Kyle Adams started out dabbling with writing gay romance stories for fun. He writes what makes him laugh and hopes anyone who reads his work laughs with him. Kyle had three books nominated in the 2013 Goodreads.com M/M Romance Group readers choice awards and two books nominated in 2012 for the same event. His free story, Dirty Cop won Best Short Story in 2013.

Kyle has a hard time picking a favorite anything (color, book, music, quote, etc.), so trying to write a decent bio was quite the challenge. He is a very quiet person and is used to keeping things to himself. If there is anything you want to know, just ask.

Dirty Drag is a three-part serial, the story of Ashley and Rick: (Dirty Drag, Dirty Drag 2: The Night Drags On, Dirty Drag 3: Beyond The Drag).

In book 1, Ashley is about to prove he can pass for a real woman, wearing full drag. But Rick can’t be fooled – not for a moment.

The story starts awesome. Their first encounter is very enjoyable.

It was a lot of work doing full drag. Ashley was lucky to have natural curves and a shapely ass. It was easy for him to stuff a small, B cup bra and use a little makeup to silhouette his chest, making it appear like he had a luscious rack. The hair was easy, throw on his favorite wig and style it a little. Ashley preferred not to think about the unpleasantness that was dick tucking; tucking was a painful bitch. It’s not easy being a queen.

Lots of dirty talk, “raunchy restroom sex” and other dirtiness.

I wont pretend and say it's sweet, no whispered lovey dovey words, its get down and be dirty. A smutty, kinky meet up and ahem have the horniest ride of your life. I loved how Ashley was willing to go to extremes so he could get to wear his beloved high heels, he's in blissful heaven and so is Rick. A short and sexy read, it was a lot of fun.

I wasn't expecting there to be so much interest in this already. When I added this to goodreads I realized I didn't have a blurb, I added it anyway, figuring I'd get the blurb done before anyone noticed. When I came back today today (12-07-12) I noticed several people have already added it to their shelves, and I just want to say I appreciate your interest in my work. I still haven't finished the blurb, but I will soon. I hope.

Free super short story!
I've read this author's short stories and have enjoyed them all, they are humorous and original, this one is no exception.
Ashley loves wearing heels and sometimes wearing drag, but the heels are the real highlight.
Tonight he picked an out of the way raunchy bar to test if he can 'pass' as a woman, and when Rick comes walking over with a very obvious sign of interest in Ashley, he goes all out ! Good thing for him Rick seems to have a thing for heels and toes! ;)
Holy cow, Ashley has a mouth on him, and I'm suprised Rick tried to resist at all!
I'm not sure if this is just a hook-up or if it is meant to be the start of something, but it's a fast quirky read.

In which Ashley tries to pass as a woman and fails.

Ashley loves his high heels, but going out in full drag takes a lot of effort. He’s looking for a quick hookup and a speedy getaway. No matter how convincing he may be, spending too much time with a guy will definitely blow his cover. Rick has other ideas.

This short, funny and sexy story was perfect for reading on the bus. Though the two men had distinctly different personalities, they both exuded playfulness and quirky charm. What fun!

Enjoyable freebie ficlet. The buildup was better than the sex, which was glossed over and not written at all evocatively No, it's not this. You know what it is? It's the bathroom furniture. I was drawn out of the sex scene by my considerations of how on earth this was all working, spatially speaking. I am so fucking OCD about these things sometimes, I make myself nuts. So, this is a "pub" (p. 1). It's not a gay dive bar.

"Sal’s got a lot of new patrons every night. It had a reputation for being a shady dive bar where one could find almost anything they were looking for and even a few things they weren’t. So, each night, people would show up looking to score something, only to find out that what they heard about Sal’s was wrong, then leave disappointed, never to venture down to Sal’s again. Or, like Rick, they loved the laid-back atmosphere and enjoyed relaxing after work with reasonably priced drinks and cheap fried food. (p. 5)

The pub has three unisex bathrooms (p. 10), which are larger than a stall, as Ashley can slip in without Rick immediately noticing (p. 10), but narrow enough for Rick to brace his hands on opposite walls (p. 11). Rick is approximately 6'5" (he's taller than Ashley who is 6'3" in heels (p. 2)). Armspan is roughly equal to height, but Rick's arms are braced, not just barely touching, so the bathroom is maybe 6' to 6'2" wide. There is a counter next to the sink, big enough for Ashley's purse (p. 10) and also big enough for Ashley to sit on (p. 15). The sink is at most two steps away from the toilet: Rick turns from the toilet, Ashley is on his knees in front of him, Ashley then takes one step to get to the sink (p. 11). Also Rick throws the used condom into the toilet without letting go of Ashley on the counter (p. 14).

