The 3rd book in the Sovereign Spirit Saga expands the scope of rescue operations and reveals that there are worse threats than undead cannibals facing survivors of the zombie apocalypse.
Follow Scott, Carl and their companions as they struggle to de fend a stronghold of civilization in the face of overwhelming odds. You may be surprised at which of the characters you have come to know and love (or hate) fall victim to the apocalypse and you will be shocked at the depths of cruelty and inhumanity to which some of the survivors descend.
Don't forget that all of the Sovereign Spirit Saga books are great electronic stocking stuffers! You can buy them "as a gift" on Amazon and set the digital delivery date for 12/25/12. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.

David I more than like your stories I love them! I have read MANY zombie books & you are the 1st that I have read from the POV that you came from! You are one the 1st zombie books I actually read & still through ALL the other books yours still stands out & I love it! you created not only characters that seem like they are real life people but you made some so horrible I want to reach through the freaking screen & smack or shoot which ever is good lol or characters that I grew so attached to that I cried like someone shot my dog when they get killed or hurt!!! You fall in love w/each character & as they go through the challenges of living in a post apocalyptic world you go through them as well! great read! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!
I understand the different approach that the author took in this book and appreciate the change. I honestly just got a little bored with the conversations between characters. That was mainly the reason I had a hard time getting through the book. The constant planning between each of the characters just didn't keep my attention. That may be my own fault though. The politics and the military planning, which I know are necessary in a crisis, just bore me in any story. So, it may just be my taste this time.
Still in love with the characters, and I like the new perspective of the situation through the actions of those who are truly cruel. I think this was a great addition.
My favorite part of the book was the end when Billy and his mom are struggling to survive. This was the main event that sped up the pace of the book and kept me wondering what would happen next.
I am also the type of reader/writer that likes to kill off most of my beloved characters, so I'm always wishing authors would kill more of them instead of them living happily ever after, but I know a lot of you would hate your favorite authors for it. It's just my taste. Very tragic. Very Shakespearean. There were a few characters that I hoped would die or find their love ones killed and be devastated in this book and didn't.
Looking forward to continuing the saga. I'm hooked at this point. There's no turning back for me!
Deluge the Dead returns to the form shown ion the first book of the series. Gone is all the nitty gritty details of the organisation of the flotilla that seemed to dominate book two. What we have here is the return of some good ole fashion Zombie bashing fun. I could literally see the pink mist as zombie after zombie lost their heads. Chuck in a bunch of surf Nazis who dream to pirates and what you have is a shining example of great Zombie yarn. The author uses the surf Nazis to show the dark side of humanity. It is all well and good of being afraid of the undead but I would not take my eye off that young gentleman with a Mohawk if I was you. Well done Mr Forsyth I look forward to the next instalment in the Sovereign Spirit saga.
THE BEST TRILOGY OF ZOMBIE BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ. GREAT STORY AND CHARACTERS, MAKES YOU FEEL YOU ARE THERE. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE. BUY ALL THREE AND READ BACK TO BACK FOR THE BEST ZOMBIE FEST EVER. WOULD MAKE A SAVAGE TV SERIES OR FILM. A MUST BUY.
While I enjoyed book 3 I was not thrilled with how abruptly it ended. I enjoy cliffhangers as much as anyone but this book was more like a drop off a cliff. Still looking forward to seeing where the story goes from here though.
This one to me was the weakest in the series so far. The other two were filled with so much hope and I was like finally a zombie apocalypse series that's not just slamming you with terrible shit every second but then this one..........for people who like no happy endings then this will serve it up. I was looking forward to reading this one so much, but it was hard to get through, I wanted to throw my kindle across the room honestly. It has an ending, which is open ended but in my opinion its such a downer that I'm not sure I'd want to read another one if this is the style it's going to continue in. I have read many zombie series, some being a gore fest, some being incredibly sad/hopeless, some being a mix of both and some that you just wish you hadn't read, this is the last category for me.
A most amazing non stop boat people versus zombies saga!
If 6 stars were possible to rate, this book would get it! The colorful and individual characters suck you in immediately and the never ending action and adventure (that includes zombies, the military and evil bikers) keeps the pressure on until you're looking at the last page wondering how you got there! Fabulous books individually and as a saga you should plan a week off because you'll not want to stop reading...
