So… There was a lot in this volume; I feel that I need to lay out some of the key details. So, the Crusade is something which, if you’re a Fate fan, I could sum up into this world’s version of something akin to the Holy Grail War. Different factions have formed or begun to form and begin to race and battle for… Actually, it’s nothing like the Holy Grail War. The Crusade is something in which God candidates attempt to collect all of the new holy relics (so far, mostly things like books). The god candidate with the most remaining gets to be the new god! Yay! Except there is a lot of backstabbing and bloodshed within this Crusade (as one might presume from the name). Not only that, but there is a human (or is he a half demon?) and his faction who are collecting old holy relics, not necessary to win the Crusade, but they are weapons of various types and can therefore grant the wielders immense power. So, in short. There are three god candidates and two and a half factions. There is Tzuzuki, an angel with a dog demon attendant and a little bit of hired help here and there (currently Tsukimiya, formerly Tsukimiya and Hinata). There is Satsuki, Tzuzuki’s older brother by two years and fallen angel, with his attendant cat demon Momose. Satsuki sides with the group Arcana for strength, much like how Tzuzuki hires or coerces help. Lastly, we have Arcana. “His Excellency”, or the head of Arcana, is the third god candidate, however, that is top secure classified information. The reason in which he is collecting old holy relics is so that he may contend with the angel and fallen angel (and fend off the demons and half-bloods vying for the power of the holy relics like Tsukimiya and Hinata were).
Overall, I wasn’t sure whether to actually give this 4/5 full stars or not. It’s definitely more of a 3.5/5. But it was genuinely entertaining and the art had improved. Fight scenes are fun too. I just am not feeling any emotional attachment or investment in characters nor story. It all feels somewhat detached. But maybe that’s partially as an attempt at the mangaka fitting G Fantasy’s vibe. A macabre story played out for the audience— not necessarily something for the audience to get attached to characters and their plight. It’s far more story and the peculiar oriented.

Nothing actually wrong with the book it just wasn’t my favorite. The illustrations were good and the banter was fun but the overall storyline just doesn’t do it for me personally.
