Bengal Splice is a wonderful addition to this series! These misunderstood science experiments (men and animal dna spliced together to make the perfect killing machine) are trying to make a life for themselves. They have endured such hardships that you root for them to succeed. I so enjoy how their animal instincts affect their behavior. It makes you fall so in love with each and every character. The human women are surprisingly written at little weaker than I like but it gives them room to grow. Acceptance and dignity are woven into this story making it a subliminal life lesson. I enjoy this series and hope it never ends! Download and enjoy ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Olivia was not happy with her new job, but then she was well paid and quickly needed to get away from that last fiasco. Her fear is evident and valid….. at least initially. Tyler has so much to lose if things don’t work out and he’s trying so hard to be accepted. Each have a lot to lose, but they also stand to gain a lot more.
I'm absolutely crazy about this story!! Ty is adorably huggable, and Olivia is just perfect for him. I'm starting to like the Colonel. A sweet and unexpected romance with steam... and lots of charming characters..
It's not exactly bad but if I was Laurann Dohner I would be mighty pissed because the whole setup for this Hybrid Hearts series is absolutely identical to Dohner's Species series.
Hybrid Hearts seems to be a bit sunnier and softer in tone, Species is much darker, a lot more violent and controversial but the essential protective devoted nature of the spliced males is the same. There is a shadowy organization that bred the species in their laboratories secretly. There's a special town and premises that they have been given to live in freedom but separated from the world. Some are more adjusted, some still quite feral etc. It is so similar there is no way Hybrid Hearts is not a plagiarism.
Reading this book was a blast. Imagine a tall, sexy, tiger-man hybrid who discovers that his soul yearns to dance. And not classical, or ballroom, or modern dance, but Bollywood-style, hip-shaking, get-your-groove-going dance! While Ty was created in a laboratory as a super-soldier, he's discovering that his new life as an almost-free male requires him to look inside himself and see what really fulfills him, now that he is no longer subject to beatings and torture that suppressed his own will and creativity. As a person with Bengal tiger DNA, he finds himself inextricably drawn to Bollywood movie videos with their elaborately choreographed, highly energetic dance numbers. His enthusiasm is contagious as he gets some of his fellow hybrids into the act, literally. After an inauspicious introduction to Olivia, a talented clothing designer, the two discover that their talents and personalities actually complement each other and Olivia can give Ty and his dancers the wardrobe to wow the powers-that-be with their ability to reimagine themselves as individuals instead of robotic killers serving a cabal of evil scientists. The whole story is heartwarming as well as fun and romantic. Have fun reading this enjoyable entry into Alana Khan's Hybrid Hearts series!
I received an advance reader copy of this book and am leaving a review voluntarily.
Fashion Busts a Move in Alana Kahn’s new “Hybrid Hearts” series!
Tyson, “Ty”, is one of 20 genetically-spliced super-soldiers rescued three years ago, from a rogue scientist’s lab by the US Military. He’s been chosen to be Olivia’s mentee to acclimate to the “real world” -- which includes females. The problem? He has no interest in retail fashion. He’s discovered his true passion: Bollywood-style dancing.
Olivia is an aspiring fashion designer who was backstabbed by her TV-partner on the reality show “Fashion Frenemies.” After the internet exploded with #OliviaCheats (and worse!), her sister sends her a link to a mysterious ad for a 2-year job. A job that includes a $100,000 annual salary and a 1-foot-tall Non-Disclosure Agreement with the US Military but allows her to follow her dream to create & sell her designs in her own retail store. The caveat? She must mentor a man – a male -- who is a human with Tiger DNA-spliced into his own.
Will the fashion designer and the dancing king find a way to work together? Is their shaky start going to settle into something successful? Something more?
Step into the isolated former TV-land western town looking to become a tourist destination to find out !
Tyler grew up in a cage and ever since he's been set free, he can't get enough of. . life! His mentor never "smells" happy when he's around. She's supposed to be in Splicer Town to help him integrate into society. It's been two days since the women came, before that he'd never even smelled one before and they smell wonderful. But Olivia? Olivia smells delicious! Olivia didn't know what she was signing up for when she signed the contract for Splicer Town but after her career and life were destroyed, she was ready for a change. At first her mentee scares her to death but she decides that she's going to be nice to him and give him a chance. But Ty surprises both the Colonel as well as herself when he tells them what he really wants to do. Dance. As they start to relax around each other, nature takes its course and it's a FLAME. Prejudice rears its ugly head as a misunderstanding threatens Ty's freedom. Yet once again, love finds a way. "And don't it feel GOOD"! He's sunshine and she's the grump. Great characters, a few laughs and steam between the MC's had me rooting for this couple. And yes, I really enjoyed this story.
