Diane Capri delivers a strong story with the latest Michael Flint thriller. Adding a little crossover from her popular Hunt for Jack Reacher series, Capri presents a tale with a quick pace and great plot. Michael Flint is tasked with finding a man thought dead and missing over the past few years. While he has a great success rate, Flint may have met his match. Capri offers up a great additional to this collection.

The Lyman family have a curse hovering over them. None of the heirs to the family fortune have made it to the age of thirty. Ward Lyman was the last heir and is said to have died in an underwater explosion. However, his grandfather is not convinced.

Turning to Michael Flint, Spencer Lyman hopes to get answers to see if a premonition he had could be true. Ward might be alive, though there is no clear evidence of this. Flint has an immaculate record when it comes to finding people and he is ready to take the plunge. Working leads, Flint learns that the elder Lyman once ran with the mob, but chose to go clean and keep things legitimate. This might be one reason his grandson was apparently killed in an underwater explosion.

As Flint works the case harder, relying on Carlos Gaspard to provide some strong research, new truths come to light. However, the more Flint learns, the more those who still serve the Family want to fix what they might have missed. Soon, Flint and the Lyman family could be dual targets and things might get bloody. Capri delivers a great piece that fits nicely with the larger series.

I have long enjoyed the work of Diane Capri, as they are usually filled with a great deal of action that does not dilute a great story. Working with a strong narrative base, Capri builds things from there and keeps things clipping along as the truth comes to light. Peppering in some humour and varied locations, Capri allows her characters to grow as the story progresses. There is little time to wonder, with plot twists emerging and keeping the reader on edge. I enjoyed the story and can see this series humming along for the foreseeable future.

Kudos, Madam Capri, for delivering once more!

Hardly Worth it - more like it!

The sort of book you pick up at an airport and throw away when you reach your destination. A very very average crime story. Improbable scenarios to keep the story flowing.

There wasn't much I enjoyed about this book at all. In fact, the more I think about it, the less I like about it.

The first 40 pages were entirely irrelevant to the the rest of the story, and I'm trying to work out why they were included.

I didn't find the story very interesting, the characters were wooden and not particularly endearingm and the writing was average at best.

The mana character seemed invincible and irrespective of how many enemies he faced, he had so much main character armour, nothing was going to stop him.

I'm very disappointed considering how strong reviews were. The worst book I'll read this year I think. Don't waste your time, it's sub standard at best.

This was one of the better Flint books in series. Flint really deleved deep into the curse conspiracy. Old Gasper did his usual part
But in the end Wade proved to be alive preserving Trumans legacy. 10 stars 🌟 plus!!!! Thanks Carl Clause

Hard Money review

Good read. Flynn was super as always. But the ending seemed contrived and maybe a little too pat after all the chasing around to find the “dead” heir.

eBook Review – Hard Money – Diane Capri
Although author Diane Capri’s Jack Reacher spinoff novels are good, her Michael Flint thrillers are even better in my humble opinion. “Hard Money,” book four in the series is a well-written, gripping, and absorbing crime thriller.
Main character Michael Flint, the heir hunter, returns in this tale to track and find an heir to a crime syndicate that vanished two years ago after an underwater explosion, which his body was never found.

The syndicate’s billionaire grandfather hires Flint to find his grandson and uncover the truth about his disappearance before those seeking to destroy the criminal empire finish what they started.
Capri pens another action-filled thriller with page-turning subplots and well fleshed-out and intriguing characters.
Hard Money is a riveting mystery adventure by a wonderful writer. I thoroughly enjoyed it – especially the scene in my hometown of Kansas City.

This is a good read!

I’m so happy for a new release is this series. Michael Flint is such a fascinating character. Spencer Lyman has built a large empire in the concrete business. There is rumored to have a curse on the family, with four of his heirs dying at a young age. His last heir Ward has been declared dead, but Spencer doesn’t accept it as the body was never found. He hires Michael to find his grandson either dead or alive. The fast pace and near misses of this story kept me reading in one sitting. The characters are very well developed. It could be read as a stand-alone, but I guarantee you will want to read the whole series.

Another 5-star story by Diane Capri

What a story! A grandson is missing, years ago presumed dead in a submersible implosion. His grandfather wants him found and will inherit his mega-million dollar enterprise...but only if he can be found. Flint is hired and is determined to find the young man either alive or dead. An action packed, fast-paced story all mystery readers are bound to enjoy. I'm already looking forward to the next book featuring Michael Flint.

