Oh, Mrs. Hippopotamus. You are an introvert. I totally understand how you feel. Alone time is SOOOOOO necessary! In fact, she was much kinder to interlopers into her personal space than I (a fellow introvert) probably would have been. My gratitude to the author for showing that not everyone...even in the animal world...has to be an extrovert.
Simple story of an introverted hippo who likes her privacy but doesn't freak out when she doesn't get it. Instead, she searches for a way to help others so she can get back her privacy. Good, but not outstanding, my preschool story time kids sat through it well enough but we not wowed.
