When Yasmine Cardoza loses her family in a tragic accident, she becomes trapped by grief, and life seems pointless. She is forever tormented—tormented by memories and haunted by dreams. Her overwhelming sense of guilt prevents her from living a happy life. She doesn’t allow herself to feel joy, laughter, or intimacy—and never becomes emotionally attached for fear of losing yet another person she loves. Confined on all sides by memories, anger, and guilt, she loses focus on relationships of any kind.
When Yasmine comes face to face with Drake Steele—renowned playboy of the club scene—she’s instantly attracted to him. He has the most brilliant sapphire eyes she’s ever seen, and they call to her.
Drake Steele is rocked by the beautiful Yasmine. He is intrigued by her demeanor and enamored by her determination to deny the chemistry between them. He boldly pursues her even though she rebuffs him at every turn. He is determined to break through her sadness and find love with her.
Will Yasmine finally come to terms with her loss and allow herself to live and love again? Can Drake break through her defenses and bring joy back into her life? Or will they head down a path that will forever torment them both?

“I’ve just been kissed by an angel,”
“You have absolutely no idea what that little kiss meant to me. That small whisper of a kiss spoke volumes to me. It meant something to me because you bestowed it upon me.”
“Please don’t shut me out, Red. I know my declaration that I’m starting to have feelings for you is terrifying to say the least. But it’s unavoidable. The more time I spend with you, the more those feelings grow. You’re by far the sweetest and most beautiful woman that I’ve ever had the pleasure of spending time with. I don’t want it to end,”
“Red, my sweet girl, you don’t have to be terrified of me. I could never hurt you. We’ll take this slow if that’s what you want. We won’t do anything that’ll make you uncomfortable. I know you’re terrified. I’m terrified to. I haven’t had the desire to get involved with anyone. I’ve been on my own for a very long time. These feelings we have for each other feels right. It may be the best thing that may happen to us. Give us a chance, Red,”
I loved Drake in the beginning so sweet, romantic, hot alpha male..... The I dislike him for a little bit . When he finally came to his senses I love him all over again.

Holy shit!!! I freakin loved this book. I started reading it and before I knew it I had read half of the book within an hour. TORMENTED is one of the best books I have read this year! This author has the ability to suck you in and keep you hanging on her every word. Yasmine lost her entire family in a horrible car accident and has shut herself down to feeling anything but the grief that consumes her. Her best friend Lacey has watched her suffer for 4 long years and decides that Yasmine has grieved long enough. She talks her into going out and live it up a little.
"I know you prefer to stay home to hide away from life. But it's not good to keep avoiding any opportunities to make friends or fall in love. You need to finally come to terms with that tragic accident."
While out at a night club she comes face to face with the hottest guy she has ever had the pleasure of viewing. Drake is the owner of the night club and he is taken with her right away as well. Being attracted to him was an emotion that terrified her and she was not ready to start a relationship with the possibility of getting hurt. Drake, on the other hand was not going to let her deter him from going after what he wants. Yes, I have a new book boyfriend and his name is Drake. Swoon. He is so yummy!
"This small slip of a girl has left me yearning for things I've never envisioned wanting before. A relationship with one women. Her to be exact and I'm not going to back down no matter how much she tries to push me away."
The heat between theses two characters burnt up the pages. WOW. I know I will never look at chocolate mousse quite the same way again.
"I love the way your body responds to my touch. It makes me fucking burn for you. There are so many things I want to do with your body...for your body."
(Fanning myself right now, Whewww) Will Jasmine let him break down her defenses or will she stay in her cocoon of misery? You will have to read it and find out for yourself. Amazing debut novel by Mia Natal. I can't wait to see what she has for us next.
I’ve had the pleasure of beta-reading this novel and it was a great story. In the current climate of billionaire dominants, virginal twenty-somethings and drama around every corner, this book was a refreshing read.
Yasmine has endured a horrific tragedy, losing her family on the day of her college graduation. On the brink of entering adult life, she was thrown into it alone. For four years she has blocked out the world, until she meets Drake, and her walls slowly start to come down.
Drake has built his own playboy persona too, to help him deal with his own past, and just as he is determined to break through to Yasmine, his own façade begins to crumble.
Can Yasmine let herself love, and be loved again, and can Drake reconcile his feelings for another woman over his own fears of rejection?
Whilst the torment that Yasmine feels is central in the book, it was interesting to see the torments of other characters unfold as well. Not everyone carries a burden like Yasmine, but she comes to see the pain of others too.
It is said that the course of love never runs smoothly, but the flow of this story, with two people finding their place in each other’s worlds makes you want to keep reading to the very end.

I did not like "Tormented" at all. Even though I could understand a lot of the emotional trauma and baggage that comes with the loss of an entire family and feeling like it's your fault, I could not get myself to fully sympathize with Yasmine at times.
I felt that Yasmine was a coward and would often frustrate me. I, too, have dealt with a tragic loss this year and have not let it bring me down. Yeah, I get that she lost her ENTIRE FAMILY while I just my little brother BUT I do not let it dictate my everyday life to which I'm a catatonic robot! I get sad, of course, that's a given but I know at the end of the day that I need to carry on since that person [who happens to be my little bro] would not like me in that state AND life goes on whether you want it to or not.
Aside from my ranting, Yasmine's best friend Lacey and love interest Drake are gems. I liked them. Especially Lacey. Lacey would tell Yasmine off when she needed to and was a true friend through like and thin. You don't come across those often in life.
Great book i wanna say first :) It is a lovestory with erotica(so i definetly say please only read it if u are an adult, cos those scenes are very detailed) I never was into reading erotica especially when its is so detailed but in this book i just loved it, i so often had to think about me nd my fiancee while reading this book, the struggling of the woman and the jealousy, the guy who was a player but totally change after he met her..the fears she had that he hasnt changed. I enjoyed rading it and even though it has only 98 pages i was feeling fullfilled so to speak because the story had everything it needed. Another prove that i am right when i say it shouldnt be about the amount of words or pages :) I totally felt with the woman, i felt like i am her and she is me, she suffered since 4 years because her family died i na car accident and then she meets HIM, Drake and everything changes and just when she thinks everything will be okay it turns out to get complicated.......the end? i wont tell u about it, just read it! .)
It's an okay read. It supposed to be an emotional book but for some reason it didn't grabbed me. AT ALL. I finished it though.. so I'm giving this 3 stars!
