I read this to get a sense of the magazine's history. It was OK. The style isn't to my liking - he really likes to let you know he is A WRITER DAMNIT! - and the structure - thematic chapters - often had the chronological elements suffering. Much of the book is about office politics and personal enmity so it was occasionally tough to remember who was irked at who during certain parts of the story. But I really felt like I knew the people he was writing about so points for well-sketched bio details.