Michael Flint gets the most interesting cases to solve. First he is helping the widow of a Las Vegas casino retrieve her money from a crooked partner, then he is hired by a Kansas City multi millionaire who believes his grandson didn't die in an accident two years ago. Turns out the grandson is alive, but was being held prisoner by a mob boss who has his own reasons for the kidnapping. Once the grandson escapes the race is on.

I'm surprised this book received such stellar ratings.
The main plot is contrived and the secondary plot adds absolutely nothing to the story. There are so many unbelievable chase scenes and fight scenes that at one point I was laughing out loud at the level of absurdity.
I purchased the audiobook. While the narrator performed admirably, I found my mind wandering too often because the story was so boring.
Hard pass.

"Hard Money" by Diane Capri is an exceptional tale. Michael Flint is asked by billionaire Spencer Lyman to find his grand son Ward. Spencer heads a huge concrete company which a rival, mob boss Boldo, covets. Ward is believed to have died in a submarine implosion a few years past but his body was never recovered. The crime family tries to discourage Flint by eliminating all witnesses & find Ward first. Parallel to this tale, Kate Scarlet, looks into the execution of a serial murderer as it might have ties to Flint's mother. Endless action & intrigue. Enjoy 5 stars.

What do a hundred million dollars hiding in a vault in Vegas, a mob-style execution in Kansas City, and surprising clues to what happened to Flint's late mother have to do with each other? Get ready for a wild ride!
The whole team is here and at their prime. Michael Flint, the heir-hunter; Katie Scarlett, the beautiful and capable owner of the agency; Alonzo Drake, master of all things transportation and tactical; even Carlos Gaspar, and a surprise appearance of...well, you may have to wait to see. They're joined by a small bevy of intriguing and dangerous characters...some of whom may live to see how things transpire.
Diane's forte is bringing her characters to life and moving their storyline along with each installment. You become invested in them, feel for them, and sometimes fear for them. Flint is fascinating and eminently able to handle the intellectual demands of his calling while performing the demanding physical and combative requirements. He's the focus, but Capri surrounds him with well-fleshed-out and engaging characters.
Don't miss the excellent plot, subplots, and ongoing storylines. They make Hard Money another excellent stand-alone read while advancing the Capri universe, another action-filled step forward.

Never a dull moment in this next incredible adventure in the Michael Flint business. Michael Flint specializes in recovery. Of both people and things. From the first paragraph, Flint is under fire. Flint is a specialist. He doesn't doesn’t do recovery just through reviewing dusty tomes and interviews. He and his friend and backup, Alonzo Drake, go after the prize they are contracted to find - in this case, the missing grandson, Ward Lyman, of an elderly billionaire, with both brains and firepower. As Flint and Drake become more and more immersed in their quest, they are pulled in multiple directions at the same time. Clues are building up but who has time to assemble these pieces when dodging assassins, being stabbed in the back by supposed friends, and chasing around with false leads. Time to find Ward and put an end to this soon. The clues mount, and when their computer genius, Carlos Gaspar, jumps in to help, clues start to come together, uncovering even another nefarious plot against Ward and his grandfather. Another excellent mystery with plenty of twists and turns to keep your mind spinning with what, how, who and why. Really looking forward to the next Michael Flint mystery from this terrific author.

Michael Flint, the heir-finder, is back in another riveting adventure. The action starts in Vegas, where Flint wraps up a client's case involving the Mob and a casino fortune. His adept work earns him a referral to his next heir hunt client. Spencer Lyman engages Hunt to find his grandson, believed to be dead two years ago. Or is he? Flint is supported by a competent and resourceful team, as the twists and turns in this exciting adventure start to unravel what really transpired. Non-stop action to the last page!

An excellent, action-filled, page-turning hunt, intertwined with interesting subplots.

Reads well either as a standalone and a wonderful addition to the Flint series.

Riveting Story Line for the newest Flint adventure

I just love starting a new episode in the lives of Diane's characters. I know with her skill, the story line will be exciting, complex, unexpected and fulfilling. She reshapes your day, changing your schedule so you can continue reading. Never fails... Great to have familiar characters supporting the story line as she teases the reader with new possibilities. Hard Money is a typical episode in Flint's life with Katie Scarlett supporting him, and other familiar characters helping. As always, enjoyable for the reader as Mike jumps into and out of the fire and succeeds. Looking forward to Dead Lock!!
