When Bennett sister Lydia is taken in by the General, FBI Agent Rick Thompson goes along with her, ostensibly to keep her safe, but Rick has his own orders... When Lydia finds herself the target of a dangerous criminal, it’s Rick she goes to for help.
Another Bennett bites the dust in this romantic suspense with paranormal overtones. This book is a bit of a crossover... it’s set in the middle of the Bennett sisters series, but at the point where the story of all the older Bennetts in this family grouping, are all told. Subsequent books feature the kids of this lot, and there are some cousins later too. The book that continues the story from THIS book, the overarching background story that begins in this book, is the first in the phantom protectors series, Reckless Abandon. Yes, that means this book doesn’t complete the background story, although the main love story is told.
Kate Allenton is a gifted author, and barring my issues with the ages of the characters changing, it’s an entertaining series that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading, and I will be reading more!
Recommended for those who enjoy romantic suspense with paranormal overtones.
Lydia is taken by General Lister to a military training center for supernatural soldiers. He promises to teach her how to control her powers. But someone evil is watching her and wanting her. Plus there is a mole in the supernatural soldiers.
The General takes her to his base for training. Rick follows her to protect her. Then Rick is captured by terrorists who use him for a psychic experiment.
it's a bit frustrating to deal with the changes in names, is it Jaime or Jamie, and what seems like unfinished or incomplete editing throughout the story. I really want to like this series but so far it's just meh based on things a simple read-through and spellcheck would fix.
First off, I read the ebook/Nook version, & somehow I missed a chunk out of the book.
Other than that, I think this was my favorite so far of the series. I like more suspense than romance & hope the next 2 in the series will follow this book, as it introduced the Phantom group.
Redemption is the fifth book in the Bennett Sisters series written by author Kate Allenton. This one is about Lydia, the Bennett's newly discovered half-sister. Great series!
This author is really hit or miss. None of these women would I want to hang out with, they are all idiots. Again the romance was awful because those involved were awful.
