This excellent book gives a Christian perspective for personal healing and restoration.
Our past isn’t really our past until it has been reconciled in Christ.
Otherwise, it will continue to drive our present in unhealthy ways.
The book discusses understanding and breaking the ties that bind us to our past.
It provides case examples of how these ties are manifested in our present and how they will continue to impact our future until they are dealt with.
It also provides biblically based tools, techniques, and strategies to understand on overcome our past and how to maintain our freedom forever.

As a pastoral counselor I found this book to be helpful professionally and personally. It is written from a conservative Christian view which I found to review for me basic Christian tenants in a conservative voice. Nice overview of examining some of the disordered oppression that sinks into our psyche from our early life. I was particularly impressed with Chapter 14, The fruit of Relationship Abuse - Restoring the Foundation of Relationship. The book is easy to read and clear in giving the information that the title and introduction suggests.

I visited Gateway Church in Dallas, Texas and this was one of the recommended books from a class of theirs. It was so good I even got a copy for someone else. It is written by two people, Jimmy Evans and Ann Billington, who stayed on task so well you might not know who wrote which chapter if you skip the intro of each one. They talk about overcoming your past hurts, pains, choices and situations that affect what you're doing today so you can have a tremendously healthy tomorrow and experience freedom.

We need deliverance. I found wise Christian council in this book. I think the key is for us to apply these Godly principles to our life, and just like with anything, it won't work if you don't get going and just do it.

It gave me some perspective and some opportunities to get introspective and do some journaling. We've all got some healing to do.
