Argues that successful corporations of the future must become insiders in the economies of Europe, Japan, and the United States, and describes the advantages of international joint ventures
a Japanese organizational theorist, management consultant, Former Professor and Dean of UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, and author, known for developing the 3C's Model
A very influential book at the time that introduced the concept of the 'triad' of the EU, U.S., and Japan and suggested the need for global presence of MNC's in all three areas. Because of different technologies in each area and the need to gain economies of scale, firms need to be seen as almost 'local' firms in each area. Would be interest to see how his thoughts changed, for example by the time of 'the end of the nation state' ten years later, the author seemed to see a much more globalised world.
