True crime by Zach Fortier. I laughed out loud and held back tears. Really gritty and doesn't hold back. I can't imagine the life Zach had but be gives us a peek into the criminal world he lived in. Can't recommended the trilogy more. Amazing author. Fantastic books. If I could give more stars I would. Some of the stories stay with you
Written by an ex-cop suffering from PTSD, this trilogy follows his career from idealistic rookie to damaged veteran. Great stuff, but a little disjointed. I would have liked to read of his decision to leave and how he was diagnosed. The final chapter was just another story - there was no resolution, leaving you hanging. Still, a rivtting read and worth the time.
This may be reality on the streets, but this author has some real issues. The book tells you more about him then about the people he is writing about and feeling so superior to. He can't get along with his fellow officers who are described as incompetent. The guy comes across as a real scumball. Unluckily, I bought this set of three books and his "Hero to Zero" before reading just one.
