He radiates golden retriever energy and I love to see it.
A Poinsettia Paradise Christmas is a must-read this holiday season. This opposites attract, grumpy/sunshine, banter-filled romance is absolute perfection.

A Poinsettia Paradise Christmas (Love in El Dorado Book 2) is a Christmas “villain” story like you have never read before. By Janine Amesta, the Natalie Gonzalez-Torres and Mason Lavigne story is an addictive captivating read that looks closely at love. What it is, how does it look, and how long will it last. I loved both of these characters but also some of the others who gave them insight and perspective.
You don’t have to be a Grinch to understand where Natalie is coming from but you also don’t have t be a sunshine kind of person to understand Mason’s perspective either. What you will want with all your heart is for these two perspectives to mesh into something balanced and appreciated. So for a heart touching story that takes place at Christmas but could be enjoyed any time of the year, A Poinsettia Paradise Christmas is the book for you. Love this series.
An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Natalie and Mason's Story . . .
Natalie Gonzalez-Torres must have come from the Grinch side of the family. She doesn’t like Christmas, nor does she want any kind of romantic relationship. She just wants to prove herself capable of running the family business. Her uncle asks her to manage a coffee cart at Poinsettia Paradise tree farm where she meets Christmas tree farmer Mason Lavigne. Mason looks on the bright side and expects the best from others. This Christmas season he will prove himself to his father and show him he can run the business successfully.
When Natalie shows up, he makes the time to help her, even though he has his own burdens to manage. But he is patient with her, and kind. Will she begin to respond to him? Can he bring out her softer side? Will what they can help each other realize be part of their own growth and a better balance for both of them to achieve their goals, one of those goals being the move to becoming a couple?

I absolutely loved this!!
This is a new author to me and I am so happy I found her. I love her writing style and the way she wrote this book. I have read so many reverse grumpy/sunshine Christmas books this season and this is one totally stands out as one of the best.
The characters are very relatable and I fell in love with them. Natalie and Mason were complete opposites, but they played off each other so well. They were so cute and funny together. Mason was actually kind of awkward, but he was also charming and had such a witty sense of humor. Natalie was just straight up crabby and didn’t believe in love or relationships, but she just couldn’t resist Mason. Even though Mason was kind of awkward and sweet, there was also very strong chemistry and tension between them.
Natalie’s hot and cold act did get a little frustrating at times, but I still loved the way she evolved throughout this story. I loved the ending and it just left me wanting more of them.

A cute little holiday romance between a ":grinch" heroine who professes to hate Christmas and a soft-hearted hero who works on a Christmas tree farm, this couldn't be more Hallmark holiday if it tried, but with some sexy times thrown in. Natalie doesn't think love and relationships are for her - after all, she's had a front row seat to her parents' dysfunctional marriage all her life. Mason, the sweet guy she's forced to work with over the holiday season couldn't be further from the type of guys she normally prefers. For one thing, he loves the holidays and for another, he doesn't do casual. The journey to these two finding their way to each other is both sweet and poignant and tender. Really enjoyed this one.
Content Notes: toxic marriage between parents

Natalie is running the coffee shop in town when her uncle sends her to the Christmas tree farm with a coffee cart. She is not into Christmas at all, but hopes that doing this will help her become the manager for good. Mason runs his family Christmas tree farm and is totally into Christmas. Can these two work together without fighting? Will they fall in love while being in tight quarters for a few weeks? Can he change her mind about what love is like? Great characters and the storyline has plenty of drama, hidden feelings, entertaining situations, revelations, romance, fun banter, twists and some obstacles to overcome. Great ending and a welcome addition to the series.

ALL THE CHRISTMAS TREES IN THE FARM!
I LOVED this book. I'm not usually a holiday book reader, but heck if I didn't enjoy every moment of this!
Not unlike me, our heroine Natalie isn't really a Christmas person. When she meets Mason, a Christmas tree farmer with his head in the clouds, she thinks he's cute, but she has strict rules about dating and love. Basically, she doesn't do either.
Mason has had his heartbroken in the past and it flooded into all aspects of his life. When he meets Natalie, his eyes go starry again, even though he knows he shouldn't fall for someone quickly.
Janine Amesta did an amazing job building the relationship between these two and giving them both very understandable obstacles to overcome. Loved it!

All the holiday romcom vibes
Natalie is the grump who doesn't love Christmas, she's at a very critical time in her life trying to prove herself so her uncle will make her partner at the family Cafe.
Which leads her to working a coffee truck on a Christmas tree farm. Mason's (parents) Christmas tree farm.
From the start, these two are really cute, even with Natalie being a grump. Then, Mason starts a fake dating rumor to save Natalie from being bothered by Diva Santa. A kind of forced proximity, banter, tension charged friendship ensues while Natalie tries to guard her heart from making her parent's mistake.
It's cute and cozy with sweet Christmas vibes.
Would I recommend? Yeah
Spicy? Yes, but only a scene or two

I love a feel good Christmas story! This book is the second in a series, however, I have not read the first but I really didn't feel like it was a problem, you could read this without reading the first book.
I liked that it was based on two families, each dealing with the next generation taking over, proving they were able to handle the businesses and of course, the Grinch theme came into play. I really liked Mason, that he didn't quit after the hard time Natalie gives him. He sticks and brings Christmas back into her life.
Good book and I will be going back and reading the first one! Enjoy!

