I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. I joined the Air Force, and my career took me from coast to coast before depositing me in the St. Louis, Missouri area for several years. After a tour in Korea and a short return to the St. Louis area, I retired and moved to the greater Denver, Colorado metropolitan area.
I write speculative fiction, mostly science fiction and fantasy. My favorite writers over the years have been Robert E. Howard, Philip K. Dick, Roger Zelazny, and Michael Crichton.

Very different take on a military space opera, lots and lots going on, so many storylines. It was all bit confusing and difficult too warm to any character. I will have to recover before thinking about taking on the next in the series.

Next book

Well written with good character development. Each chapter seems to be a different part of the story. I am still going to find the next book and hope it starts tying everything together. Could potentially been several books. It was a good read.

Vaguely unsettling

Which of the main characters dies, and where, when and how? How goes the war? Can the allies be trusted? What happens next?

I don't like a book with multiple storylines, and this one has probably the most I have ever read. I could not keep up with the different characters in each storyline, and what was happening. Several primary characters appear to die in the storyline by the end of the book, except one of the first that I thought died didn't at the end of the book, but was in an impossible situation. When I went to purchase the second book at Amazon, I couldn't find it listed, so will read something else while I think it over and decide how much I may or may not want to tackle another book with so complex storylines.

A very confusing story. Each chapter is built on a different character of which there are ten or more. Lots of things build, but no real resolution to many - next book I guess. Very hard to keep all the characters in your head, especially if like me you only get occasional times to read throughout the week, you’re first job with a new chapter is to remind yourself where you are with that character. Parts of it are Good, parts pretty ordinary so only 3/5.

Cast of thousands

This novel has too many characters. And some of them appear to be irrelevant. Some are used to fill in the back story, but I cannot help wondering why they were introduced just o be killed off. There are a lot of books in this series and I don’t think it is worth my time.

Alien machines and technology.

Large fast and versatile alien war machines and structures that can rebuild themselves when damaged are some of the challenges facing human spacefarers.

Too broken up

Every chapter for the first 10 chapters is a different character and story. I quit at that point . its obvious the author doesn't know how to tell a story. Just horrible.

A real barn burner!

Full of intrigue with multiple concurrent story lines, all pointing to convergence in something monsterous above it all, insidious, alien, evil, and terrifying. Hard to put down.