So I'm picturing something the size of a mobility bathroom. How, then, does Rick flip Ashley over onto his back on the counter and lean him back until Ashley's back hits the wall, in such a way that his legs are pushed right up? How big is this counter? And why would there be a counter this big in a 6 foot bathroom? How is it sturdy enough to support vigorous sex, given that this isn't a dive bar?

The sex in the story is actually written well, but for the life of me I can't believe it because of this bloody counter. Why couldn't Adams have just had Rick shag Ashley from behind while he learned against the counter, and then I would have enjoyed it more.

Adams also would have been better served to not try to spell everything out at the end, e.g. one MC telling the other why he didn't let him know he knew he was a man all along, or the other MC explaining that he doesn't try to pass as a woman and enjoys being a man. We, the reader, already know these things; it is unnecessary for the MCs to explain it to each other. It just makes the story go 'clunk' for two paragraphs.

Kyle Adams writes a mean short. This was no exception. I loved it!!

I like a kink or fetish and we have a shoe/foot fetish going on here for those who like it :)

Ashley, good name, goes to a low brow bar, a dive, dressed as a woman in sexy clothes and fuck-me heels, it's all about the heels. He also wouldn't mind proving a point - he can look good in drag. He wants to blow-and-go so no-one can work out Ashley is in drag.

Rick sees Ashley come in to the bar, knows Ashley is in drag, and is as interested as interested as can be. He wants some action with that sweet arse and fuck-me heels. He sits back lets a red-neck have a crack first and he goes in for the kill.

It's Kyle Adams, so you know a) it's short b) it's hot and c) it's well written. I certainly enjoy a short, hot well written story.

The dialogue was witty, the sex was holy-shizballs-hot! and Ashley and Rick, especially Rick, were engaging. I loved it.

I am such a fan of this author and I tend to stalk his Goodreads page for information on new releases. Easy to do considering he is a Goodreads friend. While I knew about this short, I did not know that it had already been released. I missed it by a day. I don't do that. I always try to read his work on the day of release. Thankfully, I was able to grab it as soon as I noticed it and stopped reading something else to jump into it. The other book can wait. :)

I don't normally post reviews on the blog I participate in for super short stories. Dirty Drag is super short, read by me in only a few minutes. Because of my love of all things written by Kyle Adams I am making an exception in this case as far as a blog post is concerned.

Ashley is on a mission to prove a point. He wants to prove that he can pass as a woman in a dive bar. He wants to find a guy, blow him and then move on quickly before the man finds out he's not a female. It doesn't quite happen that way. The first man to approach Ashley in the bar is a redneck with the worst pick up lines ever. He is dispatched quickly. The next one, however, is different. Rick is a sexy man who obviously wants Ashley but Rick has plans other than having Ashley blow him quickly under the table and then take off.

This is a quick, very sexy read. Both characters are perfect for the story. As mentioned above, there is not much to this as it is only a few pages, but this author has once again put so much in those few pages that I did not feel cheated. I always end his books wanting more but never not satisfied with the resolution.

Another great read by Kyle Adams.

Well, this one is a little different than the previous Dirty stories. Gone is the cute sweetness I remember from the others. This one gets down and dirty but in a good way. Rick seems like a genuine nice guy for the most part, and Ashely (and even Trashley) seems like the perfect match for him. I wish this story was longer so we could get to know each of them a little more. Hopefully, this is just a taste, and there is more to come.

How can you not love Ashley? He is just so cheeky, and the most ballsy guy ever. He makes you laugh from the first paragraph until the last page. I loved how Rick was his equal, in every way, and had his number from the get-go. These two together would be awesome in a novella...hint, hint, hint.

Shortie review for a shortie novella, which as usual, with Kyle Adams, I really liked. Yes, it was smutty, but very funny. 4 stars

Ashley is fairly desperate to get laid, and goes to a bar dressed as Trashly Ashley, slutty drag queen extraordinaire!! He immediately catches the eye of a hunky guy Rick, who is sitting by the bar, but is a little late to make his move, and he waits patiently while 'Trashly' disses a guy who had the guts to make a move 'Redneck Joe'. Rick then swoops, and despite trying to take things slowly, 'Trashly' is all about heading straight to the bathroom with his beloved high heels of course......Book 2 here I come!!

So I've read a few things by this author now and I love the wit and dialogue. All the characters are unique and so are the stories. But I felt a little disappointed with this one. It was very quick hello, sex, good-bye. I think it's time for Kyle Adams to expand his writing and move into full length novels! I want to know more about Ashley. What does he do? Besides the shoes what is it about drag that makes him happy and when did he first start dressing up. Does he have pets? Family? Is his bluntness a defense mechanism? And Rick! We didn't get much of anything about him!
