Rhinos who play baseball crack dingers out of the park. They throw heat from the hill and rip grass-cutting grounders across the field. But in the bottom of the ninth, it's any team's game. From practice to game time, this book is loaded with team spirit and ballpark lingo. And the dynamic illustrations and glossary of "Catch Phrases" hit a grand slam. A tribute to America's favorite pastime, Rhinos Who Play Baseball will win over rookies and pros alike.
My son (2 yoa) and I picked out this book from our local library yesterday. What a fun read! I enjoyed the illustrations, how the words are typed, and the phrasing of the story. (I read it in my best baseball announcer voice!) I am a huge baseball fan and loved teaching my son the various things about baseball that were depicted in the artwork.
My baseball loving son really enjoyed the pictures. It was a little difficult for him to follow along since there is little differences between the actually story and the secondary words on the page. There is also a glossary at the back of the book which is nice.
I'd give it 4 stars but Emerson got up and walked away during this story so I think he'd give it a 1. These rhinos play baseball, and the young reader is educated about all the different terminology of the game.