Tyler is trying to find his way in the confusing world he has been thrust into. Locked in a cage his whole life until three years ago, he has worked hard to educate himself and learn new things. He isn’t really interested in selling clothes but he is excited to work with Olivia. Until he walks into the store on the first day and realizes she is terrified of him. He leaves and goes back to his room.
Olivia signed up with the government program to escape the negative consequences of being in a reality show. How bad could it be and the pay is great. Until she gets there and realizes she is going to have to work with one of the splicers. She is absolutely terrified!
These two have a really rough start, but as Olivia spends time with him working on his goal, she realizes he really isn’t really that different from her.
Twenty women are selected for a special two-year project. Men have been experimented on with animal DNA, and the army has freed them and is working to acclimate them into society. The “most acclimated” are invited to a Main Street ghost town from a television set - Splicer town,
Each woman has a specialty/business and is to pair up to teach a life skill - baking, sewing, bookstore etc. Olivia has accepted as she was sabotaged during a sewing reality show and accused of cheating and worse. She needs a “break” from the real world. She doesn’t expect to be paired with a tiger/man who has fangs and claws.
Tyler (Ty) is Mr. Sunshine. Once he realizes he scares Olivia, he decides to set his own path - with dancing. He ultimately needs costumes for his group, which has him relating to Olivia again. My second in this series, and each was as fun as the next.
*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***
Tyler (Ty) is a hybrid human man and Bengal tiger. He is pure happiness and sunshine. He is assigned to be mentored by Olivia, who is a human fashion designer. Olivia joined the top secret government project so she could hide out and recover from a reality tv debacle. She starts out cranky and terrified when she meets TY, which is so unfair! Poor Ty has been through torture and yet still chooses to be happy now that he is mostly free. Ty realizes he does not want to learn about fashion or retail. He falls in love with Bollywood, and he wants to dance. This guy couldn’t be any sweeter or cuter! All I could do was smile when I read this book. Olivia and Ty find their way to each other through all the obstacles thrown their way, and I couldn’t help cheering for their happily ever after! Love this series! So sweet and fun with a nice bit of spice thrown in!
Hybrid human-tiger Ty is assigned to help fashion designer Olivia in the splicer compound. Olivia isn’t quite ready to work with a fearsome Tiger-man, but it is not long before the two of them find themselves getting closer.
An entertaining read set in the Rattlesnake Flats town of hybrid humans and humans. This is the second book in the series, and is a grumpy-sunshine story, only this time the sunshine is a massive Tiger-human hybrid! I loved Ty, he was so upbeat and determined to live a better life than that he had be forced to endure under the evil scientists. Olivia had been through a lot, and it was her compassion for Ty that made her open her eyes and see how she could improve. This was a lovely story, upbeat, entertaining, and at times steamy. A quick read, it’s a great pick for the monster hero lovers.
This was another sweet and steamy romance for the series and I love how both Olivia and Tyler end up being very similar, despite their appearances. She's there to help him integrate into society and he can't get over how delicious she smells ;P The author has done a fab job making these characters charming and so you can't help but fall for them. I was rooting hard for Tyler and Olivia since prejudice and drama was stacked against them. A fab HEA made it all worth it and I can't wait for more :D
Seeking respite from a very public humiliation, Olivia accepts a job with the military at a remote, top secret facility. Tyler, lab generated by splicing Bengal tiger and human DNA, has recently been released from a cage by the military and trying to understand his humanity. Both individuals are running from their painful past and towards a better future. Follow Olivia and Tyler as they learn to celebrate their differences and honor their similarities. A fun read.
Alana is a master at creating characters you will fall in love with, a story that draws you in fast, and twists in the plot to keep you reading far into the night Olivia needs to get away from the untrue mean comments online so she signs up for the program. Ty needs to do well so that he can be free to be out in the world. A true love story that will stay with you long after you finish the book. And a HEA.
I loved it. The story is getting better and better. I wonder who our next splicer would be,.
