I Remember...: Memories of Growing Up

Rate this book
A lighthearted, humorous, and sentimental collection of 37 of the author's childhood memories.

Though it's recommended for ages 8 - 12, parents may enjoy this book just as much as kids. In fact, they may even enjoy it more. Falling out of bed, playing with friends in the summer, eating school lunches, making spook houses, spending time with family, and watching cartoons are all things most people will be able to relate to. Kids will chuckle through the book as they see things similar in their life right now, while parents will be brought back to the days of their own childhood. Among other uses, "I Remember..." is a perfect book for gift giving or to put on the back of the toilet!

Bought this from the author at Festival this year, and he added an illustration and dedication to my son Will.

Author first tells whimsical stories from his childhood, each one illustrated with child-like drawing at the top of the page. As an end note, Kammeraad explains his creative process.

A mix of nostalgia and the unapologetic viewpoint of an active young boy. Very fun.

Adore these quick little poems by one of my favorite children's poets! The author said they came out of reading his childhood journals. I love to share that fact with my students.
