I have long heard of the massacre of Glencoe, but did not know how or why it was done. Shawn Lamb does a wonderful job of introducing clan traditions and justice in this book. The traditions and mores of the Highland MacDonalds of Glencoe are made quite understandable to the casual historic reader like myself. Beyond telling the story of Glencoe, a lovely romance brings the reader into the lives of the clan. Spiritually I have come to expect insights into the human heart and the heart of God from this author. She does not disappoint! This is the 2nd book I have read by this author and I will seek others. I am a fan!
A tale of intrigue and treachery recounting the massacre of Glencoe and the infighting between the Scottish clans and the deception of the Irish. Woven together with the plaid of love between an English lass and the strident song of a bard, culminating in an impossible feat of forgiveness that sheds a glimmer of hope to a mournful saga.
