The transition from bootstrapping entrepreneur to effective leader is arduous, and very few can make the transition. This is what Grow was written to do—assist in that transformation.
Grow , is focused on taking a business from the first day of cash flow to sustainability. It shows readers how to build their organization into one with
• an environment that expects people to thrive, • a leader who meets the organization where it needs to be met, and • trust as a baseline for all relationships.
The path set forth for readers in Grow will not only give business owners many options, but it will also put them in an incredibly strong position to cash out, if and when they decide to choose that option. This book was written to help readers reach the promised land of sustainability in their businesses.
Mike McFall is the NextGen-CEO. He doesn’t have a yacht or a podcast, or an MBA. He is, however, the founder of Global Orange Development and the Co-Founder/Co-CEO of Biggby Coffee, a fast-growing $100-million-dollar coffee franchise with 250+ locations across the Midwest.
Now, Mike is writing a series of four books about starting and growing a business. The title of the first book in that series — Grind — is a fittingly workmanlike pun that encompasses both his caffeinated commerce and his diligent, level-headed approach to building a business.
"Grow" is a valuable resource for entrepreneurs looking to transition from being a bootstrapping entrepreneur to becoming an effective leader. The book offers insights and guidance on creating an environment where people can thrive, developing leadership skills that meet the organization's needs, and establishing trust as a foundation for relationships.
"Grow" also focuses on taking a business from its early stages of cash flow to a sustainable and successful state. By providing a path that offers various options and strategies, the book empowers business owners to not only achieve sustainability but also positions them strongly for potential future growth or even the option to cash out.
Overall, "Grow" is a practical and insightful guide for entrepreneurs who are navigating the challenges of leadership and sustainable business growth. It addresses essential aspects of leadership, organizational development, and building strong relationships within the business context.
I received this book as part of a Goodreads giveaway. This book should be required reading for anyone in a leadership role. It addresses so many topics relating to leadership and creating an appropriate environment for the work to get done.
One of many great quotes in this book: "People’s reality is their truth. But because it is their truth does not mean it is the truth. We as leaders have to fight our prejudice and our pretending that our truth is the truth."
If you are in a leadership role of any kind, or aspire to be, do yourself a favor and pick up this book.

This was a good book. I am an employee and it gave me interesting insight. I wish the organization I worked for would have their management read this book.
🖋️ I gave this book away to our HOA library. I abandoned it because of the vulgar language. ♦️ I received a Kindle eBook copy via the Goodreads Giveaway Program. Thank you to the author. 😀 🗑 Conversely, other readers may like this type of writing.