Excellent program for connecting with your friends to see what they are reading. Can read reviews on books you are interested in reading. You can write reviews as well and get recommendations good one
Waiting on the next book in the saga will the Hammer family be rescued what of the fate of the safe haven. Will they find the people who did this. REALLY REALLY NEED TO KNOW 😵
It took me a mere two days to read all three books of the Sovereign Spirit Saga. Once I picked them up, you couldn't tear me away! Let's get real, I bet this series makes each of you muse over what you would spend your hundreds of millions on should you ever hit the megabucks. The plot is straightforward. Scott, a family man, hits the lottery in a big way. You know boys and their toys. He purchases an old cruise liner and retrofits it to be the ultimate party boat. We're talking helicopters, planes, amphibious watercraft, a cache of weapons; the Sovereign Spirit has it all. On a pleasure cruise with his family and friends, the crew finds themselves in the middle of the zombie apocalypse.
The Sovereign spirit is more a tale of survival than death and destruction, oh don't get me wrong, there is still plenty of death and destruction. However, it plays second fiddle to our characters battle to survive and thrive in a world gone dead. Each book can be read standalone, or in succession. Individually they tell a complete battle, together they show us the entire war.
I suspect the male gender will really enjoy reading about Scott and his taking charge of creating safe zones and leading the flotilla of boats that travel in the wake of the Sovereign Spirit. For me, I connected with Carl and his struggles, and perseverance. Carl had a depth of character that I didn't find in the other survivors. My only criticism would be that the female characters left me lacking. In this day and age, women just aren't that fragile and docile. I would have liked to see some girl power gracing the pages. I also had difficulty with the crew continuing to work. I just got back from a cruise, and I know the waitstaff, stewards, and other employees would have revolted. Personally, I would have given a big F-Off to my boss and demanded everyone clean their own rooms.
From what I hear, these 3 books are just the first installment, and there is more to come in the Sovereign Spirit Saga...The saga continues mwuhahaha.
Can we just talk about David Forsyth for a minute? This guy is awesome! He is keen to the fact that in order to keep a buzz going, you must remain relevant. I see him on nearly every blog or group I frequent. I respect that tenacity. That's a guy who's gonna make it. Writers, take note. If you don't sell yourself and put yourself out there, no one else will. Pay attention to this guy. He's got the goods!
A fantastic thrilling ride in the third book of the Sovereign Spirit saga! Having massively enjoyed the first two books, "Voyage of the Dead" and "Flotilla of the Dead" I have been eagerly waiting to read "Deluge of the Dead" to find out what happens next to Commodore Scott Allen, his family and the crews of the Sovereign Spirit and the people of the safe haven set up in Long Beach harbour following the devastating world wide outbreak of the super rabies virus that has caused much of the worlds population to turn into zombies.
"Deluge of the Dead" picks up running immediately where Flotilla ended and we discover the zombies fear of water and an approaching storm can mean a window of opportunity to save the survivors in the Los Angeles area, but other forces are at work waiting to cause problems for Scott Allen and his band of survivors and what happens next will have you sat up in shock with your mouth open! An incredible read, full of excitement, horror and constant action, once you start reading it will pick you up and keep you gripped until the final blood soaked page! I can't wait for more...
What a great third book in the Sovereign Spirit Saga! It was all consuming with a continuation of action, emotion highs and lows, new challenges, and new villains. And you thought that the zombie apocalypse was an end of the world event. Apparently, there are things that are worse....a lot worse.
I'm still a big fan of Mr. Forsyth's writing and was transfixed, reading this third installment in one sitting! The determination and perseverance of the characters that I've grown to love was absolutely contagious. I fully recommend this book and this whole series. If you haven't started reading it yet, get going! Full speed ahead!
Overall, I thought this was the best of the series. Although... the first chapter was so horrific to me that I "almost" did not continue reading. Once I calmed myself enough to continue I thought the rest of the story line was amazing! Thank you, David, for awesome women warriors such as Blade! And thanks for Carl as he's my favorite character! I was very upset about Scott and all that happened to him.
I will definitely be continuing with the Sovereign Spirit Saga. Can't wait for book 4!!
Once again, I was up into the wee hours of the morning to finish the book, because I couldn't put it down.
Although I enjoyed it thoroughly, this book was much darker than the previous two and lacked a lot of the humor they had, which I missed. And the big baddie we want to hate here is a human being, although there is enough zombie action for all.
And a few more questions to keep the story going. So now I go back into wait mode for the next book. AGAIN! :)
By far the bast of the three so far. Don't get me wrong; it's not great literature, but finally not everything is going the way the oh-so perfect main character wants, and there are actual meaningful female characters in this installment.
the first.two books were good. this book.was okay. started out good, but got slow in the middle. it pocked up toward the end. the trilogy as a whole was a pretty good read!
The plan to rescue survivors worked, wife & son rescued, Scag and his merry band of skinheads plan was thwarted. Now can we get to the zombies... Blood n Gore