Ty reminds me of Tygger. I can't keep the smile off my face when I imagine him dancing while he was walking, much like Tygger. He is also so much more. I'd like to say he's supper nice but it seems contradicting when he is a bengal tiger. One truth stands out though, our FMC has found a truly good splicer.
This is an amazing book, Ty is so happy and full of sunshine and Olivia is so grumpy at the beginning. At first I felt sorry for Ty because Olivia was so terrified of him and mad at men due to her past boyfriend and yet this story is so sweet and uplifting and still hot and spicy. I loved the Bollywood dancing and that Ty embraced his Indian bengal heritage. I loved reading every single page of this book, and I know you will too. So pick up a copy and enjoy this wonderful story.
The second story in the Hybrid Hearts, another great short story. Olivia had somethings happen in Hollywood that made her decide to do the two year program at Splicer Town she meets Bengal splicer Ty who does not want to be were he was placed for his job he would rather dance. The story is well written with a very good storyline that kept me turning pages. I will be reading the next book in this engaging series.
I love this world. Book 2 in the new series is just as wonderful as the first. In this installment we have Ty and Olivia. She came to escape her reality at home. He is hoping to make her love him but doesn't really have an interest in her clothing shop. He finds his niche in the new Splicer Town and she helps him along the way.. friendship turns to love! HEA
Book Two of the Hybrid Heart books by Alana Khan brings us the delightful story of Ty - half man half tiger and Olivia - a fashion designer. When these two get together with a background story of Bollywood dancing, I giggled and sniggered pretty near all the way through. A totally delightful read.
Second in this series, this splicer romance is adorable. Ty is just a happy go lucky and romantic guy who loves dancing. Olivia is annoyed with the world, and frustrated at what the bargain she made with the government has brought her. I enjoyed their scenes together and that the supporting cast is ever evolving and embracing the new reality that the splicers present.
This second installment in the Splicer storyline is fantastic. It was joyous to see Ty, a Bengal tiger splicer, discover and embrace his Indian heritage. Ty's love of music and dancing was an exquisite surprise. And his discovery of Bollywood have him as much joy as a child on Christmas morning! You will relish this love story and see beyond humanity.
This is a very good, well written, humorous, Hybrid/Human romance. The characters are well developed and lovable. Olivia is a fashion designer who had a bad experience and joins the project to hide. Tyler/Ty finds a love for dance. Read and find out how they make their differences work for them. I am ready for the next story.
SERIES - "Hybrid Hearts" spin off with "Mated to the Monster" 1.Sugar and Splice: A Hybrid Lion-Man and the Human Baker He Loves; ✅ 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2.Bengal Splice: She's Grumpy and This Hybrid Tiger is Sunshine; ✅ 3.5 ⭐ 3.Nice and Splicy: Forbidden Love Romance Between the Boss’s Daughter and the Hybrid Centaur
Second in the new series of human mates with genetically engineered Splicers. This is witty and sweet and sexy all rolled up into a unique storyline. Wonderful characters and great world building. I wish I could visit this town. Couldn’t put it down. Definitely recommend.
I love this new series by Alana Khan. It includes an olde-time abandoned old west town where human women help half human/half animal hybrid males adapt to the human world by teaching them life skills and finding love along the way.
Whats not to love about a Hunky, sexy lion human hybrid who can dance bollywood style and be cuddly cat or an apex predator. I highly recommend you check this book out as well as any other books in this series.
He's walking on sunshine for sure! Another cute story from our grup of splicers. Every One off them is so special that we just want to know all of them. I'm very curious about our bear Spliced too... And the Naga! Amazing series.
Ty is such fun, and I just loved this story. The Bollywood was priceless and the story amused me. The concept is fabulous and I would love to see the rest of the guys in the south barracks come out
Bengal Splice is an exciting, steamy romance in the Hybrid Hearts series. Love that the massive, fanged, furry Ty is so sweet and Olivia conquers her fears to be with him. Entertaining fun read.
Bengal Splice is book 2 of the Hybrid Hearts series and it is purrrfectly delightful. Ty and Olivia get to boogie-down, shake, shimmy and sway along with some of the other males in Splicer town. So cute!
I think it is important to start the series from the beginning with Sugar and Splice which does a great job setting the series up.
Bengal Splice has a slow-burn spice level, lots of lively and entertaining characters and little hints of a mystery (who did this to these men?) I can’t wait to find out more in the next book!
Don’t forget to click on the link at the end of the e-book for the Bengal Splice bonus epilogue for more fun reading!
