oh boy this will be a long review , i can feel it .
first of all , i saw this book on author's instagram account and it really intrigued me , so i started it . the beginning was pretty classic ; random girl and guy accidently move in together , forced proximity and other things . i mean i didn't complained it but like i said , it didn't give me anything new . and before i forget , i'm sucker for reverse grumpy sunshine trope ,so the cliche in the beginning didn't bother me at all . i just have to say , in some parts when the murder case was being explained , i didn't understand the things that's happening , it was so confusing . i said it's okay if i don't understand , i'm sure the author will explain all of it again and she did really , but in the end . therefore i was really confused about somethings through the whole book .
reading little girlfriend boyfriend things always make me so giddy and happy. so, when they go the ice skating or do basic things like eating a lunch together or marcelo's going to the coffee shop just for alora touched my heart so much that i was smiling all the time while reading this book. and i just want to congratulate the author for writing such characters for their individual development and feelings. believe when i say i cried almost every time when alora telling her story and it is not about the horrific things she goes through, it is about the writing style, the reality of it. really, i applaud the author for writing these perfect scenes.
and after so much appraise, let's talk about something that i didn't like . actually disliking is a light word for what i'm feeling. i'm feeling bothered , annoyed and frustrated. why you ask ? fade to black scenes . oh boy , every time i got hype when they are all hot and bothered from all these kissing , i was like okay it is coming i'm so ready for this and i'm sure i will like a lot . because the kissing scenes and other intimate scenes were so perfectly written that i thought sex scenes were going to be like nirvana for me . yeah , i was that hyped . and guess what boys , there is no sex scene , almost , there are only the beginnings of them and then hoop , other chapter . i always believe that intimate scenes are the actual things that what make a relationship special ,real , you know ? and although the book was okay for me to read as the way it is , i would've die from the love for this book if it would contain the whole scene , not just the beginning . i felt like a man who was kicked out of her girlfriend's house after putting on a condom thinking they were going to have sex .(it is childish i know , but i was really frustrated you know , it wasn't just a one time either , every time they do something intimate , something disturbed and stopped them .why???)
and finally the ending , the book came over all the problems and i was finally at 90% of the book . the courtroom scenes were perfect . i finally understood the willow case and i said yes that was the final bump in the plot and after this everything will go perfectly smooth . but i was wrong , again . i don't know why the author thought it was a good idea to kill both of side characters but i wasn't pleased with that part of the story at all. i mean it happened at the 97% of the book and there was no reason for author to add another big event like death of characters. if it hadn't happened, the book would have ended perfectly for me . and i didn't understand why they have to move out from their actual house that contains all their memories . i guess i'm just dumb .
will all that being said , i can say that i love this book . there were things that i didn't like and wanted to change , yes . but in the end i can guarantee that this story will hold a special place in my heart . thanks again for writing alora and marcelo , dear author . ( i hope you will see my review)
end of the review , take care guys .