A slow burn, low heat romance.
Mason is a man who definitely not an alpha male. In fact, he is a marshmallow to the point of being a bot of a push over. His friends fear for his heart because he is too nice.
Natalie is his polar opposite. She is cynicism incarnate. It has been preached to her all her life that love doesn't last and she has taken that to heart. She is the villain in her story. Breaking hearts, using men and making no connections nor commitments.
Once Mason meets Natalie he is drawn to this prickly cactus and he gets under her skin. Natalie begins to see what her life was missing and tries to keep the optimism.

Flirting, fun, and fir trees. Oh, my! Janine Amesta’s A Poinsettia Paradise Christmas is the perfect compliment to a cup of peppermint cocoa. I cheered for Mason and Natalie as, together, they tackled the merriment of the season in this opposites-attract holiday romance with a twist. The supporting cast compliments the push and pull of their unconventional love story in a literal winter wonderland. ‘Tis the season to enjoy this festive read!

I thoroughly enjoyed the second book in the Love in El Dorado series! Natalie manages her uncle's coffee shop, but hopes to one day take it over. This cynical love and Christmas grinch crosses ways with a nerdy, Christmas tree farm manager with a dad bod, and sparks ignite! Their relationship has its ups and downs, and I was totally rooting for this couple to stay together and make their love official! When you add meddling family members, insecurities, and a smarmy Santa Stan to the mix, you have a really entertaining book! I can't wait to read book 3!

Mason and Natalie's story was brilliant! From the moment I began reading this book I was drawn into their story. They were opposites in so many things but there was definite chemistry between these two. Natalie does not believe in relationships. Mason sees her and he doesn't mind that he might have to bide his time. He will play the long game! No matter how Natalie discourages him he does not give up. Their story is a must read. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A Poinsettia Paradise Christmas is book 2 in the Love in El Dorado series by Janine Amesta, a new to me author.
What happens when opposites meet, there’s attraction and chemistry but both need to prove they are up for the challenge and the holiday is right around the corner…living by your own rules, family dynamics, push and pull, emotional, opening up your heart and more…
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book from Tule Publishing. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a really sweet Christmas romance primarily set at a Christmas tree farm. I’m a sucker for a good business story too and this one provides just that along with 2 well developed main characters. I also enjoyed all of the side characters and I look forward to going back and reading Book 1 in this series, Striking Gold. This was a really great way to start off my holiday reading season. Thank you Janine for the ARC. I’m excited that you’re continuing this series as well and can’t wait to read more.

A captivating story of love capturing a denying heart through the sweet interactions of a man with a hopeful heart. The walls built by a fear that love does not ever last are challenged by the pull of chemistry when Natalie meets Mason. Try as she might, he is a force to be reckoned with. Some very delightful and funny quips you do not want to miss. And some spice, too.

Janine writes the coziest of romances! I feel like I’m curled up in front of a fire with the fluffiest blanket while reading her stories.
I am so glad everyone’s favorite perfectionist busybody, Mia, made a reappearance. And she’s just as meddling and ready for a challenge as always. Gold star for you, Mia.
Natalie’s prickliness paired with Mason’s sweetness was such a treat. I love them both and I’m glad that Spoilers: they figured their stuff out. I can’t wait to start the next book.

I loved this slow burn romance between Christmas grinch Natalie who professes to hate Christmas, she’s more a Halloween girl, and eternal optimist Mason who refuses to give up on Natalie despite the attempts she makes to push him away. Fabulous secondary characters and the fab Christmas setting round out this unmissable story.

Natalie’s experience with love hasn’t been the greatest. Her parents fight all the time. Her ex lied to her and she has created a world where she goes on vacation for sex.
Mason’s experience isn’t the best. His parents love each other. His ex left him for another guy with money. He is open to love.
Who can resist coffee and Christmas? Natalie tries but can she resist the lovable, shy guy who shows her the true meaning of love.
I can relate with Natalie. We’ve all been hurt at some point and we are all looking for the one. This book will capture your heart and root for Natalie and Mason to fall in love! I really enjoyed reading the book and getting into the spirit of Christmas. It made me want to find a Christmas tree farm and smell the different kind of trees.
I received a complimentary arc for an honest review.

The holidays are always at and unexpected twist in this story has a couple with the characters that have some issues and things to prove. A budding romance throws a wrench in the story but makes for good reading.
