I've been a fan of Eric S. Brown for years despite not reading a lot of his work. I liked Brown from audio interviews and the kind of stories he produced. I fell for Brown as an author way back when he was writing zombie and comic hero stories. I loved the short story The Queen. It was so different than any other zombie story I had read, yet still very much a zombie story.

Lately, I've been hearing buzz about Brown's Bigfoot series. This was my chance to dip my big toe in the pool of Sasquatch. The water was warm, blood warm.

Bigfoot War: Frontier is action packed. Think of an unstoppable hairy Juggernaut roaring its lungs out as it comes barreling toward you as you lose all control of your bodily functions. It's like that and more. Eric S. Brown does great story and character development in such a short amount of time. Did I mention the action? Holy smokes, there is a lot of action and carnage from the Bigfoot clan. It is intense and very much like a zombie horde, no one is safe in this story.

I highly recommend this story and this author.

A group of American settlers are travelling in their wagons to what they hope will be a new life but there is a disagreement over whether or not to take the mountain pass which is known to have hostile native tribes living there. The leader of the group decides to push on as it is the quicker route in spite of the danger but what he doesn't know is that there is something much more dangerous living in the area and these Sasquatches don't like humans coming into their territory.

I don't often read these western/frontier setting books but when it has rampaging Sasquatches I'm happy to give it a try! We follow the group on their journey as they come into enemy territory. The scouts that have been sent out have not returned to them and everyone is sure that the native tribe has killed them. When a woman from the tribe comes to warn them about what lives in the area, reactions to her story are somewhat mixed. She has decided that her best chance to leave her tribe behind is to join the group but trouble is about to hit them in a very hairy manner...

This was another enjoyable Sasquatch romp as the hairy beasts take exception to humans coming into their territory. It has the same blood and gore setting as previous books but I liked seeing how people without access to automatic weapons would fare in this situation. Another fun read!

Short story but all action

This is the first story I've read by E S Brown going by the reviews from his other works,its only a short story but it rattles along at a cracking pace. I got to the end in no time only left with wanting more...great idea setting the story in the wild west,would love to see a full length novel with this type of setting by this author. If you like easy to read action and gore this is recomended
