Fennec

La vita può essere piuttosto dura nell'Africa subtropicale. Soprattutto se si è soltanto un giovane fennec (nome scientifico vulpis zerda), la volpe del deserto dalle grandi orecchie nemica delle uova di serpente e amica di chiunque non tenti di divorarsela. Ma quando non si supera 1 kg e mezzo di peso per 40 cm di lunghezza (coda esclusa), è facile trovare qualcuno a cui venga in mente di provarci, e si rischia di continuo di lasciarci la pelle. A meno di non essere molto furbi, naturalmente. Furbi come un Fennec.

Lewis lives in the South of France with his wife, Brigitte Findakly, and two children.

Storia veloce, con un'impostazione a strisce, ma con continuity. Narra la ricerca, da parte di un fennec, dell'arma capace di liberarlo dai serpenti, suoi predatori. Il fennec è carino, buffo, fa ridere ma non è per niente buono.Il racconto è tutto giocato sull'equilibrio fra una struttura apparentemente per bambini e una sostanza che ha elementi molto meno bambinenschi. Il risultato, grazie all'esperienza di Trondheim, è divertentissimo. I disegni sono molto belli e adatti all'atmosfera della storia. Il formichiere è bellissimo.
