I like to write about discovering the true power hidden in pleasure and living with an open heart.

I love to travel, spending as much time as I can in Paris, London, New York, and Los Angeles.

I believe stories have the power to change hearts and lives. Love, eroticism, and sensuality provide the greatest inspiration for the heart. When we claim our pleasure, we activate our power and embolden our hearts to create lasting change in our lives and the world.

★★★★! London Lace, book 1-5 (complete series). Debut by Catou Martine. Enigmatic, bossy, mature and oh so sexy Sir Todd embarks on a no-strings-attached sexual affair that quickly becomes more complex.

This is a series consisting of 5 parts that combined make a 340 page read. I recommend reading as a set and thus I have reviewed as a set. Please note that the Omnibus has been released.

Hero: Sir Todd Montgomery/British/race horse breeder/aristocrat/40 years old approx./dark brown hair/blue eyes/6’1”
Heroine: Eliza Keating/British/Business owner (Candied Locks)-milliner/29 years old/dark brown hair/brown eyes

Story is told from Eliza’s POV (in 3rd person).

Eliza and Sir Todd are supposed to go on a blind date. Instead there first meeting is a disaster. After Eliza “tipsy calls” Todd in the middle of the night to tell him off he ends up stopping by for some hot sex. What starts off as great no-strings-attached sex quickly turns complicated. Todd’s and Eliza’s story ends up being bumpy one with anything from individual baggage to secrets, lies to vindictive exes and more. Add to that the tabloids trying to find a juicy story.

Sir Todd (well as it turns out Eliza is the only one allowed to call him Sir!) has many amazing qualities. At first glance is very handsome and sexy and he is great in bed; bossy and all about aiming to please. He is also enigmatic and brooding with darkness in his past. He is very mature, but above everything I love the way he always knows how to handle Eliza and he says the most profound and insightful things. And oh, did I mention he is Brit?!
“He was a volatile combination of stubbornness, anger, impulsiveness, and virile grace. He was a seducer, but he was also a loner. He was reaching out to her, but also wanted to keep her at bay, at a safe, controllable distance. He was conflicted. Intense. Sure of himself but less sure of her. She knew she should be cautious, that she could get hurt…”

Eliza is a “Rags to riches” story; coming from a poor upbringing and after making it as a milliner she has tried shut the door to her past. Career wise she has done really well for herself; she is strong determined and motivated. It’s evident early on that her unresolved past has plagued her relationships and they will play havoc on her and Sir Todd’s. Like so many heroines paired with great heroes, she managed to annoy me at times. This is very much her journey of self discovery and closure.
“Beauty and pain are real. Together they show us we are alive. You are beautiful, Eliza. Eventually, your pain will heal.” [Todd]

That said, for some reason I did not connect as well with Eliza as I might have wished. There was something about the 3rd person narrative that left me on the outside, wanting to connect better with her. I might have also wished to get Todd’s POV. I liked so many qualities in him, but I feel like I missed knowing him better.

The sex is off the charts:
“I want you to know that kind of pleasure from me first because I want you to know that your pleasure, from now on, will be the first thing I think about upon waking and the last thing I think about when I go to sleep, and in between I hope to be doing it more than thinking it.” He gave her that look again, a glowering sexy look of untamed hunger.”

And their sex becomes a bit explorative with them venturing out…

Catou Martine did a great job with Todd’s and Eliza’s story. Despite the drama and turmoil it ended up very much being a “feel good” read so I am recommending their story!

London Lace #2

It’s day 2 of knowing each other, and Eliza and Todd, spend some time going to the horse races and spending time away from their jobs & other obligations. But this just seems to make them even more insatiable.

They take the time to enjoy some of the Devon countryside and get quite a bit bold in their enjoyment with each other. And those scenes are erotic!

But being aristocracy, the paparazzi seem to be lurking in order to get the next big scoop. But sometimes their stories are inaccurate, or possibly, it’s how you find out that you have been replaced as a lover.

AHH, I hate writing reviews on short stories, its always really hard for me. I am really liking this short story series. There is really hot sex scenes and really good story line as well. In this installment Tod and Eliza go to the horse races and everything seems to be going really well. But after only a short time together, how well do you really know someone. I can't wait for the next installment. :)

Love these!

4.5* While these stories continue to be unedited, I can't make myself give less then that! They are funny, witty, hot, and great. I hope to see better editing but either way I will read the rest. Although this is their second date, Eliza and Sir Todd have a connection. But can that connection remain strong against distance and the gossip column? I'm going to go find out now!

This is the second installment in a 5-part novella series. It’s nice that there is bit of a story line working its way through all the hot sex scenes, as Todd still remains a bit of a mystery to Eliza. Unfortunately, things take an unexpected turn towards the end of their first date, and it leaves an opening for some juicy scandal, which finally adds some intrigue to the series. Now let’s see how far it goes.

Author Catou Martine does it to me again- Leaves me wanting more yet fills 55 pages with hot steamy sex, lust & love. I can't help but fall in love with Eliza and Todd but there's something more that meets the eye and of course nothing can go smoothly. Each of their pasts keep coming up and haunting them. I can't wait for the next and final installment.

This is the second part of the series and it did not disappoint! I was on the edge of my seat with each steamy scene and the love story between Eliza and Todd. I was rooting for them throughout and was very upset after certain developments in the story. However, I was intrigued by the ending and can not wait to read the next part of the series to find out what happens next!

I'm starting to love this series!
Things are getting really interesting between Eliza and Todd as we learn little more about Todd. There are a lot of fun and steamy moments between these two. Can't wait to read the next story!

Please note this is just my opinion as a reader.
I enjoyed the story. I like the characters a lot. I would have enjoyed the story more if it had been edited better by a third party. If edited better then I would rate it higher.

So she's madly in love with him in this installment. I think him taking her to the race tracks is their first date. But we can't have a date without a lot of meaningless sex. I understand infatuation, I understand crushing on a guy, but this instant love is becoming very annoying.

Although the beginning of this short story seemed slow the end was intriguing and added more questions than answers to this tale. Eliza and Todd's story is short but it is definitely hot.

Bought this book while it was free on Amazon, I personally didn't find it as good as the first book but it was ok if you have to fill up a hour.
