Four hundred years ago, my life was destroyed. Everything I knew and loved was obliterated as my powers surged for the first time. My family, my home and my life were taken from me, in flames. I was transformed against my will into an abomination, a dizzien of hell to forever walk the night, a vampire. For four hundred years I've walked this earth, the painful screams of my family a constant reminder of the monster I am. I've never known love, or the gentle touch of a man. The only respite from the agony of my existence was the three hundred years spent with Stephan. Although, once She came, I was again tossed aside, shunned and ignored. Never again! I'm done with being condemned, suffering for the consequences of something I didn't know I was capable of. It's time I lived. My name is Victoria, and this is my story.

This book is very dark, and I was shocked by the violence at times, but I could not stop reading it. The story is amazing, and I had to find out what was going to happen next. This story grabbed me and would not let go. I really got attached to Victoria. She lost so much, but despite the terrible abuse she suffered, her spirit remained strong. Jean Booth put an original spin on this story that stuck with me long after I finished it. I cannot wait to read the next one.

I read through the night finishing it this morning at 3 am. I do not want to like the book because it was not continuing with the story line of Tash and Raif and/or Stephan as I had expected. However, it continued with Victoria as the mc and how she came into being.

It was hard, dark and difficult for Victoria had to endure over 80 years of abuse and hardship. Only towards the end did Stephan came and save the day. Would had preferred it if she saved herself but after such a long time under such abusing environment I doubt that would be feasible. The ending would be more convincing if more were written about how Stephan came about to "save" Victoria, passing reference of Supay/Mneseus sending Stephan a "present" but no details were given.

Overall a good read, tried to put it down numerous time but unable to do so. A bit slow going at times but the story just stick in your head and will not let go.

For just one moment in time all the world was right young Tori had it all. She was the beloved of her village and blessed by the gods. Her future husband was kind and gentle and perfect for her. She was the ones child that all the village would give their life to protect for she was to return them to their rightful place. With just a month before her wedding night Great Evil came to her village and claimed her as his mate. Her world was turned upset down in a matter of minutes and this naive girl would spend the next 100 plus years learning that everything she thought was truth! Wasn’t.! Consumed is book 3 in the Origins series by Jean Booth and takes us deep into the history of what most would thought of as a side character.
Here are a couple great quotes from the book:
“Throughout the seventeen springs of my life, Jacob, my betrothed, grew up with me.
He learned the ways of our tribe and I learned the ways of his, to make the connection of
our battling tribes smoother. Our tribes had a history of warring; with our joining, the
fighting would end. We'd finally know peace.”
"Miña lume, you'll soon learn to overcome pain; to use it to your advantage. There's
loss all around you, all the time. You'll have lessons and become a stronger woman for
it."
"Do not bargain with the fates as you may receive exactly what you ask."

In the 1st two books I never cared for this character there was very little interaction with her and for the most part I thought of her as stuck up and snobby. A girl who given far more than she earned, and didn’t even appreciate her gift. At the end of book 2 I was shocked to see that is more that she loved her Master than anything and did not deal with well with competion. With this book I gained so much insight in how this poor girl was treated for over 80 years and the way she had to lock he emotions away just to keep a small part of her alive in the real sense of the word. What this girl went though is heartbreaking and all the more so because the man she you know she already loves doesn’t love her back. At the ripe age of 462 she has lived a long time and has a lot to look back on. Now I understand her distain and behavior and weep for her. Well this book continues the storyline it gives a new point of view and major character knowledge on the character most were likely to over look. I am so happy with this book and cannot wait to finish her journey in book 4. Jean has given me another 5 out of 5 for she has a great style and I found myself lost in the book and struggle of the character.

This is the third book in the Origins series and once again, Jean Booth does not disappoint. She gives us another amazing read. I was expecting it to be about the other main characters that were in the other 2 books; but she made the story of one of the lesser characters come alive. This book, as with the others, is full of emotions, as I was pulled into the story. I couldn’t put the book down, it was so intense. I read it through all at once; just took me a few hours. Jean Booth is at the top of my favorite authors list and I can’t wait to read more by her. This book gets a rating of 5 ***** all the way around.

Good book. I felt bad for Veronica. She went so many years being abused and mistreated. I found the ending moving and made me cry so hard. I was hoping we would be able to find more out about what happens to Tash and Stephen but was okay with getting some back story on Veronica too. This book is an emotional rollecoster. I find myself feeling like I am betraying Tash by liking Veronica and understanding the love she had for Stephen. I gave the book 4 out of 5 stars because I wished it had more Tash and Stephen.

I was given this book as a gift from the author. What a great book!!! Though very violent at times, it show why Victoria is the way she is and how protective she is with Stephan. She went from being an innocent to being physically and mentally abused by someone she considered the devil and turned into a vampire. It was great delving into a minor character in the previous book and learning the trials and tribulations she lived and died through. Another great book from Jean Booth!!! Thanks Jean!!!

I couldn't put this book down! Holy crap, the pain and the darkness of this book was like watching a horrible car accident; as much as you want to look away, you can't! Absolutely fabulous and I can't wait to see how you connect this to the first two. So Great!
